All you need to access our family rates is to have a youth, child, preschooler, or infant with an adult caregiver With the Monthly Family Pass, you can attend Fuller Lake Arena and the Cowichan Aquatic Centre as much as you want, together or separately (kids under 7 need an adult with them). One of you could attend a drop-in fitness class at the Cowichan Aquatic Centre, another could go public skating at Fuller Lake Arena, while others enjoy a soak in the hot tub - all at the same time!
Leisure Access Pass
The Leisure Access Pass provides low-income residents the ability to access basic recreation programs and services in the Municipality of North Cowichan. These include drop-in programs and all public swimming and skating events (skate rentals not included)

What happens when a program, camp, or rental is cancelled:
From time to time we all end up with unexpected emergencies or interruptions.
If we must cancel:
Regrettably, if a minimum number of participants is not met, we may have to cancel or combine classes due to insufficient registration. These decisions are made prior to the course start date. Please register early to avoid disappointment. A 100% refund is granted when we cancel a program. When a class has been cancelled due to instructor illness, weather conditions, or facility interruptions, a class will be added on at the end of the session whenever possible. If this is not possible, you will be issued a refund in the amount of the missed class.
Your plans have changed; You have to cancel:
A refund will be issued if we receive the applicable withdrawal notification. Programs and lessons require five (5) or more days’ notice prior to the course start date. Camps, certification courses, and facility bookings require seven (7) or more days’ notice prior to the course start date. If appropriate notice is not given, no refund will be issued. There may be other exceptions to these guidelines In some cases, these exceptions will be noted in the individual course description To request a refund, please contact the facility that is offering your program All refunds are subject to a $5 processing fee

Hockey Development
3 on 3 Hockey League
Fuller Lake Arena will extend its ice season into April and May to provide a fun, exciting, and low-barrier 3 on 3 hockey league to the hockey players in the Cowichan Valley
This 3 on 3 hockey league will be full of action, the games will be played on the full ice surface, and each team will have 3 players and 1 goalie on the ice at a time Games will have a referee and volunteer coaches
The league is split into five age divisions U9, U11, U13, U15 The league will operate from April 1 – May 23, 2025, with 8 guaranteed games
Players will get a chance to develop skills, play in a free-flowing and creative game, improve conditioning, and make new friends
After the registration period is complete, players/parents will be emailed their team schedules Days are subject to change.

Bronze Medallion is a prerequisite for Assistant Lifeguard training in Bronze Cross
Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training, including an introduction to safety supervision
The Lifesaving Society’s Bronze Cross begins the transition from lifesaving to lifeguarding and prepares candidates for responsibilities as Assistant Lifeguards Candidates strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills and begin to apply the principles and techniques of active surveillance in aquatic facilities Bronze Cross emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for advanced training in the Society’s National Lifeguard and leadership certification programs
The National Lifeguard Core and Pool certification is designed to develop the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and decision-making processes that will assist the lifeguard in providing effective safety supervision in Aquatic environments
