Water restriction information

Even though water restrictions in our region have been lifted in some areas, it’s always a good idea to save water where we can. We have included a graphic below that illustrates nine great ways to save water issued by Rous County Council. Rous Water and the local Councils of Ballina, Byron, Lismore and Richmond Valley have introduced voluntary Permanent Water Saving Measures for all town water users. All residents are encouraged to comply with these measures to ensure sustainable water use throughout the region. More information is available by visiting Rous County Council’ s website at www.rouswater.nsw.gov.au or by giving them a call on 1800 450 203.

A reminder NOT to flush wipes down the toilet

Baby wipes and sanitising wipes should be thrown away in the trash, not in the toilet. They do not break apart like toilet paper and will cause unwanted back ups and could even cause permanent and expensive damage. Save the pipes – don’t flush your wipes!
