o m e to lc e w NORTH CENTRAL COLLEGE Thank you for joining us for the North Central College Fine & Performing Arts 2020-2021 Virtual Season! We couldn’t be more excited to be able to share these incredibly talented artists with you from the comfort of your own homes in a virtual format. This has been a unique and challenging time, but it is a joy to share fine arts events together virtually, even if we cannot do so yet in person. We kicked off our virtual season in January with The Hit Men followed by fantastic performances in February from The Langston Hughes Project, Mojo & The Bayou Gypsies, and Naturally 7. We opened March with The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Lee Rocker of Stray Cats and the Chicago Sinfonietta. We started April with the Sharpe Family Singers followed by the Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra. We close out the virtual season in May with an exciting performance by actor Robert Neary in “So Good: The Neil Diamond Experience.”
As a thank you for your continued support, we are providing most of these events free with a reservation. Additionally, viewing will be unlimited and available for the entire weekend these performances are released for you to view at your leisure. We hope you enjoy an encore performance or two! At this time, we also wish to express our sincere gratitude for our season sponsors and Friends of the Arts donors—thank you for your generous support this season. We would not be able to bring you these wonderful virtual events and continue working toward future seasons without your generous contributions. ROBERT NEARY “SO GOOD: THE NEIL DIAMOND EXPERIENCE” THURSDAY, MAY 6 - SUNDAY, MAY 9
PERFO RMER BIOGRAPHY Robert Neary was born and raised in East Meadow, Long Island, N.Y. He gained immediate success as an actor after moving to Los Angeles when he was 20 years old, with a guest star role in the television series “Fame”, and then opposite Jason Bateman in the film “Teen Wolf Too”. After a two-year stint on General Hospital as Officer Frank Marino, Robert moved to Nashville to pursue contemporary gospel music. He recorded two solo projects before returning to LA and his first love of acting. He has since gone on to guest star in more than 50 television shows, including “Criminal Minds”, “Sons of Anarchy”, “The Closer”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Blue Bloods”, “Justified”, “The Fosters”, “FBI: Most Wanted”, “Weeds”, “Medium”, “NCIS” and “NCIS New Orleans”. He has also done over 25 national commercials and motion pictures, most recently “Escape at Dannemora” on Showtime. Robert landed his first Broadway show in 1996, starring in “Smokey Joe’s Café”, where he met his wife, Natasha. Together they went on to tour in the Elton John/ Tim Rice Broadway hit “Aida”, where he played the evil Zoser. In 2017, Robert returned to New York for a third time when he understudied the lead role of Sonny in the Broadway smash, “A Bronx Tale, The Musical”, and got the chance to perform the famed role more than a dozen times. He now resides, again, on Long Island with Natasha and their two incredibly talented children, Selah and Canaan. Robert grew up listening to, mimicking, and creating his style around only two people in the music world: Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond. It has been a deep passion to one day perform and put together a tribute show to Neil Diamond like none other.
