Gordon Stoner, a seasoned pulse and durumwheat grower from Outlook, Montana, has been honored as the 2025 “OutstandingAgricultural Leader” bythe Montana State UniversityCollege ofAgriculture Known forpioneering the adoption of peas, lentils and chickpeas in Montana and mentoring fellowgrowers, his quiet but effective leadership has significantlyshaped the state’s pulse-crop industry. NPGARepresents at the NorthAmerican Pulse ImprovementAssociation Meeting Dr AudreyKalil,Associate Directorof NPGA, played a keyrole representing the association at the North American Pulse ImprovementAssociation (NAPIA) meeting held lastweekin Lincoln, Nebraska The event brought togetherpulse researchers and industryleaders from across the continent to share advancements in genetics, breeding, and production. Dr. Kalil served as one of the on-the-ground organizers forthe Root Rot Workshop, hosted bythe Pulse CropsWorking Group, alongside Dr. Uta McKelvy.Theworkshop provided a hands-on space forscientists to exchange strategies and strengthen collaboration on managing one of the pulse industry’s most persistent challenges
