Jostled by a 4.5 earthquake. Affected by a power outage. Posted Red Flag warnings.
Northgate is seeing an increase in activity necessitating emergency preparedness. Are you prepared? If so, you are steps ahead of other residents in California. If not, now is the time to register for alerts, create plans, build “go” kits and secure your home.
Your neighborhood CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is a group of volunteers trained by The City of Walnut Creek to help, when needed, in emergencies. The team is trained in various skills including preparedness. The purpose of this column is to provide you with tips and resources from CERT training that will help keep you, your family and pets safe in an emergency.

Each month we will we focus on a particular subject. This month, we will start at the beginning with awareness of potential emergencies in and around Northgate.
