ngela LaBounty’s journey from an executive level medical sales professional to a distinguished real estate Broker associate reveals a journey woven with dedication, passion, and an unwavering commitment to her clients. Born in New Mexico but whisked back to Texas before she was a year old by her proud Texan father, Angela’s childhood, peppered with the spirited dynamics of growing up sandwiched between two brothers, instilled in her a certain grit and tenacity. As Angela recounted with a chuckle, “Growing up as the only girl in the middle of two brothers taught me a lot of survival skills from an early age!” But life had more surprises in store for her. In a poignant twist, 3 years ago Angela discovered she had an unknown, long-lost sister, adding another thread to her intricate narrative.

With her roots firmly planted in Arlington, Angela’s early years echoed a theme of hard work and determination. “My mom has always had the strongest work ethic of anyone I’ve ever known. I’m proud that she instilled that in me,” she reflected. Indeed, Angela’s robust work ethic saw her diving into the workforce as early as 16, managing a clothing store while balancing high school.
Launching into the world of real estate after a fulfilling 34-year career, Angela’s transition was fueled by a fiery passion. “I’m passionate about being the very best I can be to represent my clients at the highest level,” she declared. And it’s this passion that shines brightly, as Angela emphasized her relentless pursuit of knowledge and learning, crediting esteemed mentors like Fran Hoover.
As Angela fondly reminisced about her past career, it’s evident that her journey was anything but ordinary. “I sold drugs,” she began with a mischievous glint in her eye, before elaborating, “For over 34 years, I held various sales and marketing roles within the medical/pharmaceutical industry.” This vibrant history included a moment where her young son innocently disclosed her profession of selling drugs to his teacher, leading to an amusing school intervention. These years in a demanding field cultivated a unique skill set, positioning Angela perfectly for her next adventure. “I learned to successfully negotiate at high levels in a demanding, competitive environment,” she affirmed, “which has definitely proven valuable in real estate!”
She recounted the multifaceted joys of her profession, from the thrill of fitting puzzle pieces together to secure the dream home for clients to the heartwarming tales of firsttime homebuyers embarking on their homeownership journey. “Recently, I worked with a firsttime homebuyer whose parents gave up everything they had to move to America so their children could have a better education and quality of life,” Angela recounts. “She was the first person in her family to graduate from college and buy a home in the U.S. The house we found for her had actually been featured on HGTV’s Flip or Flop Fort Worth! Each and every client and their families have been memorable and are truly special to me.”

But it isn’t just her fondness for her clients and professional accolades, like being named KW Southlake Rookie of the Year 2020, that define Angela. Her life outside of realty radiates a zest for living. Whether it’s basking in the summer sun atop Colorado’s peaks, pedaling her bike, or practicing Pilates, Angela’s vivacity is evident. Yet, for all her accomplishments and adventures, Angela’s heart remains with her family. A poignant loss of her brother has accentuated the significance of cherishing moments with loved ones. Today, she finds joy in watching her grandchildren grow and in the rare leisurely travels with her husband, even if they’re “centered around his insatiable love of golf.” To the budding REALTORS® and producers looking to carve their niche, Angela’s advice is clear-cut: “Align yourself with like-minded professionals. From a serene bedroom view during her formative years, Roxann’s story unfolds with dramatic turns. “For the initial 21 years of my life, my bedroom window offered a breathtaking view of Monterey Bay,” she reminisces. Yet, life had more in store for her than the picturesque scenes of California. The narrative shifted gears when her role as a military spouse led to 12 relocations within 16 years, crossing six countries and acquiring a magna cum laude business/accounting degree and working on her master’s in marketing along the way. Such experiences and education enriched her, molding her into an individual well-equipped to understand diverse cultures and lifestyles. However, life’s trials did not escape her. Eventually landing in North Carolina, Roxann’s entry into the real estate realm in the 70s with 22% interest rates was marked by determination and resilience. “My most significant challenge arose when I was relocated to Texas in 1997 with a new name and social security number as a victim of domestic violence. I had
to restart my career in a completely unfamiliar environment, without the luxury of existing connections,” she shared candidly. “All I had was a car I paid $2,000 for, a few dollars in my pocket, a cat, and one suitcase of clothes. I immediately got on my feet and set out to build a network, with a goal of meeting 25 people a week, something I still do to this day.” Since she started her CRM in 1998, it has grown to more than 61,000 contacts, each one met personally by Roxann. Despite the challenges of her early life, Roxann emerged stronger and more formidable, reflecting the fighter spirit she so passionately embodies. Roxann’s foundation in real estate was solidified, not just by her personal experiences and being in the right place at the right time but also by her familial legacy. “My mother earned her engineering degree in the 1930s,” she shared. Roxann’s mother, a trailblazer in her own right, undoubtedly influenced her eventual entry into the world of home construction and real estate. It

was no surprise that she followed a similar path, overseeing the implementation of roads, streets, sidewalks, and septic tanks. “I made history as the first licensed woman general contractor in North Carolina,” Roxann explains, “specializing in constructing residential homes. I also served as the president of my local home builders’ association.” The allure of the real estate sector for Roxann is evident. When asked about her favorite aspect, she says with genuine enthusiasm, “Each morning, I wake up with anticipation, excited about the day ahead, and I never once think, ‘Ugh, I have to go to work.’” Yet, her focus has shifted from one of personal achievement. Her passion now lies in equipping and nurturing those around her, ensuring their success. “My goal is to empower the real estate advisors working alongside me, enabling them to nurture their careers and establish their own name in the industry,” she stated. Reflecting on the rewarding elements of her work, Roxann asserts, “Positively impacting someone else’s life and being acknowledged for surpassing our clients’ expectations is profoundly meaningful.”

In an industry often dominated by numbers, Roxann’s approach is refreshingly people-centric. “No matter how much technology is out there, success in real estate comes from personal relationships,” she advises budding real estate professionals. This belief aligns perfectly with the motto of Engel & Völkers - linking together the aspirations of discerning individuals around the world with total passion. But Roxann is no stranger to awards and accolades spanning her lengthy career in real estate. The award she is most proud of, however, is the Cup Award, which is given each year for the top E&V shop in the entire world. “We were at the international convention, and when they called our name for this award, I cried,” Roxann candidly shared. She was able to celebrate this award with 51 of her agents who joined her on the trip, which was not only an important milestone in her career, but also very moving and profound for her and the agents she mentors. Roxann’s dedication extends beyond her immediate profession. As a testament to her big-hearted

The daughter of an orthopedic surgeon, she embarked on a career in the medical field after acquiring a degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University. Lacy admits, “I formed a distributorship and hired reps to cover spine surgeries across the DFW metroplex for 13 years.” But it was during this journey in the medical sphere, watching physicians venture into real estate and build medical offices and surgery centers, that the seed of property interest took root. In 2017, amidst the anticipation of welcoming her second son, she transitioned from medical devices to property sales, merging her love for healthcare and real estate. “I wanted to branch into real estate and merge it with my medical background,” she shared. MASTERCLASS Dob Hobbs On September 27th, North Fort Worth and Fort Worth Real Producers hosted a Masterclass event in the Fort Worth Stockyard at Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall. Such a great venue! Our speaker, Don Hobbs, provided some powerful information on “How to Become a Market Dominator” and absolutely blew it out of the water. Everyone loved him and his message. We also raised thousands of dollars for Love Justice International, a powerful organization that is making a huge impact in the fight against human trafficking. We are so grateful to be a part of a community that gives back in big ways. After the message, we had a beautiful time of highlevel networking with some light bites and drinks.
