With last year having 700 in attendance, we know that this year is going to be another incredibly special event. THE RELENTLESS PURSUIT OF RESULTS In the world of real estate, Alex Piech has over two decades of experience. As the Team Lead of Evolve Real Estate Group, brokered by eXp Realty, Alex’s journey to success is marked by a passion for delivering outstanding customer results and a relentless pursuit of excellence in sales and marketing. “I’m originally from Connecticut and grew up in a small town called Naugatuck. I’m a second- generation REALTOR®. My father was a real estate Broker, and he flipped homes when I was growing up. That started my introduction to real estate,” says Alex, reminiscing about his early exposure to the industry. “I worked on

renovating homes with my father from my early teen years until I eventually got licensed in 2003 at the age of 20.” The journey to his real estate career was paved with entrepreneurial endeavors that began when he was 15. “I started my first business selling and installing aftermarket car parts and stereo equipment,” he shares. “I was in retail sales for a sporting goods store from 16 until 22 years old working two jobs. I graduated from Western Connecticut State University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration but started working with my father at his independent brokerage in 2003.”

At the age of 22, Alex became one of the youngest RE/MAX franchise owners and would go on to build a successful brokerage. “The highlight of owning my RE/MAX franchise was when my team of agents became the most productive per agent real estate brokerage in the area,” says Alex, “with my agents closing 2.5 times more transactions per agent than the closest competing brokerage.” Reflecting on his career, Alex emphasizes his passion for providing expert advice to clients. “The thing that I’m most passionate about right now is making sure that people are receiving the best possible expert advice that allows them to formulate the best plan or strategy for their needs,” he asserts, highlighting his commitment to being a trusted advisor in real estate. “The most rewarding part of my business is that I get to help people/families start the next chapter of their lives,” Alex explains. “Buying or selling a home almost always coincides with a chapter or phase of life, whether it’s getting married and buying your first home, moving up to a bigger home when a family expands, or downsizing for an empty nester. Peoples’ homes play such an important role in each phase of life. I love that I get to be a part of that.” While Alex’s career has seen great success, he faced a significant challenge in 2008 during the downturn of the real estate market. “My biggest challenge as a REALTOR®, by far, was navigating the 2008 housing and mortgage crash,” he recalls. “I had to pivot my entire brokerage to assisting homeowners and helping them avoid foreclosures.”

A Journey of Authenticity In the sprawling metropolis of Dallas-Fort Worth, where highrises and new developments are a dime a dozen, finding a real estate agent with genuine authenticity is a rarity. But in the bustling offices of Ebby Halliday, there’s a REALTOR® who has made it her mission to not only find the perfect home for her clients but to make sure the journey feels just like coming home. Meet Stephanie Fontenot, an agent who radiates approachability and wears her South Louisiana roots on her sleeve.
Stephanie’s story begins on the banks of the Vermillion River amidst the oak-lined streets of Lafayette, Louisiana. “Growing up in Lafayette was a joyous experience filled with friends, snow cones, swimming, and riding bikes,” Stephanie reminisces. CECILIA HAMPTON’S JOURNEY TO REAL ESTATE
Miles away from Chengdu, China, Cecilia Hampton is challenging the norms of the real estate industry, demonstrating what it means to be a “Woman in Development.” With a career that spans over two decades, her tale is a testament to perseverance, ambition, and the power of teamwork. “Love team work,” she proclaims, “Everyone together achieves more!” And for her, that’s more than a catchphrase; it’s a way of life.

In 2010, Cecilia arrived from Chengdu – the fifth-largest city and, quite fittingly, the homeland of the resilient and beloved panda bear. Coming from a bustling metropolis that juxtaposed modernity with tradition, Cecilia’s journey to real estate started in her home country in 2000 working as an HR assistant manager for a property management company. In 2003, she started working for a developer as HR director and sales director. “Real estate was my career from the beginning,” she admits, her eyes shining with pride.
Indeed, her journey hasn’t been without its challenges. One can imagine the balancing act of juggling family and business, especially when the business entails such significant investments of time and energy. “When I became a full-time self-employed real estate professional, it was a first big challenge,” she recalls. Moving to hire full-time employees and eventually becoming a developer were daunting, even more so in an industry where women’s representation is scant. But for Cecilia, every challenge was an opportunity. “I always like to explore the niche that I can work harder and smarter from, and do the things others are not willing to do,” she adds with determination.
Today, Cecilia’s passion shines brightest when she witnesses the transformation of spaces. From raw plots of land to vibrant communities filled with homeowners, companies, and restaurants, she explains, “I am passionate when I see a project from raw land become alive with people walking, driving, playing, and becoming iconic locations. A Paradigm Shift in Training Requirements
Recognizing the importance of fair housing education, NAR has recently introduced a new training requirement that will reshape the industry’s landscape. Starting in 2025, all new NAR member applicants must complete two hours of fair housing training. Existing members will be required to complete two hours of fair housing training every three years. This requirement aligns with NAR’s existing Code of Ethics training mandate, emphasizing the association’s commitment to ethical conduct in the real estate profession.
In a significant development, Fairhaven itself will be updated to align with the new training requirements, making it a qualifying course that fulfills the two-hour minimum time frame. This inclusion ensures that all members have access to a no-cost option for fulfilling their fair housing training obligations.
