While it is unfortunate that we will not gather in person, this year we invite you to join us for what will be the first and a one-of-a kind dynamic online event, Northern Green Virtual, scheduled to take place on January 11-14, 2021.

Northern Green Virtual will be the kick-off for the new year as it presents a remarkable opportunity to exchange ideas, knowledge and to create and renew connections with colleagues. We have been hard at work finding ways to create an exceptional virtual experience like no other, despite the hurdles posed by these challenging times.

Lightning Talk: Bur Oak Blight at the Arboretum: What We've Learned Erin Buchholz, Minnesota Landscape Arboretum 2020 saw the final demise of our prized bur oak by the Wilson Rose Garden. Following fungicide injections and growth regulator drenches between 2013 and 2019, we've adjusted and readjusted our thinking when it comes to bur oak blight (BOB). Will research have new answers for us, or could resistance be bred into our cherished trees? Buchholz will share the specifics of past treatments, why the tree's site was a challenge and hopes for the future as this disease continues to affect bur oaks throughout the upper Midwest.
