Northern Lights - Fantastic Film Festival is a short film festival based in Akureyri in the North East region of Iceland. The festival selects and showcases around 40 international fantastic films, including horror and sci-fi, being narrative, animated, or documentaries.
The goal is to bring something fantastic to the cinema for all age groups of fantasy film lovers, award filmmakers who make fantasy films, and encourage filmmakers to be inspired by the treasure of Icelandic folklore. The festival also hosts many other local and collaborative fantastic events!
The goal is to have an intimate but fantastic weekend in the beautiful North!

John Russell Dilworth is a celebrated American animator, actor, writer, director, and producer, best known as the creator of the beloved animated series Courage the Cowardly Dog. His impressive work has graced major networks such as PBS, CBS, HBO, Cartoon Network, and many more.
An Academy Award nominee for his animated short The Chicken from Outer Space (1996), Dilworth’s contributions to the animation industry have influenced countless artists and captivated audiences worldwide.
