ou’ve seen the expressions of happiness. The tears of joy. The times when your clients experience those milestones in life thanks to the work you do.
Mark Cain is the same way. As a real estate sales agent and principal of the Mark Cain Properties Group, Mark sees the homes his clients enter as more than structures. For him, they are foundations for life. “I love being able to give people a helping hand or opportunity which will help them create a more solid foundation, figuratively and literally,” Mark says. “In turn, these foundations improve their lives and their outcomes. I like being part of that.” Early Glimpse of His Future
Real estate has always been part of who Mark is. “Ever since I was a young lad in second grade, I was going to open houses. I loved to tour homes of all kinds,” Mark recalls. “In high school, I thought I wanted to be an architect or a builder.” In high school and college, Mark put hard work behind his ambitions, taking a variety of drafting, architecture, and business administration courses. “That was way before CAD programming. Then, drafting an architectural rendering by hand took forever. I knew I wouldn’t have the patience for that,” he smiles. During his education at the University of North Texas, Mark got a job at a market research company. “The intention was to have a job to afford my car payment and tuition and pay bills in college,” he explains. “I kept getting more experience at work and more education in school, and what started out as just kind of temporary employment ended up being an unintended 15-year career!”

Mark worked his way up from a data entry operator through the roles of supervisor, project director, project manager, and senior director. Toward the end of that career, he started working for a large Chicago-based research company. But market conditions changed. The company reorganized and closed its Dallas office. For the first time in his life, Mark found himself unemployed. “I decided to take six months off to simply rest and clear my head. This enabled me to think about and reflect upon what it was that I really wanted to do for my future,” he says. “During this time, I decided to pursue my interest in real estate, which had been my passion all along. I was concerned about venturing into a 100 percent commission industry, but decided I had made it OK for the previous six months without any income, so I could make it another six months or longer as well." A New Chapter Begins
So he enrolled in The Real Estate Career College, and by January 2002, he had his license and started to work. “I said to myself that even if I failed at real estate, I would still have succeeded because I attempted something that I had always wanted,” Mark says. “So I jumped into the deep end and knew that sinking was not an option.” Mark didn’t need to wait long for confirmation that he had made the right decision. By the end of his first 12 months, he had become a Top 10 Producer in his office, a designation he held every month thereafter.
Growing Together
Mark is quick to give credit to his team that includes four other agents in addition to himself. “The great thing about my team is, yes, we are a professional team, but we are also a family,” Mark smiles. “We function together as a team and help each other out. We have a fun, nurturing environment, and we help each other reach the highest level of success individually and as a group. I feel very lucky to have the team members that I do.” As he has grown in real estate, Mark has drawn on his past experiences. “I really enjoy the advertising and marketing part of real estate, utilizing my background in market research. It was very rewarding to work on improving the brand identification of my clients in my former career. I had a natural ability and enjoyed it. I also had experience with computers and computer programming,” Mark says. “Combining my marketing and advertising experience with my technical computer training gave me a significant competitive advantage in my new field, which helped me advance quickly. Plus, I enjoy using the creative side of myself to design and produce marketing materials which will bring increased awareness and traffic to my listings." Life’s Priorities
In time, Mark moved to another brokerage and continued to grow for 14 years. Then, in the fall of 2017, Mark joined Compass and built his team — the Mark Cain Properties Group. Mark’s record of success with his team has grown, recording an average of $40 to $50 million a year over the past 10 years. In the process, Mark has built a reputation for results as a Top Producing agent in the Preston Hollow area, specializing in the luxury and super-luxury market.

Away from work, family has always been central to who Mark is, including his siblings Teresa, Debbie, Alice, Leslie, Cindy, Matthew, and Rachel. “The biggest role model in life has been my mother, Sandra,” Mark emphasizes. “At the age of 41, she became a widow with eight kids,

whom she raised on her own! She put us all through school, provided cars, education, tuition, books, clothes, athletic gear, musical instruments and everything we needed to have a solid foundation from which to grow, and she did it all on a teacher’s salary while she operated a part-time tutoring center she created.”
an after-school program for at-risk high school students which provides meals and mentorship five days a week in the evenings.
In his free time, Mark has a passion for travel, especially cruises.
“It’s important that these kids know there are adults who care about them and can be successful role models for them. It’s especially important for them to feel like there is hope, even though they may be homeless or in a situation that is difficult … because those things don’t define who they are. Their dreams are still valid and reachable if they believe in themselves. By contributing to and being a part of this program, I am able to show them that I believe in them. And sometimes, all it takes is just one person to believe in you.”
As he says, “I really love them. I’ve been on 10 cruises, and after COVID-19 goes away, I hope to go on 10 more.”
It’s the same spirit Mark has for relentlessly reaching results for those he serves.
Another big passion Mark has is his new home in Preston Hollow that’s being renovated, with completion due this summer. “I am really excited about my new house and can’t wait to move in!”
“That’s what I love - creating special moments for people …. helping them find the right place to live and helping their lives to be more effective,” Mark explains. “If your home life works, the rest of your life does, too. I take pride in helping clients find a place that will maximize their lives and bring them the most joy.”
One of the greatest moments in his life came in 2005 when Mark surprised his mom on Mother’s Day with a new house — a house in Frisco, across the street from where Mark’s brother lives.

Early Relationship. Rewarding Career.
In a business built on relationships, Jason remembers one key relationship that led him to the career he loves. As Jason recalls, “Ryan Streiff was one of my childhood friends. We grew up playing soccer together and have been best friends since high school. About five years ago, he was telling me how much he enjoyed what he was doing with Dave Perry-Miller, and he said I should come join the team.” Jason seized the opportunity. He earned his license and jumped in with both feet. Prior to entering the business, Jason had built a successful corporate ca26 • July 2020
reer, working in commercial real estate finance as a bond trader. “I had a good grasp of real estate fundamentals, but it was totally different going from the corporate atmosphere to becoming an independent contractor,” Jason says. “You get to make your own hours, but during these first five years, I’ve worked hard to grow my business… I’ve put my nose to the grindstone, and it feels good to see the results of that work in helping others.” Signs of Success
Jason has realized a full range of rewards. “There’s a level of financial success that I appreciate...selling real estate has allowed me to provide for my family and give them a good life,” he says. “I have an 11-year-old son (6th grader), and a 7-yearold (2nd grader) who both attend Moss Haven
Elementary in Lake Highlands and we love participating in all of our fun neighborhood activities.” As he works relentlessly to meet his clients’ needs, Jason also keeps his eyes on the big picture of life. “Real estate can take over your life if you let it, but I’m trying to spend as much time as possible with the kids,” Jason emphasizes. “For me, a big part of my definition of success is finding a balance of work and family time.” A Heart for Service
That family time revolves around Jason’s wife, Kaki, and their children, Booker and Lottie. @realproducers
In his free time, Jason stays active with Camp Gladiator, playing on a men’s soccer team. He also is a huge Dallas sports fan and enjoys the Cowboys, Mavericks, Rangers and Stars. Travel is also an ongoing passion. Favorite destinations include Cedar Creek Lake and the mountains of Angel Fire, New Mexico, and Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Jason also is involved in the community he calls home, serving as a Lake Highland Exchange Club member, especially enjoys helping with Oktoberfest.

Other favorite ways of giving back to his community have included fundraising for The Rise School, Habitat for Humanity and delivering for Meals on Wheels, along with sorting supplies for the North Texas Food Bank. Jason has a big place in his heart for children. With a mind for mathematics, one of his favorite activities while donating his time has been tutoring young students. As he says, “One of the things I’ve really enjoyed is getting to see the light bulb go on in their heads.”

What is the primary purpose of Real Producers? Our primary mission is to unite the REALTORS® in the local community by helping you connect with other top-producing agents on a deeper level. We accomplish this through our monthly publication and our quarterly parties and events. Who is the magazine distributed to? Only the top 500 Producing REALTORS® south of 635 will be receiving our monthly publication. The top 500 varies each year based on MLS production, so there are no guarantees you make the top 500 next year. Keep working hard! Where do we get the top 500 from? The top 500 comes directly from real MLS data. The Dallas Real Producers community includes the top 500 REALTORS® south of 635 in Dallas county, along with Rockwall, Irving, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Duncanville, Waxahachie, etc. realproducersmag.com
We also have a North DFW Real Producers community and magazine for the top 500 REALTORS® north of 635. You are welcome to come to their parties and events as well (as long as you promise to be fun). How will you be receiving the magazine every month? We will be shipping your copy of the magazine to your office with your name on the back, so keep your eyes open for it every month! We will send out a monthly email with the digital version of it as well. *If you would like it shipped to your house instead of the office, please email Brett@DallasRP.com with your home address. And that’s not by accident. As company president and founder Elle Nesher says, she and her husband, Lee, have been very intentional about their mission to go beyond the norm to create something exceptional. Dallas Real Producers • 35
for the candle manufacturing business they had created, Elle and Lee decided it was time to start a family. “At that point, we decided we were done with cold weather and moved to Texas,” she smiles. Steps Forward
While in Chicago, Lee had worked for some moving companies and had an eye on his own operation. “He always wanted to open a moving company. That was definitely his dream. And in 2008, we decided that it was the right time to do that,” Elle recalls. “Unfortunately, sometimes the moving industry has had a bit of a bad reputation. And we decided that we were going to do things the right way. And really change the way people perceive moving and run a company with honesty and integrity. And just make sure that we do it right by honoring the client and keeping our word.” A big part of doing it right for Elle and Lee was about having a sense of caring, service, and empathy for their clients. “Moving is a very sensitive and difficult time for a lot of people,” Elle acknowledges. “it's one of the three most stressful times of people's lives, including the death of a family member, divorce, and having a child.” Elle stresses the importance of removing stress.
A Drive to Excel
Elle’s drive to achieve began when she was a girl growing up in Israel. “I wouldn't say that when I was growing up, I thought I was going to be a moving company owner. But I knew I wanted to run a business and work with people,” she remembers. “I always knew I wanted to be a business owner and an entrepreneur. I was always pretty independent. When I was 16 years old, I moved from Israel, where I was with my family, and moved to California, graduated high school out there, and then going off to college in Washington D.C.” Elle stayed in the U.S. and moved to Chicago. There, she met Lee, who also had grown up in Israel. After running their own business and traveling, spending time on the trade show circuit 36 • July 2020
“We work hard to make sure that we take that out of the move. That was always our goal from the inception of the company. And that's our number one goal. And that's where we try to help people,” Elle emphasizes. “Moving is a very vulnerable time in people's lives. And we want to make sure that we are upfront and honest about all of our pricing, and that there are no surprises.” Growing All Around
Today, in addition to its Dallas location, Element Moving and Storage does nationwide moves, and is entering into the international market. Elle and Lee have enjoyed the process of serving the area’s growing population. “This is definitely a growing market, with people moving around, upgrading, downgrading, and entering the market from other areas,” she says. “While the majority of our pick-ups are in the Texas area, @realproducers
transportation out of whatever situation people are in and help them get on their feet again.” Elle, Lee, and their team members also help connect the dots on moving day, as well — taking unwanted items and delivering them to a variety of local charity organizations. It’s all part of a drive to achieve more on behalf of those they serve.
we do pick-ups and deliveries all over the country, and we actually do a lot of international work, as well.” The team also takes pride in taking care of other special parts of the moving process to ease the load for its customers. “I love hearing from customers how our team members treat the move like it was their own. We love helping people through what can be a pretty stressful situation — being that resource that helps them know that things are covered,” Elle says. “We really pride ourselves in doing every aspect of the move from moving pianos to swing sets to whatever the need is. We also do painting, hanging artwork, and all those things that come as part of the process. We can do it all for you.” As part of the essential moving service, Element Moving and Storage has continued moving ahead through the COVID-19 pandemic. “We’ve done a number of things proactively to serve our customers realproducersmag.com
responsibly during this time,” Elle points out. “Our moving team is very careful about being compliant with CDC guidance, including wearing gloves and masks whenever possible, and maintaining proper distance from each other and our clients during the moving process.” That’s just the start. “We also keep consistent three-person teams. We keep the same three-team members together from move to move to minimize any additional exposure and we sterilize our moving trucks after each move,” she says. “Our sales team members work from home, and when we work with senior center moves, we make sure that we’re taking temperatures and ensuring we’re symptom-free before we enter those facilities.”
“Our success is really measured by the success of others. We always appreciate the referrals we receive from our real estate partners. It is a really solid partnership. We do everything we can to make sure that the client and REALTORS® feel great about how everything went. For our team members, I feel good about the fact that 40 to 50 people, on any given day, get their paycheck from working for our company, and are able to do that,” Elle smiles. “And of course, on a customer level, knowing that we do a good job, that we're there for customers, and that we’re able to help them from beginning to end.” For more information, contact Element Moving and Storage today! A Family Approach
Elle and Lee have three children, including Aeden, Ava, and Arielle. They cherish time together and love giving back to the community. One of the big ways they support those in need is through the Families to Freedom organization. As Elle explains, “We are proud to be the moving partner for them.
