YOUNG publisher’s note
After I graduated from high school, I really wanted to get a tattoo. The only problem was I didn’t know what to get. I would be marking up my body for the rest of my life – I wasn’t just going to get a random design that looked cool but had no meaning. It needed to be something that when I looked at it when I was old and gray, that I would smile and be happy about it. But the years went by and nothing felt right. When I was 21 years old, and going to college in Fargo, I woke up one morning with a song randomly stuck in my head. “Forever Young.” No, no. I know you are thinking, “Bob Dylan… Nice.” Although a great song, it wasn’t the one in my head. The song in my head was by rapper Jay-Z. I know … millennial, right? Technically its title is “Young Forever,” but at the time I didn’t realize it. Nor does it really matter. “Forever young. I want to be forever young.” I laid in bed for a while as the song replayed in my head. Then, I sat up quickly and said, “That is it!” I walked into my roommate’s room and said, “I know what I want for my tattoo!” He was sitting at his computer. Deep in thought, he told me to hold on. After 30 seconds of silence, he said, “Me, too. Let’s go!” Apparently, he was torn between a few options himself, but my certainty seemingly gave him that extra motivation he needed to finally pick a design.

A couple of hours later, I walked out of the tattoo shop with my first-ever tattoo. “Forever Young” was forever stamped to my right bicep. People always say to me, some jokingly and some seriously, “What are you going to do when you are old with wrinkly saggy skin?” I always roll my eyes and have the same three-word response: “Young at heart.”

September 4th, 2021
My mom had a magnet on our fridge at the lake cabin that said, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.” I’ve always loved that quote. It is so easy to let life harden us and make us grow up to the point that we lose that playful part of us that makes life so joyful. Work and bills pile up, and we get so focused on completing tasks rather enjoying the moment. As you go through your day today, I encourage you to look around with innocent eyes and a playful spirit. Try to remember that feeling you had as a kid where nothing else in the world mattered but whatever it was that you were doing in that present moment. Sit on the floor, lay in the grass, look at the clouds, be in awe, and pretend you are … a T-Rex. I don’t care what you do! But let the inner kid in you come out a bit more today. Life is short – enjoy it! Oh, and while you do that, be sure to turn on Jay-Z or Bob Dylan and vibe out. Stay forever young, Jordan Espeseth Owner Jordan.espeseth@realproducersmag.com

EVERETT
SHELL S U C C E S S
The energy and zest for life that Everett Shell possesses is something he freely shares. In turn, he makes a positive, lasting mark on the lives of those around him with his expertise and experience as Broker/Owner of Everett Shell & Associates Realty. Living Abundance
Since his start in life, Everett has channeled his abundant personality in many ways. Along his path, success seems to continually be in step with him.

“I have a loving personality and a big heart. I want to show Christ-like love toward my fellow man. I want to be there to assist and help,” Everett smiles. “We’ve all been given gifts from God. I like helping people feel comfortable and safe.” As the youngest of five children, Everett was born in Lewisville, Texas. In time, his family moved from The Colony to Garland, and years later to Forney. From there, Everett graduated from Forney High School, earned his associate degree from Richland Community College, before moving to Utah where he majored in Communications with a minor in Sociology at Brigham Young University.

All along the way, dancing was a huge part of Everett’s life and passion. He flat-out excelled at it. In fact, at one point, he was awarded with the Gregory Hines Memorial Scholarship. “I did tap, jazz, ballet, and hip-hop. I took many dance classes at London School of Dance and was on the dance team in high school. I was also part of musicals in Dallas and Garland. I did a lot of musical theater, including productions of Kiss Me Kate, Singing in the Rain, Miss Saigon, Oklahoma, and others. In college, I was on the hip-hop team and had a chance to perform in the music dance theater showcase at BYU. I had a great time, as dance taught me at an early age how passion and hard work can go hand in hand.” Moving Forward
His collegiate career was pivotal in more ways than one. “My last year at BYU, I met my wife and we discovered we had both grown up in Texas.” While Everett had the opportunity to go to New York City to pursue his dancing career, he decided to stay in Utah, where he started working at a local news station. In time, he and his wife moved back to Texas. Everett had been offered a job with a local TV station in Odessa, but he was ready for a change. “I wasn’t passionate about working for a news station,” Everett remembers. “But I had always been passionate about real estate. When I was 15, I remember helping my parents while they were building their custom home. I helped them design it.”
friends,” he explains. “I started from the ground up. When I was working at Wells Fargo and practicing real estate part time in 2014, I sold a large home in Dallas for $900,000 and then I decided to leave the company and go full-time in real estate.” Along the way, Everett received valuable support that set him on his path to success. In fact, in 2017, Everett earned Rookie of the Year, Top Gross Commission Income Award, and Top Individual Agent at Keller Williams Dallas Park Cities. “It’s a lot of pressure when you decide to go full-time, but it’s well worth it. I wouldn’t have had these kinds of opportunities sitting at a desk,” he says. “My supportive friends, family, and clients have helped me and have given me a lot of referrals.” That spirit of collaboration continues today with Everett’s own firm. “I have a great team, including two agents (Autumn Roberts and Agnel Ingalls), an assistant (Sonia Johnson) and a transaction coordinator (Donna Albright),” he says. “I’ve been taking my time with growth, because I wanted to make sure that the right systems were in place. By doing those things, I have the ability to help my clients even more.”
Pursuing His Passion
Everett had an inside track of sorts to real estate. “My parents had been in real estate in the ‘80s in Texarkana. Through time, they were involved in different businesses,” Everett said. “I always liked looking through real estate magazines and going through open houses and models with my mom. I am still addicted to homes today. In fact, my wife and I love going through homes. We built and designed our two homes.” As Everett transitioned from the news business, he got a job as a Loan Counselor in the mortgage industry. “I love being of value to people,” he says. “As a Loan Counselor, you’re helping people get back on track with their mortgage. From there, I worked as a Personal Banker with Wells Fargo for a couple of years.” Step by step, Everett kept learning and growing. It wasn’t long before he started selling real estate part-time. “I let everyone know that I was in real estate through my sphere of people at church, through social media, and my 28 • October 2021
A Life of Impact
Away from work, Everett and his wife look forward to time spent with their two sons — 4-year-old Judah and 2-year-old Elias. In their free time, Everett and his wife have an ongoing passion for décor and design. “We love watching HGTV, looking at home and décor magazines and stores, and touring model homes. My wife is very talented with colors and design. We find it fascinating that years after being married, we discover this mutual passion for interior design and beautiful homes,” he says. Everett also has a big place in his heart for time spent with family, along with traveling. Another favorite is exploring the DFW restaurant scene. In addition, faith is at the heart of life for Everett and his family. He and his wife work with children at their church. @realproducers

Above and Beyond
As Everett thinks about the rewarding life he has today, he shares memories of the time when he thought he might lose it all.
“When I was a student at BYU, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer,” he remembers. “During the process of fighting that, I opened myself to the Lord and I heard his voice saying, ‘I’m here. I love you, and you’re going to be fine.’ I could have died. I had eye cancer that could have spread. Thankfully, it didn’t spread. I had so many amazing people who opened my eyes and heart to people who cared. My wife has helped me so much throughout our marriage. I know I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish so many things without her. She is a rock and support in my life.”
“WE ALL FALL. THE DIFFERENCE IS TO
KEEP GOING. THE PEOPLE WHO NEVER GIVE UP MAKE IT. WE ARE ALL WORTH
IT.”
Everett’s perspective on life centers on gratitude. “When you get involved in worldly things, it’s easy to lose sight of what is truly important. You get so busy. But it’s important to step back and reflect on making sure you’re on the path you want to be on and the path God has for you. I feel anything is possible with God,” he emphasizes. “You can do anything in your life that you put your mind to. We all fall. The difference is to keep going. The people who never give up make it. We are all worth it.” Each day provides new opportunities and challenges. Through it all, Everett moves ever forward … step by step!

partner spotlight Written by: Dave Danielson Photos by: Samantha Farris
ON TOP OF YOUR NEEDS The moving parts of the business need attention … sometimes, it seems, all at the same time. That’s why it’s so gratifying to know you’ve got a partner at your side … one that has a relentless drive to take care of issues by staying on top of your needs. That’s where Total Roof Protection excels on a daily basis.
Growing Forward
Today, Total Roof Protection is an expanding organization, with three different offices located in DFW, Oklahoma City, and Houston. Cole and Daphne own the DFW location and lead an eight-person team consisting of an office administrator, multiple project managers that are assigned to every job, and a general manager who oversees all of the details when it comes to material orders, scheduling, and insurance company closing out claims. Leading Service
As owner/operator, Cole founded the company with his wife, Daphne Simonson. “I like when we can find a solution that helps the homeowner out. We don’t get calls unless people have problems. But that problem has several different ways to fix it,” Cole emphasizes. “We enjoy finding people the most cost-effective way to fix the problem.” Evolution of a Leader
Total Roof Protection has quickly evolved into position as a reliable leader in the area.
Cole and his team members do their best to go the extra mile when it comes to providing leading service. “Most of our business comes from real estate agents and them helping their clients get issues resolved. The process is pretty easy. A person calls us and gives us some information about what’s going on and what problem they’re having. Almost always it has to do with a leak or damage found by an inspector. Once they call us, we schedule a time for a project manager to come out and analyze and assess what’s going on,” Cole explains. “Once we look at that, if we see an issue, we find the best solution for them. If they have a single missing shingle, we’ll fix that. If it’s 65 shingles, we’ll walk them through the insurance claims process.” There When You Need Them
As Cole points out, “In 2018 we started this as a warranty company. In fact, we are still the only company approved by TREC to offer an adverse weather warranty on roofs that covers damages from rain, wind, sleet, and hail. To become legal with TREC, we have evolved into being a full-fledged roofing company.”

Providing balance and value on an ongoing basis is second nature to the team at Total Roof Protection. “We come up with different solutions, including the fastest and cheapest ways,” Cole says. “We present clients with several options and guide them through our recommendation on what would best suit their needs.” In the process, Cole and the team are there at your side.

“This whole company is a family-owned company. DFW was our first office. It’s owned by me and my wife,” Cole points out.
subsidiary… So we have been very selective and careful to bring in people who share the same values and purpose we have. Biff and Heidi in Houston and Jeremy and Senka in Oklahoma City are two perfect examples.” Away from work, Cole and Daphne look forward to time with their children. CCAR: in the know Written by: Bri Westbury, Content Specialist at Collin County Association of REALTORS®
CCAR Makes A Space for You The Collin County Association of REALTORS® (CCAR) has seen tremendous growth over the past ten years, and to continue to provide our members with the quality programs and services they deserve, CCAR will construct a 12,000 square foot Education and Events Center. The Education and Events Center will be built directly behind CCAR’s current Plano headquarters and will preserve some of the outdoor green space for members to enjoy while at the new facility. “CCAR bought the approximately 3.2-acre parcel behind the Plano headquarters location in 2020 to accommodate membership growth,” recalls Nick Kline, CCAR Past President and Building Committee Co-Chair. “After reviewing proposals
from multiple contractors and architects and a thorough vetting process, a unanimous decision was made among the CCAR Building Committee, CCAR Board of Directors, and Budget and Finance Committee. Then, a membership vote via Zoom concluded that McRight-Smith Construction is the best company for the job, and we are ready to move forward with the next phase. This is a huge direction for our future and only possible with so many like-minded individuals within CCAR who got us here. Plans are currently being drafted, and we plan to start moving dirt within the next few months.” While things will be moving quickly from here on out, the road to this point has been slow, methodical, and prioritized membership needs with fiduciary responsibility. The process began almost ten years ago and has been led by numerous CCAR volunteer leaders with a big vision.

avenues from Allen to McKinney. We looked at and made offers on land. However, none worked out. When the land became available behind our current Plano location, we knew it was the right opportunity at the right time. We executed a contract on the land in 2019 and closed in 2020. Now it’s time to build for the future.” CCAR looks forward to providing agents throughout Collin County with a place to meet with clients, a comfortable location to knock out work between showings, space to provide top-notch real estate training and a hub for networking events. “This is what our members deserve. They need a space to learn, send some emails, meet with clients and colleagues, and shop for signage. And now that space is within sight with projected completion in the fall or winter of 2022,” said CCAR President Ron Leach. CCAR will continue to use the current headquarters building in Plano for staff offices, meeting/classroom space, and the REALTOR® Store. Satellite offices will continue to be utilized for the convenience of our members throughout Collin County.
“This has been a long time coming and would not be possible without all of the leaders who came before us,” said CCAR Past President and Building Committee Chair Melissa Hailey. “After more than ten years and an extensive search, we exhausted all
“The Association always has and will continue to provide our members with the tools and resources they need to succeed, and this new building will help us do that,” said Mary Leidy, CCAR Chief Executive Officer. “However, our members work all over Collin County and beyond. We want to make sure they can easily access a CCAR location to purchase signs, key boxes, and receive MLS support. The new Education and Events Center will be a hub for our members, but satellite offices are not going away. In fact, our members should expect to see more of them in the coming years.” Satellite locations are currently open in McKinney, Dallas, and Wylie. Leading the way is a dream team of sales professionals and escrow officers. Several of those who led the way in production for Lawyers Title last year, include: Janet Suddreth Stephanie Allen Tamera Gaede Rachel Shelton Kelly Berry Janet Suddreth, Sr. VP/ Branch Manager/ Escrow Officer
Janet has reached a leading level of success with her ongoing focus on strong relationships. realproducersmag.com
As Janet says, “For me, it’s about getting to work with, and meet, new people every day. If it’s their first time buying a home, to their 15th home purchase, it’s the relationships I have with my clients and their customers that stands out for me.” One of the most gratifying parts of Janet’s work is being part of what she calls the fantastic team at Lawyers Title. “They go above and beyond on every single file and truly are always thinking of the client first. We have a work-hard/play-hard attitude, and we approach our days with enthusiasm,” Janet says. “They are my work family through and through. Brandi
Dosser is always there to help you days, nights, or weekends. She is a huge part of why Lawyers Title is so successful.” Janet shares a bond in the business with two of her family members who have followed in her footsteps, including her son, Michael, and her daughter, Shannon. “They both love working in this industry as much as I do,” she says with a smile. In her free time, Janet enjoys time at the beach, reading an engaging book with a glass of good wine, and feeding all the birds and squirrels in her yard. North DFW Real Producers • 55
Each day, Janet applies her driven brand of caring to work for others. Stephanie Allen, Senior Vice President, Director of Sales Development
Those who work with Stephanie are served with her 22 years of industry experience, including the past two and a half years with Lawyers Title. Her passion for her work is easy to see. “I am genuinely excited about helping others rise. My mission is always to be impactful by listening to their needs, being creative, and giving real value. I understand the challenges my clients face. When they conquer those challenges, reach their goals, and push their capacity to achieve, it’s a win for me,” Stephanie says.
Brandi Dosser, VP Director of Operations/Attorney
56 • October 2021
Stephanie is happy to be part of a team that has what she calls an “unmatched client focus.”
When it comes to family, Stephanie is proud to hear comparisons people make between her and her mother, Rita, who passed in 2009.
“Our team is simply exceptional. They are my work family! We have so much fun together, and our mission is all the same … to serve with abundance,” she points out. “As a salesperson, I feel honored and privileged to represent such a powerhouse on the front lines every day. I am so very thankful for my amazing clients and business partners that have made my business what it is.”
“People say we have the same strength, laugh, and joy for life,” she smiles. “My father, Tom, is a forensic psychologist, and both of my parents were phenomenal influences on me. I couldn’t have asked for better role models and parents. My sister, Stacey, is two years older, and I admire her warmth and compassion for people.”
Throughout her career, she has been recognized as a leading sales professional in her industry and now she adds that recognition nationally from Fidelity National Financial and its family of title companies.
In her free time, Stephanie likes taking walks, spending time with her golden doodles, exercising, traveling, listening to audiobooks, decorating, organizing, and spending time with her friends and family.
Tamera Gaede, Collin County Director of Sales

I would never have the level of success I’ve enjoyed without them. They are the most dedicated group of professionals I’ve ever had the experience to work with and truly believe God intervened when I was recruited to come join them,” Tamera says. “I am truly taken aback every day at their level of dedication to each other and the client experience.”
In 2020, Tamera was named the number-one sales rep at Lawyers Title and top 10% of sales reps at Fidelity National Financial nationwide. Among those applauding Tamera’s success is her dad, Chuck Gaede. “I know he is super proud of all I’ve accomplished,” she smiles. “He’s watched me become super focused on my goals and always cheers me on to keep going!” Tamera looks forward to time with her family and friends, and her Westie, Peanut. She also enjoys boating and travel. A big part of Tamera’s dedication to others is continually learning and growing. As she smiles, “I’m always driven for success and never settle for mediocrity. I always come from a standpoint of ‘How can I help you?’ And, I am a true competitor, in the best way!” Rachel Shelton, VP/Escrow officer
Rachel has been a proud member of the Lawyers Title team for the past four and a half years. “There are new experiences every day, so I’m always learning and growing. It’s very rewarding to close first-time homebuyers who are excited about realizing their dream of owning a home,” Rachel says. “Satisfied customers are our goal at the end of the day, and we’re always excited when we hear we’ve exceeded expectations.” She appreciates the true family feel she shares with her team at Lawyers Title. “We always try to find the humor in our experiences during our long days. In 2020, Rachel was named the number-one Escrow Officer at Lawyers Title and top 2% of Escrow Officers at Fidelity National Financial nationwide. Away from work, Rachel cherishes time with family, including her husband, John, and her daughter, Alex. “Without the support of my family, the long hours and hard work I put into this job wouldn’t be possible,” she says with a warm smile. “I am so thankful they are understanding and supportive of my career.”

As she says, “Someone on the team is always willing to lend a helping hand to make sure we all provide the best in service to our clients!” Kelly is proud that 2020 has been the most successful year the Frisco office has had during her tenure with the team. It was also her highest-producing year personally. Family is at the heart of life for Kelly. She feels deep gratitude for her husband, John. “I really appreciate all the support he gives me during our busiest time,” she says. “He is my rock, and I wouldn’t know what to do without him.” Stephanie Allen, Sr. VP Director of Sales Development, and Janet Suddreth, Sr. VP/Branch Manager/Escrow Officer

FAQ ABOUT THIS MAGAZINE
Real Producers magazine started in Indianapolis in 2015 and is now in over 100 markets across the nation and spreading rapidly. North DFW Real Producers launched in August 2018. Name a large city, and we are there or will be soon! In every market, we take the Top 500 agents, based off of the MLS production, and we build an exclusive magazine around those agents. We share their stories, successes, market trends, upcoming events — really, anything that will connect, inform and inspire, we put in the monthly publication. We strive to inform and inspire the top-producing real estate agents in the local market and connect them socially. The secondary focus is to provide an avenue for our affiliate partners to create relationships with these top performers on a level that they might not be able to achieve on their own. Q: WHO RECEIVES NORTH DFW REAL PRODUCERS MAGAZINE? A: The top 500 agents in North Dallas/Fort Worth. We pull the MLS numbers (by volume) from in the North DFW area: Collin County, Denton County, and a few other locations in Dallas County that are North of I-635. Approximately 20,000 agents are licensed in this territory. We cut the list off at number 500, and the distribution was born. The 2020 Top 500 cutoff is $9.4 million. The list will reset at the end of every year and will continue to update annually. Q: WHAT ABOUT THE DALLAS AND FORT WORTH TERRITORIES? A: Dallas Real Producers (Dallas County South of 635 — including Rockwall County) launched May 2019 and Tarrant Real Producers launched in March of 2021. Yes, Real Producers is covering the entire Metroplex! Q: WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR BEING FEATURED IN THIS MAGAZINE? A: It’s really simple — every feature you see has first been nominated. You can nominate other REALTORS®, affiliates, brokers, owners, or even yourself! Office leaders can also realproducersmag.com
nominate REALTORS®. We will consider anyone brought to our attention who is in the Top 500 because we don’t know everyone’s story, so we need your help to learn about them. A nomination currently looks like this: You email us at northdfw@realproducersmag.com with the subject line, “Nomination: (Name of Nominee).” Please explain why you are nominating them to be featured. It could be they have an amazing story that needs to be told — perhaps they overcame extreme obstacles, they are an exceptional leader, have the best customer service, or they give back to the community in a big way, etc. The next step is an interview with us to ensure it’s a good fit. If it all works out, then we put the wheels in motion for our writer to conduct an interview to write the article and for our photographers to schedule a photoshoot. Q: WHAT DOES IT COST A REALTOR® /TEAM TO BE FEATURED? A: Zero, zilch, zippo, nada, nil. It costs nothing, my friends, so nominate away! We are not a pay-to-play model. We share real stories of real producers. Q: WHO ARE THE PREFERRED PARTNERS? A: Anyone listed as a “preferred partner” in the front of the magazine is a part of this community. They will have an ad in every issue of the magazine, attend our quarterly events, and be a part of our online community. We don’t just find these businesses off the street, nor do we work with all businesses that approach us. One of many of the top agents has recommended every single preferred partner you see in this publication. We won’t even meet with a business that has not been vetted by one of you and “stamped for approval,” in a sense. Our goal is to create a powerhouse network, not only for the best REALTORS® in the area but the best affiliates, as well, so we can grow stronger together. Q: HOW CAN I RECOMMEND A PREFERRED PARTNER? A: If you know and want to recommend a local business that works with top REALTORS®, please email us to let us know at jordan.espeseth@realproducersmag.com. North DFW Real Producers • 61

F LO U R I S H I N G I N FA I T H It can be easy to be limited by fear … to turn inward and hope for something better. But true possibility lies in choosing to move forward in faith … and believing in the best. Rosemary Lewis is a shining example of that strength of purpose in the world. As a REALTOR® with eXp Realty, Rosemary and her family are truly flourishing in faith. Loss, Love, and a New Life
Those who know Rosemary today see her energy and exuberance — a zest for life that makes a difference for her clients and those around her. Yet, the Chicago native has faced a lot in her life … a path that prepared her for her blessings. “Nine months before I was born, my 17-year-old sister died of cancer,” Rosemary says. “Since then, I’ve lost five of my siblings, including my brother, who was murdered when I was 13 years old. It was such a pivotal time in my life to experience that kind of loss.” In high school, Rosemary met the man who would become her husband … Corey. “Corey is an entrepreneur. For a while, that made me uncomfortable,” Rosemary remembers. “But God used his tenacity for life to break down some walls for me in life … and live life a little bigger. My husband has always been a real estate realproducersmag.com
investor. In 2006, he was flipping houses. He opened up a new business, and we got to a point where things were going well, but I knew there had to be something more. God was pushing us toward something.” Rosemary started her career as a teacher … one she would cherish for 14 years. She and Corey started their family. In time, their son was ready for high school. “Chicago was changing at the time,” she recalls. “So we moved to the suburbs to shield us from what was happening. As time moved on, things became more uncomfortable and we were concerned about his safety in high school. Tragically, one of our friends was murdered near a place where we had gone on a date a week before.” It was 2013, and Rosemary and Corey made a decision. They looked for a new place to call home. “We looked at the things we wanted … a progressive city, a good real estate market, and good schools. As part of that, I wanted a good school district to teach in,” Rosemary explains. “So we Googled all these places, and Texas popped up. The very first place we visited was Dallas. We felt led here.” Finding Their Texas Home
On her birthday, Rosemary and Corey visited. “On the plane on the way back to Chicago, he said, ‘Okay, we’re going there,’” she remembers. “Our family didn’t understand. I’m the only living child that my mom has. Yet, I felt peace that there was more for us here. Our family, house, and business were in Chicago, but we decided this was the place that held more for us.” In 2014, they made the move to Dallas. It wasn’t long before Corey earned his real estate license. In the meantime, Rosemary had started the Texas phase of her teaching career. North DFW Real Producers • 65
Rosemary with her husband, Corey, and their sons, Corey Drevon and Cameron
“I had joked that when I quit teaching that I would be a REALTOR®. Corey and I talked about how my skill set would complement his,” she says. “When the economic downturn had hit, my job had been the stable thing with my insurance. As time went on, though, I loved my school and teaching the kids, but I felt there needed to be a shift in my life.”
“The pastor had talked about being obedient. It was at that time that I audibly heard God say, ‘Go help.’ In that moment, I told my husband that I was going to get my real estate license. When we got home, Corey immediately paid for my classes before I could change my mind,” she smiles. Finding Strength Above
A True Calling
One day during a drive home from church in 2016, Rosemary thought about the message she had heard during the sermon that day. 66 • October 2021
A flurry of events followed. After getting her license, Rosemary tried out a few brokerages before settling on a team with eXp Realty. She worked hard, followed the plan, and saw results. @realproducers
A lot of times in life, I’ve listened to people who were trying to protect me but wanted me to act out of fear. I’m grateful that we stepped out and followed this direction. Our family has been led by God. “I received really good coaching and just did the work. That’s when my relationship with God also grew. I had to totally depend on Him. I thought about Matthew, Chapter 14, in the Bible. That’s when Jesus told the disciples to go out into the boat, yet he was nowhere to be found. That’s how I felt. I thought, ‘God you told me to do this, but now where are you? I feel like I’m failing in business and in keeping up with my kids,” she explains. “In the Bible, the disciples remained in the boat until the third watch of night when a storm came. In those moments, Jesus was watching them. He had never left them. And then he walked on water to come to them. It was one of the greatest miracles. If they hadn’t had that experience, they may not have understood or received the miracle as much as they did. I knew this was God. He used this to help me grow closer to Him and all of the people he has allowed me to impact in life.” realproducersmag.com
North DFW Real Producers • 67
Through the last few years, Rosemary has continued to learn and grow in the profession. In fact, through July of this year, she had already recorded over $16.25 million in sales volume. Fulfillment
Away from work, Rosemary cherishes time with Corey and their sons — Corey Drevon and Cameron.
She is also active in their church and looks forward to sushi nights with her girlfriends. As Rosemary considers the changes she and her family have experienced in their lives, and the wonderful life they have, she feels blessed.
In her free time, Rosemary loves time on her Peloton®. She and Corey also regularly produce their own informational podcast entitled Eagle Talk with Team Lewis. Plus, Rosemary founded the Agent Education Academy online (www.AgentEducationAcademy.com).
“My mantra is do it scared. What I found is that, when you take a risk, the rewards can be amazing. Moving here has strengthened my marriage. Also, our kids are healthy and thriving. This helped me have a full dependency on Jesus,” she says. “A lot of times in life, I’ve listened to people who were trying to protect me but wanted me to act out of fear. I’m grateful that we stepped out and followed this direction. Our family has been led by God.”
“Corey and I talk about a wide range of topics, from relationships and marriage to real estate and Jesus,” she says.
Truly, Rosemary makes a positive impact on those around her. With the next phase of life in a new home, she and her family are clearly flourishing in faith.

Laura Barnett proves that point through the impact of her career. As Broker Associate with RE/MAX DFW Associates, Laura inspires others. She also inspires confidence — by perfecting what’s possible for her clients. “I think it’s a good thing for each of us to remember that each day is a different day with a different economy, client, personality, along with new contracts and laws,” Laura says. “This business is a true journey, and we have got to navigate our career even though we don’t have total control. It is a little like playing cards; we look at what we’ve been dealt and decide what we’re going to play next. But by playing every day, you get pretty good at it.”

Early Visions
Even growing up, Laura had early visions of what her future career could look like. “My dad was a broker. I knew when I went to college what I wanted to do for a profession. I majored in Real Estate and Finance, and I knew that I would be doing something in the business,” Laura explains. Still, Laura took time to ensure that she had a very well-rounded view of the industry. “I didn’t want to sell real estate at first, so I took positions working in mortgage, title, and property management companies,” she remembers. Realizing Her Dreams
It wasn’t long before Laura knew it was time to take steps into life as a REALTOR®. It was 1991. “I thought would try it, and if I didn’t make at least $30,000 my first year, I wouldn’t do it,” Laura recalls. Her answer came quickly. Laura exceeded her goal that year. But that was just the start. The next year she doubled that number … then kept going year-by-year. In 2020, Laura recorded an astonishing total of 63 units, representing $30 million in sales volume. And she achieves that as an individual agent with a supportive team of professionals she is very grateful for. “I have a phenomenal team. Alex is my right-hand assistant. He is a tech whiz and a social media expert who makes a big difference. I’m also very lucky to have Danielle supporting me. She’s been with me for a while now,” Laura says.
“I’m so blessed to have the people I have working with me. We try to make everything fun. Yes, there are obviously hard realities in this business, but we try to laugh in spite of it all. It’s a waste of time to worry and get upset. It’s best to just move forward.” Enjoying the Journey
Beyond the numbers, Laura gets the deep satisfaction of joining her clients on their journey. “I love to listen to people and hear their stories,” she emphasizes. “Sometimes people tell you things you aren’t expecting to hear. It’s like you get a bonus vacation by seeing their lives through the process, hearing their dreams, and learning about the goals they’ve had and the things they’ve achieved during their lives. Some of my best friends were past clients.” Life’s Foundations
Laura’s life is made richer by family and friends. She looks forward to time with her children — her son, Joe, and her daughter, B, her fiancé, Paul, her family and lots of great friends. In her free time, Laura enjoys time spent outdoors. “I have a large yard and do a lot of devotionals in the morning,” she smiles. “I have a strong faith in God, and he has seen me through a lot of storms and performed a lot of miracles that I never thought would have happened.” Giving back to her community is a big part of Laura’s world, too. She enjoys supporting local high schools. “This community has been very good to me,” she emphasizes. “I will always support them because they have been great to work with.”

Proof Positive
Laura leads by example. One way is through her positivity. “You can’t be thin-skinned in this line of work. You have to have grit and determination. There will be those rare people who will say things that are highly offensive or some that will choose different agents … but that’s when you just wish them the best and then say, ‘Next.’ You can’t dwell on the negatives,” she points out. “There will be people who say you can’t do it, or encourage you to give up, but if you stick with it, and do a good job, and make it a point to know your game, doors will start to open for you. That’s the way it’s supposed to be.” One of the most rewarding parts of Laura’s work is the chance to be a reliable resource far beyond the closing table. “It is really fun to wow your clients and give them more than they expected, even after closing!” “I always want my clients to know that I’m an agent they can call back for decades with questions, such as a contractor name, or a situation that they need help with,” she smiles. “I like pointing them in the right direction.”
