Big Changes Coming to Real Producers This Year publisher’s note If you are reading this, then you should give yourself a big pat on the back! That means you have made the Real Producers Top 500 list for 2022! CONGRATS! For some of you, this is the first time you are receiving this publication, and you may not know entirely what it is all about yet. Others of you have been receiving the Real Producers publication every month since 2018. Either way, you will want to tune in to the rest of this publisher’s note, because I am going to give you a bit of a recap on what we’re all about, as well as fill you in on some new and exciting changes that are coming to Real Producers in 2022. First, you are receiving this magazine because you are a Top 500 producing real estate agent (based off your annual MLS production numbers) in your given area! That means that each month you will receive this publication, which is exclusive for the highest producing agents in the market, every single month, for the next 11 months. Consider it a badge of honor! Being in the Top 500, you also have the opportunity to be featured in our publication to share your story, and, the beautiful thing is, there is no cost to you. It is a testament to you and your hard work! We certainly cannot guarantee a feature, but if you would like to be considered for one, here are a few quick tips to increase your chances: Meet up with a member of our team, support Real Producers, and attend our private events (three events/year). If that doesn’t work for you, we also accept large sums of money. Kidding! No agent can buy their way into Real Producers. All of the businesses that are a part of Real Producers have been recommended by top-producing agents and vetted by us. They are our Real Producers Vetted

Businesses, and this community could not be possible without them! If you are looking for some of the best businesses in the market to work with, look no further than here. There are currently three Real Producers’ markets in DFW: North Dallas, Dallas, and North Fort Worth. Last year, Tarrant County was one publication, called Tarrant Real Producers, and after some contemplation and a year of being in print, we realized that Tarrant County really should be split up into two different markets. So, starting with this issue, Tarrant Real Producers is now split into North Fort Worth and Fort Worth Real Producers. Fort Worth Real Producers is currently in ramp-up and won’t be in print until later 2022. That means that out of the approximately 60,000 licensed real estate agents in DFW, Real Producers collectively brings together the top 2,000 producing real estate agents and vetted businesses! Huge congrats to each and every one of you. Be sure to reference the DFW Map and FAQ Page in this publication for more details. Last year was an amazing one for the Real Producers community, and we cannot wait to raise the bar in 2022! Cheers, Jordan Espeseth Owner jordan.epseseth@realproducersmag.com

T
HOSE WHO GROW TOWARD THEIR POTENTIAL IN ANY BUSINESS DO SO BY DEDICATING THEMSELVES TO WHAT THEY DO … TO THEIR PURPOSE.
As a REALTOR® with Keller Williams Realty, Cheryl lifts others toward their goals by relishing her role.
“I love serving my clients, and I want them to know they are important to me. Buying and selling a home can be a stressful experience, and my goal is to eliminate as much stress as possible. Communication and accessibility to my clients’ needs is an important facet of my business model. Even after closing, my customer service doesn’t end. It continues as I make myself available as the first point of contact for any questions, guidance, or service providers my clients might need,” Cheryl says. “All of my clients’ phone numbers are on my contact list, so I know who is calling when they call. No matter why they call or what they need, I love the relational aspect of interacting with clients and helping them. That’s the best part of my day. Coming from a social-work background, it was helping people … at the end of the day when I know I’ve done something great for someone and made a positive impact, that gives me satisfaction.”
Development from Texas Tech and her master’s degree from the University of Houston.
Early Glimpses
Getting Her Start
Cheryl earned her real estate license about six years ago. But there were glimpses of her future career in the business dating back to her childhood.
After a couple of years in social work, Cheryl started her family and had two sons.
“I grew up in a real estate family. My father was a real estate broker specializing in farm/ranch, commercial, and land. I grew up hearing about real estate deals at the dinner table and understanding its concept,” she remembers.
“As they got older, I wanted to do something else, and I thought real estate was a great option. I had some background understanding of the business from my father, and I saw it as still a wonderful way of helping people. So, I got my license and dug in.”
At first, Cheryl pursued another direction professionally, going into social work, having earned a degree in Human
Cheryl pursued the business parttime for her first year before realizing she needed to dive in full-time.
20 • February 2022
@realproducers
Like most entering the business, she faced some initial challenges. “It was hard in the beginning with lead generating and getting business. I had no idea where my next lead was coming from,” Cheryl recalls. “There were many times when I wanted to quit. But I woke up every morning and said, ‘Failure is not an option,’ and I pressed on to do my very best. It was that mindset that got me where I am today.” Growing Ahead
Step-by-step, the going got easier for Cheryl. Her second year saw improved results. And, by her third year, she was honored with the D Magazine Best Real Estate Agent and Five Star Professional Award. Her drive to serve the needs of others spurred her success. realproducersmag.com
North Dallas Real Producers • 21
“Nearly all of my business is based on referrals, which I contribute to the strong relationships and attention I give to my clients. When a client or referral partner sends me business, they confidently know I will take care of that person,” she says. Gaining Ground. Making a Difference.
Cheryl’s first listing was her own home in Willow Bend, which she had under contract in three days. As a result, her impressed neighbor solicited her help in selling his house. However, this second property presented new challenges and opportunities to demonstrate the difference she makes for her clients. “My second listing was outdated and required a lot of work. I knew we had to have a strategy in a luxury neighborhood with competing updated properties for sale. I got in there and helped the seller do some renovations, cleaning, and staging. The home looked completely different, and we got it sold. Through this experience, I saw a need for sellers to have an agent consult on design and assist with strategies to help maximize their home sale profit,” Cheryl says.
“
“On the listing side, I started consulting all sellers on tips and strategies to sell their home quickly and accomplish a positive return on their investment. I saw this as an overall missing piece in real estate. My goal for all my listings is to beat out the competition in the neighborhood. Because I believe staging is so important to a speedy and profitable home sale, I incorporated complimentary professional staging for all my listings that need it. My stager is one of the top stagers in the industry. She works with clients’ furniture, bringing in extra pieces or, many times, we do the entire house. That’s part of my listing service to all my sellers, no matter the price point.”
NO MATTER WHY THEY CALL OR WHAT THEY NEED, I LOVE THE RELATIONAL ASPECT OF INTERACTING WITH CLIENTS AND HELPING THEM.
Family Foundation
For Cheryl, taking care of her clients as an individual agent is a labor of love.
Away from work, Cheryl’s world is made much more rewarding by her family, including her children—Blake (and his wife, Allison); and Weston. In her free time, Cheryl looks forward to time traveling with her family. One of her favorite locations is heading to Colorado once or twice a year. Positive Pride
As Cheryl continues to excel in her business, she takes pride in helping others in the area where she grew up. “I grew up in Richardson and Plano, and have had the privilege of seeing this area evolve. Since childhood, having lived in the North Dallas suburbs, I have a unique perspective of the area and know about the various schools and neighborhoods,” she says. “Through my time being here, I take pride in bringing experiential knowledge to my clients.” 22 • February 2022
“When clients choose me as their real estate agent, they get me, not an assistant. My phone is always ringing, but I enjoy being in that position of following up and taking care of my clients’ needs,” she says with a smile. “I go above and beyond to make them happy and represent them the best way possible. To be successful in this business, you have to care about people. One of the Bold Laws of Keller Williams is ‘Come from contribution.’ I love this, and it resonates with me. I’m so blessed to be in a profession I enjoy while also making a positive contribution to the lives of others.” @realproducers

The Stonebriar Moving Services Team
Each day, you dedicate your experience and expertise to your clients … supporting them in their journey through life. It’s an important advantage for you and your clients when you have a partner who approaches life and business the same way. That’s the edge people get when they work with Tyler and Ashley Edwards and their team at Stonebriar Movers. “I always want the people who work with us to feel that we helped them have the best move of their lives,” Tyler says. “We are very thankful and grateful that they chose us to work with them.”
28 • February 2022
As Ashley says, “We always want to ensure our clients are well taken care of during what can be a very stressful time. It’s most rewarding for us when we feel we have lifted the burden of moving off their shoulders.” Gaining Ground. Creating True Success.
Tyler and Ashley have created a remarkable success story that leaves a positive impact on those around them. When Tyler was 19 years old, he met a gentleman from San Antonio who offered him work. In time, Tyler took him up on his offer. “I ended up moving to San Antonio with $35. I lived on his couch for a
year. Each day, he came and woke me up at 6 a.m. and I would go to work as a mover,” he remembers. About a year later, Tyler moved back to Dallas and rented a Penske truck. “During that time, I pretty much lived in the truck,” Tyler remembers. “I worked through brokers and traveled all over, working with people to move their belongings.” Over the next few years, Tyler worked with various moving companies. He made it a point to take away all the good practices the companies were doing, and also took note of where improvements could be made.
@realproducers
Taking all the knowledge he picked up, he decided to start his own company. In 2012, he and his wife bought their first moving truck, and over the course of the next five years, Tyler was determined to build something to disrupt the industry. He worked every job himself, many times working late into the night only to be up early the next morning starting the whole process again. Ashley booked every job, spending as much time as each client needed on the phone; they personally worked every aspect of their business in the early days. They acquired clients through online ads, doorto-door marketing, word of mouth, returning clients, and friends and family. Fast forward to 2015, Tyler wanted to build something bigger. He did just that. He realized that building relationships with REALTORS® would achieve this. He visited numerous brokerages across DFW, getting to know the REALTORS® on a more personal level.
We pride ourselves on being affordable and accountable. We know that our partners’ reputation is on the line when they refer their clients to work with us.

Signs of Success
All of the planning, quality work and service, and dedication have paid off. Today, Stonebriar Movers has a fleet of 11 trucks and two cargo vans and is moving into a new 8,000 square-foot office space in Garland. In the process, they handle residential and commercial jobs of all sizes, and have a team that ranges from 20 crew members up to 50 team members in the summer. “Through my career, I’ve personally handled about 10,000 moves with my own hands, and I’ve been in and out of most of the buildings in town,” Tyler says. “As a result, I really know this business and I’m able to quickly communicate that experience to people who trust us to work with them.”
We take that very seriously,” Tyler points out. “We are always moving forward ourselves … learning and enhancing what we do.” Family Foundation
Away from work, Tyler and Ashley look forward to time spent with their family, including their children — 16-year-old Allyson, 15-year-old Gavin, and 14-year-old Liam. In addition to enjoying time with each other at home in McKinney, they also like to spend time with their three dogs and travel. Gratitude
As Ashley says, she and Tyler feel a big sense of pride and gratitude.
“Tyler and I both started from very humble beginnings. Being able to work really hard, we have seen it pay off. It feels very good being able to employ and help a lot of people. I hope they come away feeling that they were well taken care of and loved on and that we really care about them individually,” she says with a smile. “Someone said, ‘You’ve come a long way.’ But it’s not just by our efforts. It’s God’s. My biggest prayer for us as we started was to help our clients, and the people we employ, and change their lives for the better. I feel that God did it. We did everything that God enabled us to do. He has been there guiding us through everything.” For more information, contact Stonebriar Movers. Phone: 469-267-0052
It all begins with a phone call. Within a few minutes of calling Tyler, you quickly understand his high-energy passion for what he does and the commitment he and his team members have to deliver an exceptional experience for their real estate partners and clients. “We pride ourselves on being affordable and accountable. We know that our partners’ reputation is on the line when they refer their clients to work with us.

Lasting Impact The way you listen to your clients, solve their needs, and get them to the finish line makes a true difference for them. With Mark Karetskiy and Movement Mortgage, you have a lending partner that is there to support you with that same mindset. realproducersmag.com
Mark Karetskiy (NMLS 1254891) is a Certified Mortgage Advisor, Loan Officer, and Team Lead of the Mark Karetskiy Lending Team with Movement Mortgage. As he says, he and his team take pride in making a difference for today and tomorrow. North Dallas Real Producers • 35
“PART OF THE BEAUTY OF MY DAY-TO-DAY IS THAT I WORK WITH PEOPLE I LOVE … BOTH THE PROFESSIONALS AND THE CLIENTS,” MARK EMPHASIZES. “IT MEANS A LOT KNOWING THAT SOMETHING I ARTICULATE TO THEM IN 60 SECONDS OR LESS CAN MAKE AN IMPACT FOR THEM THAT MAY LAST OVER FUTURE GENERATIONS. THAT INSPIRES ME TO DO WHAT I DO.” Finding Opportunity
Mark is grateful to pursue his passion in America. He is a first-generation immigrant. Born in Russia, he moved to Boston with his family when he was seven years old in 1999. “My story starts there. That was definitely a big moment in my life. From there, I had a story of running from the cold,” he says with a smile. “I went to school in New Hampshire to study Economics and International Affairs, and when I graduated, I moved to Maryland to work in the mortgage industry on the refinance side of the business. Through that role, I worked solely with veterans and active duty. By the time I had moved to Texas in April 2018, I had done about 200 VA refinances.”
top producing real estate agents, loan officers, title agents, you name it. If they were at the top of field, I studied them.” “He discovered there was real value that he was equipped to provide to REALTOR® partners,” Mary emphasizes. “I thought about the pain points for a real estate agent. I realized they are on an island, improperly equipped, and had only a couple main ways for them to grow their business … by talking to more people and by converting the people they talk with into clients. So, I started focusing on what we can do to help them achieve those goals.”
Gaining Ground
As a result, Mark has implemented steps that have helped him reach the milestone of 250 Texas families served.
The transition to working in Texas didn’t come without some challenges.
Positive Partnership
“I moved here and had the naïve notion that I could build a referral-based business for the first time when I didn’t know anyone here, other than the person who hired me. So, I fell flat on my face,” he remembers. “At that point, I really did a lot of self-reflection and market research, not just housing market research.” Mark had never had the opportunity to work with a real estate agent throughout his career. “I approached solving the problem the only way I knew how – like an economist. I went to work studying the market and the data -- studying

One of the most powerful elements Mark focuses on is delivering exceptional service that reflects positively on his partners. “That’s the number-one thing that we focus on. As professionals in this business, we’re in a position to really impact families. So, it’s on us to be the very best we can be,” Mark says. “We want to be a positive extension of our partners … a transfer of excellence and not a potential detriment to a relationship. It’s a big part of why I love what I do.” Delivering Value
The process of working with Movement Mortgage is filled with value.
“When we have the first conversation, we meet, greet, and pinpoint dreams, goals, and fears which are unique to the specifics of their situation. Once they submit their information, we schedule their buyer consultation, and we issue their pre-approval,” Mark explains. “It’s simple because we’re not reinventing the wheel. Yet, we’re leveraging technology to not only meet our clients and partners where they’re at, but also educate them and provide

value at every stage. Every client of ours gets a personalized Mortgage Coach Analysis. Mortgage Coach is a platform that allows us to provide easy to comprehend and personalized analysis, which shows the performance of the options over time and empowers them to make an informed decision on which option is right for them. In addition, we leverage technology to empower our agent partners. Our partners have their own portal, which gives them the ability to pull custom pre-approval letters
realproducersmag.com
for their offers, a pipeline view of all of their active buyers with us, and an easy way to make an introduction with someone they’d like us to help.” A Head Start to Avoid a Loan Rescue
Another step that Mark and his team implement is getting their underwriter involved upfront. “As we get started in the process, we go to the underwriter first. Our underwriters have a goal to approve and issue their review within six
business hours. Therefore, we help people get ready in the beginning, and also if we need to diagnose an issue, then we can quickly develop a blueprint for helping them move forward,” Mark says. “It’s why I’ve become the local go-to whenever an agent finds their buyer in a Loan Rescue situation. As much as I’d love every buyer to start with a head start and avoid the headache and heartache of an unsuccessful real estate transaction, I am honored to be trusted to right the wrongs of other lenders.”

Rewarding Life
Away from work, Mark cherishes time with his friends and family, including his parents, Alex and Lina. As he says, “They are such an important part in my life. I learned a lot from them. They did a great job of moving forward as immigrants. I can’t imagine moving to a country where you don’t speak the language and building success, but they did that.” In his free time, Mark has a passion for hockey. He grew up playing the sport and is looking at getting involved with youth coaching. He also has a dog that Mark calls the biggest source of joy in his life, next to what he does in the business.
change in our communities, industry, and corporate cultures.’ We give back in every market we are part of,” Mark says. “There’s a lot that we do that I’m passionate about. In 2020, we committed $250 million in profit towards building hope centers and affordable housing developments in not just the U.S. but Central America as well. We’re in the process of building our fourth Movement School and recently committed to building 100 schools nationwide in the next ten years. Look out Texas – there’s a Movement School coming to a town near you!”

He’s also taking time to explore a variety of options.
WE WANT TO BE A POSITIVE EXTENSION OF OUR PARTNERS … A TRANSFER OF EXCELLENCE AND NOT A POTENTIAL DETRIMENT TO A RELATIONSHIP. IT’S A BIG PART OF WHY I LOVE WHAT I DO “I have a lot of places that I am visiting because I am still relatively new to Dallas,” he says. “Plus, I am working on The Metroplex Podcast, which is going to be focused on helping young professionals that are transplanted to DFW experience all that the DFW has to offer.” Giving back is a central part of Mark’s DNA, too. “Movement Mortgage is a Christian faith-based company… Our mission statement is: ‘We exist to love and value people and be a movement of 38 • February 2022

Written by: Bri Westbury, Content Specialist at Collin County Association of REALTORS®
A Conversation with CCAR President
MARISSA BENAT This month, we sat down with Collin County Association of REALTORS® (CCAR) 2022 President, Marissa Benat, to learn more about her and her plans for her year of presidency. Choosing real estate as a profession may seem predictable for Benat, coming from a long line of real estate professionals. But her lineage is not what led her to the industry. “Real estate is in my family. My parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents were all involved in real estate. However, I got into it was because I had a bad experience and almost lost everything,” said Benat. As a result of her past experiences, Benat strives to not just execute real estate transactions but to do it the best way to obtain the best outcome for her clients. From the start, she knew to be at the top of her game meant she needed connections, and fast. “I was fresh from college and needed to be able to deal with this world of adults, understand my competition, and understand other agents. Both my father and his colleague Bob Baker were highly involved at CCAR, and they suggested I get involved. “I also had an amazing broker who would take me to different CCAR events. He would say, ‘We’re going because you’ve got to meet people if you’re going to start producing. You’ve got to understand the ways of the world with a friend.’ “They were right. It’s so important for agents to network. You need to understand who your competition is.” 46 • February 2022
However, Benat didn’t stop there. She stayed involved, continued to show up, and never stopped asking questions. CCAR past president, Nick Kline, quickly noticed Benat’s participation and made Benat a presidential appointee to the CCAR Board of Directors. “Around the time I was appointed to the Board, CCAR’s Community Outreach Committee had just started, and I was really looking forward to sinking my teeth into a committee where I could create new events. Ultimately, Nick appointed me as a liaison to the Board for that committee. “I’m naturally curious, and curiosity led me to CCAR’s Budget and Finance Committee. I wanted to dig into the numbers. That was the same year CCAR began to offer free education. It was just incredible, and I was so proud to be a part of it, to see all the tools and resources that the association had to give. I was sold.” As Benat begins her year as CCAR President, she balances a deep appreciation of the leaders who have served before her with a strong desire to push towards future progress. “We honor our past with the path that we’ve been on. And we’re looking at making sure that we have an even bigger, stronger, brighter future and that we continue to think differently,” said Benat. CCAR is excited to see where 2022 takes us under Benat’s leadership. If you would like to get involved at the association, email info@ccar.net. @realproducers

MONICA MAYNARD WOOD ON THEIR SIDE Imagine you’re a brand-new home buyer or selling your property for the first time … just getting ready to make your way into the market.
Monica completed her coursework, earned her license, and decided to begin her career — signing on at first with a boutique brokerage. “Unfortunately, I didn’t sell a thing in my first three months there,” she remembers. “So I came back to Texas, kept my license, but continued in cosmetics.”
Now imagine trying to do that by yourself. A Rewarding New Chapter
Undoubtedly, you would want an agent of your caliber on your side to help make your way through. That’s where Monica Maynard Wood excels.
Another factor that had brought Monica back to Texas was the fact that she had met Marty Wood — the man who would become her husband — before she had originally gone to New York.
As a Broker/Owner with MMW Realty, Monica has a passion for her clients and is on their side.
In time, Monica and Marty married and started their family.
Pursuing Her Path
“At that point, I didn’t want to travel. So, I took a severance package that was offered to me and started hustling with real estate in 2009,” she says. “My husband was driving me around looking at rentals to represent. I’ve never been in an office. From the start, I hung my license with a broker who allowed me to be independent.”
Monica grew up in Silsbee, Texas. As she came of age, she went to college and worked at Dillard’s. “After that, my dream was to be a cosmetics executive in New York, and I did. It was a dream job that I had. But, I hated it. I worked for the fragrance brands in the U.S. It was supposed to be a dream job, but I was miserable sitting in an office,” Monica says. “It was Christmas, and I remember being scroogy and knowing this isn’t what I wanted. I wanted to be married and have kids. I lasted nine months there, but I was a Texas girl at heart, so I moved back here.”
Monica dove in and began her journey as a REALTOR®. In time, she also earned her Broker’s license and started MMW Realty in 2010. She has continued to grow her business and team through time. Adding to Her Success Story
Change of Path
In 2004, she traveled to Las Vegas to visit her dad, who had recently enrolled in real estate school. “I thought I would work freelance cosmetics and visit my dad. I had never thought about real estate,” Monica says. “But I decided to spend more time with him and go along to the classes. It turns out that he had already tested out the classes and hadn’t told me. He came along to support me.”
realproducersmag.com
Today, Monica does about 85 percent of her business in Oklahoma. She has three agents. “I do a lot of work with the short-term rental market with cabins in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. It’s part of our GlamCations cabin design and build business there,” she says. “Marty designs the plans/sketches, and I do all of the design/furnishing. With COVID, that market blew up, and we have tons of people who are looking to purchase these short-term rentals.”
North Dallas Real Producers • 51
Monica has a passion for helping her clients.
A Fulfilling Life
“I love having the ability to protect or guide the client as much as possible. I speak from experience to them about how to protect their investment,” she says. “I like helping people with their investments.”
Away from work, Monica cherishes time with her family, including Marty (who she originally met at a Dallas Mavericks game) and their two children — 12-year-old Brooks and 9-year-old Vail.
Monica’s signs of success have been remarkable. In fact, in 2021, she recorded an impressive total of $42 million in sales volume and $60 million for the brokerage.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring local restaurants and traveling, with Australia and Thailand being among her favorite destinations.

GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS TAKE WORK AND DEDICATION. IT’S THE POINT WHERE HOPES AND DREAMS START TO TAKE SHAPE. There is magic in honing in on our purpose in life. It channels our energy and magnifies the results we are able to reach for those we serve. Misty Forehand represents that principle perfectly. Realizing Their Dreams
As a REALTOR® with Keller Williams Central, Misty helps her clients realize their dreams with her clear focus and commitment to their needs – along with her passionate belief that real estate may be the business that she is in, but it’s really a ministry in which she can serve people. “I want the best for everyone I have a chance to work with. I hope they know that I truly care about them. It’s always about the person, and it’s never about the home,” Misty says. That kind of caring comes from Misty’s long-term passion for ministering to youth and young adults. That core caring is something she applies on a daily basis to those she works with in real estate, as well. “It’s about the person that I’m helping. I want them to know my integrity and hard work is all about working for them. At the same time, I also hope they can see the Lord in me, as well. I believe that everything I have and who I am is because of Him.” Shifting Gears
Before Misty got into real estate as an agent, she was a stay-at-home mom to three incredible boys.

Step-by-Step to Success
At the time she considered re-entering the workforce, Misty had natural nervousness.
So, eight years ago, Misty earned her real estate license and moved forward with the next chapter of her career. Her passion for her work is easy to see.
“I felt a huge weight on me. I didn’t know what I could do to contribute financially,” she remembers. “Eventually, through lots of prayer, a direction came. My husband and I talked, and he said, ‘Had you ever thought about going into real estate? You loved that before you stayed home.’ Tears started pouring down my face. My

“People are at the center of why I love this work that I do. That’s just how I’m wired. I’m very relational. I love to serve them and help in any way I possibly can,” Misty points out. “It’s always been about who the Lord brings to me to help. Sometimes I help them buy or sell houses … or both.”
North Dallas Real Producers • 61
“It’s been a WILD ride, full of so much love, laughter, frustration, tears, gratitude, and lots and lots of prayer! Some days are AWESOME, and some days are awful! And that is the truth! It can be exhausting, yet so unbelievably fulfilling that I get overwhelmed by the fact that I get to do this for a living! I am so grateful for every person God allows me to help, even the difficult ones, because I learn something new from all of them. Sometimes I learn what not to do or say, ever again. It’s always an adventure and never a dull moment!”
“I stage almost every house I list myself. I’ve always had an eye for design or a knack for decorating. I realized pretty quickly that everyone wants their house to look like HGTV,” Misty says. “At first, I started decorating other people’s homes with our own things. Now I have my own inventory with stored staging.” Positive Energy
Those who know Misty appreciate her positive energy and her tireless drive to make an impact while also laughing and helping others around her to have fun along the way. “The Lord has given me so much joy even in really tough circumstances. I love to bring a smile to people’s faces, make them laugh, and encourage them. My glass is always half full, never half empty, and I believe the best is yet to come!”
“
It’s always about the person, and it’s never about the home
“
Family Foundation
Family makes Misty’s life very full. She treasures time with her husband, Mark, and their three sons — Dylan, who lives in California and is engaged to be married this April; Dayton, who is a junior at the University of North Texas, and Dawson who is a high school sophomore. In her free time, Misty enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, and decorating. 62 • February 2022

As Broker and Co-Owner of Robinson Team Real Estate with his wife, Teresa, Cody draws on his experience and expertise to deliver the dream for those around him. “We have been fortunate to help clients at all phases of life. From custom dream homes to modest starter homes, we’ve seen it all. Working with firsttime homebuyers is always rewarding. I remember when Teresa and I bought
our first home in 1996. We had no clue what we were doing, and we weren’t in the business ourselves,” Cody says. “When I work with buyers embarking on a first purchase, I am going to advise them well and educate them along the way. I think it’s amazing to be part of the American dream and to be able to earn my living while doing it.” Building Success
Cody earned his real estate license in 2006. Together, he and Teresa started their brokerage in 2008. “In the early 2000s, Teresa worked for a national home builder as a salesperson and became one of the top performing salespeople,” Cody says. “I was interested, as well.” Once he got his license, Cody went to work for a brokerage that helped people buy new-construction homes. In a couple years, Cody and Teresa made the decision to start their own brokerage. “It was 2008, and the economy wasn’t great at the time. But as I look back on it, it was good for us. It caused us to outwork our competition. You couldn’t afford anything falling through the cracks,” Cody remembers. Standing Behind Their Work
To reflect the personal stake Cody and Teresa take in their clients, they put their own name on the brokerage.

“We put our name on what we do, because it’s a reflection of us. We fought through those first years and took care of our clients who have, in turn, taken @realproducers
care of us,” Cody points out. “In real estate like anything, if you treat your clients like gold, they will be fiercely loyal to you.” Today, their brokerage consists of eight agents, including Cody and Teresa. Honoring the Role
When you talk with Cody, it’s easy to see the deep sense of responsibility he feels for his role. “I take pride in the fact that we’ve built it the right way,” he says. “It’s a family-owned business. I have two daughters who are helping on the social media side and are getting involved a little in the business,” Cody says. Through time, the results of their efforts have continued to grow. During the fall of 2021, Cody and Teresa were named for the second time to the Aggie 100.
“The Aggie Network is one of the strongest networks of former students in the world. We are fortunate to do a lot of business with fellow Aggies,” Cody says. A Rich Life
Away from work, Cody and Teresa cherish time spent with their children — 16-year-old daughter, Emily, and 12-year-old daughter, Kendall. In their free time, Cody and Teresa have season tickets to Texas A&M football games. “We have family in College Station, so we have a huge tailgate before every game. It’s quite the party! There is nothing quite like a day filled with family, friends, and Aggie football. Many clients in town for games stop by the tailgate as well.” Lifting Others
The Aggie 100 honors the fastest-growing companies in the world owned by former students of Texas A&M University. Robinson Team Real Estate was also on the list for 2015. realproducersmag.com
One of the parts of his work that Cody enjoys is mentoring newer agents. He offers advice for those looking to start their own careers in the business. North Dallas Real Producers • 71
“It goes back to a couple of things that I constantly remind our agents of. First, is to communicate the truth to your clients. If it’s bad news, you get through it and you find the next good thing. Always be open and honest with your clients. Always remember that it is the client and their needs that matter,” he says.
“Also, when you meet someone for the first time, and they are considering using your services, ask some leading questions and listen. They can then decide if you can offer what they need. When you listen and understand what they need, you can do an effective job for them.” It’s the same kind of advice that Cody gives his children.

“I tell Emily and Kendall, ‘If you tell the truth and do the right thing, you will be insanely successful in life,’” Cody says. Cody definitely personifies that example. Each day, he moves forward with a drive to deliver on the American dream. As Cody says, “I love celebrating with my clients whether they are buying or selling … celebrating the journey that they go through … being part of that and building strong relationships with them ... relationships that will stand the test of time.” @realproducers

FAQ ABOUT THIS MAGAZINE
Real Producers magazine started in Indianapolis in 2015 and is now in over 100 markets across the nation and continues to spread rapidly. Real Producers first launched in DFW in August of 2018 with North DFW Real Producers (now called “North Dallas”). In May 2019 Dallas Real Producers launched and then Tarrant Real Producers in March of 2021. In 2022 Tarrant Real Producers split into two publications, North Fort Worth and Fort Worth Real Producers. Fort Worth Real Producers will go to print later this year. Q: WHO RECEIVES REAL PRODUCERS MAGAZINE? A: The top 500 real estate agents in each of the four markets in DFW based on their MLS Production for the previous year. Refer to the map in this publication for the exact territories. If your broker address is within that given territory and you are in the top 500, then you will receive that publication for the year. There are approximately 60,000 licensed real estate agents in DFW. The list will reset at the end of every year and will continue to update annually. Q: WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THIS MAGAZINE? A: We believe that we are better together. When we surround ourselves with other successful, like-minded people, we grow to new heights. Real Producers is a platform the brings together the most elite individuals in DFW Real Estate. In every market, we take the Top 500 real estate agents, and RP Vetted Businesses, and we build an exclusive community around that group. We share their stories, successes, market trends, upcoming events — really, anything that will connect, inform and inspire, we put in our monthly publication. Q: DOES REAL PRODUCERS HAVE EVENTS? A: Yes! Each community will have two main events a year, and then we do a combined event at the end of the year, which is an awards gala called The ESPE’s. For these events, we invite the Top 500 real estate agents and our RP Vetted Businesses. Top 500 agents are allowed to invite members on their team as well. These events are an incredible opportunity to connect with the best of the best in DFW Real realproducersmag.com
Estate. It is amazing to see the power in the connections made at these events. Be on the lookout for your exclusive invites! Q: WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR BEING FEATURED IN THIS MAGAZINE? A: It’s really simple. You have to be on the Top 500 list, and we take nominations seriously. You can nominate other real estate agents, businesses, brokers, owners, or even yourself! Office leaders can also nominate real estate agents. We will consider anyone brought to our attention who is in the Top 500 because we don’t know everyone’s story, so we need your help to learn about them. We cannot guarantee a feature but to increase your chances we encourage you to meet with one of our team members, support Real Producers, and attend our private events. You can email your nominations to jordan.espeseth@realproducersmag.com. Q: WHAT DOES IT COST A REAL ESTATE AGENT/TEAM TO BE FEATURED? A: Zero, zilch, zippo, nada, nil. It costs nothing, my friends, so nominate away! We are not a pay-to-play model. We share real stories of real producers. Q: WHO IS THE RP VETTED BUSINESSES? A: They are one of the best businesses in DFW in their category and you can find them listed in our index! We don’t just find these businesses off the street, nor do we work with all businesses that approach us. One of many of the top real estate agents has recommended every single business you see in this publication. We won’t even meet with a business that has not been vetted by one of you and “stamped for approval,” in a sense. Our team will further vet every business to make sure they are a good fit and bring value to our community. Our goal is to create a powerhouse network, not only for the best real estate agents in the area but the best businesses, as well, so we can grow stronger together. Q: HOW CAN I RECOMMEND A BUSINESS? A: If you know and want to recommend a business that works with top real estate agents, please email us to let us know at jordan.espeseth@realproducersmag.com. North Dallas Real Producers • 79
