THE TANNIC COLLECTION

Rare is the opportunity to walk upon history itself; to step across wood planks sourced from forests where artisans have been mastering their craft for centuries – the same place where a food and wine culture changed the world. These are the rich, unmistakable origins of the Tannic Collection.
THE OAK THAT MAKES UP THE TANNIC COLLECTION IS SOURCED EXCLUSIVELY FROM THE LORRAINE, BURGUNDY, AND SURROUNDING REGIONS OF FRANCE. OAK FROM THESE REGIONS IS KNOWN NOT ONLY FOR ITS FINE GRAIN AND NATURAL COLOUR BUT ALSO FOR THE HIGHEST CONTENT OF TANNINS AMONGST THE OAK FAMILIES, MAKING IT THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER AMONGST ARTISAN’S AND WINEMAKERS. THE NATURAL TANNINS IN OAK SERVE TO FLAVOUR FINE WINES AND WHISKEYS AND, WHEN PAIRED WITH COLOUR TREATMENTS, CREATE ONE OF A KIND LOOKS THAT ONLY NATURE CAN SERVE UP. IN SHORT, IT CONTAINS THE PERFECT PALETTE TO MAKE THE FINEST NATURAL PRODUCTS.

GROWN IN FRANCE, HANDCRAFTED IN CANADA
Sourced from sustainably managed forests in France’s Lorraine, Burgundy, and surrounding regions, the Tannic Collection continues a centuries-long tradition of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The logs are harvested and cut into lumber at local sawmills in the Lorraine region. When the lumber reaches our Canadian mill, our craftsmen saw them into premium 6 mm (0.22 in)-thick top layers of French oak, combined with a North American hardwood core, making up our PureCraft 3-layer construction*. The planks then undergo an extensive crafting and finishing process. Utilizing these natural tannins in this oak and pairing them with our unique colour treatments, we can create one of a kind looks that range from light and consistent neutral tones to deep, vibrant, and variegated colours that only natural and organic ingredients can serve up.
The result is artisanal French oak planks that make a distinct and immediate impression. Mirroring the characteristics of fine wines and whiskeys that utilize the oak from this region in their aging process, these floors exude character, complexity, and will appeal to those that have an eye for the intricate details and appreciate the finer things in life. One glance and you will have an even greater appreciation for the French landscape and the artisans who cultivate it.
