Many family events have been planned. We hope you can join us for our first Trunk or Treat in the Macken Park parking lot on October 28, where families will have a spooktacular time knowing they are in a safe space to trick or treat, play, and have fun.

At the Mayor’s Tree Lighting on November 18, kids will be able to visit with a real reindeer at City Hall, and then come to the Park Center the next day to see Santa and make a craft at our Mistletowne Market. This two-day festival, November 19-20, will feature 25 different local makers, food, sip and shop, and entertainment for the whole family.

Kids will also have another opportunity to make crafts, play games, decorate cookies, and enjoy a hot chocolate bar at our Winter Wonderland on December 10. And for all the paw-parents, our annual Howl-O-Ween is back again this year at Waggin’ Trail Dog Park on October 8, so get their costumes ready! Donations are shared with our local NKC Animal Shelter.

It is hard to believe that summer is winding down, kids are back in school, and this month we finish out our concert series in the park. The Diamond One renovation is finally completed and resurfacing of Wheel Park has begun.

Parks and Recreation will be accepting hats, scarves, and gloves, either handmade or store bought (with tags) now through November 11. Then the week of Thanksgiving, all will be hung on the park fences available to anyone needing a little extra warmth this winter season. Ressler

Our Annual Cookies and Canvas Class is back! Come and join us to paint a Fun Snowman or a Festive Flamingo! This year we are opening this activity up to both Children and Adults! Bring the whole family for some painting fun and decorate cookies.

COOKIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD Ages 5-13 | Ms. Heather Come and learn how to make cookies from around the world! We will learn about Lebkuchen (Germany), Melomakarona (Greece), Polvorones (Spain), and Achu Murukku (India). The students will taste all cookies while learning about the world! No nuts will be used during this class.

KIDS YOGA Ages 5-12 | Amy Vance A playful yoga class to explore the different poses and breathwork of yoga. Through movement children will build self-confidence and coordination all while having fun.

Each dog will receive a trick-or-treat bag with a donation. Large Dog Costume Contest will be at 1:30 pm and Small Dog Costume Contest will be at 1:45 pm. TRAIL DOG PARK 432 E 32nd Avenue (32nd and Swift Avenues) This 4.7 acre off-leash dog park is a partnership between the City of North Kansas City and the City of Kansas City, Missouri. There are separate areas for large and small dogs, and each area features a paved walking trail and multiple obstacles.
