SUNDAY,
Welcome to another exciting year with North Central College’s Fine & Performing Arts! Whether this is your first or fiftieth time experiencing our performances and venues, we are thrilled you are here to join us for the 2022-2023 season, complete with events perfect for all ages!
At this time, we wish to say, “Thank you!” for your continued support of the arts at North Central College. Without patrons like you, it wouldn’t be possible to carry on our mission to bring world-class artists to our worldclass venues in Naperville. We hope you will join us in the coming months for several more sensational artists and performances.
We also wish to thank our Friends of the Arts donors, corporate sponsors, and restaurant partners for their
generous, and ever-appreciated support of the Fine & Performing Arts at North Central. Without them, we would not be able to bring our audiences these wonderful artists and performers or work toward future seasons of exciting fine arts events in our community.
We hope you are as thrilled as we are for the 2022-2023 season, and we are grateful you are here with us today. It’s show time!
Sincerely,

Brian Lynch has been called one of the finest talents in American musical theatre when he toured the country as Jean Valjean in the Marius Company of “Les Miserables.” Among his many accolades, he was nominated for the South Florida Carbonella best actor award for his work as Valjean. Lynch also toured with “CATS” and “Aspects of Love”, performing on the road for over eight years. Before taking to the road, Lynch was a regular at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse in Summit, Illinois where he performed and choreographed for more than 10 years. Four of his Candlelight shows were nominated for Chicago’s Joseph Jefferson Award: “Grease”, “Follies”, “Zorba”, and “Bye Bye Birdie.” He received the best choreography award for “Grease”, where he also played the lead role of Danny Zuko. When he returned from the road, Lynch was hired by North Central College to teach acting and dance classes. As a member of the faculty, he designed the first musical theatre major at the college and directed their annual musical. Two of his productions were selected for the prestigious Region III Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts College Theatre Festival and performed at the festival. At North Central, he was the faculty member who led the team to create the Wentz Concert Hall and Fine Arts Center as well as Meiley-Swallow Hall. Recently retired from North Central College, he is thrilled to perform in the building that he was instrumental in building. Enjoy the show!
After the performance, we would love to hear your feedback on the experience and what you hope to see next in our venues. We invite you to take our short survey.

Bagpipes with attitude. Drums with a Scottish accent. A blazing rock band and show so hot, it carries its own health warning!
It’s Bagpipes. It’s Rock. It’s Bagrock. AC/DC meets the poet Robert Burns. Where rock anthems sit comfortably alongside the great tunes from the glens and the mountains of Scotland.
the
nine-piece ensemble consisting of pipers, guitarists, keyboards, and drummers—who have been rocking the world from New York to Beijing to Melbourne and everywhere in between with musicianship of the highest order and a passion for pipes that will leave you breathless. The band has four music degrees from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and all the pipers and drummers have played at the top level in bagpiping.
Since they walked away with the top prize on the primetime TV talent show, “When Will I Be Famous” in the U.K. in 2007, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers haven’t stopped for a breath, other than to inflate their bagpipes! Formed in 2002, The Chillis have fast become a global phenomenon, taking their signature ‘Bagrock’ sound to the masses with their unique fusion of rocked-up bagpipes and clever covers of popular songs from all genres. Their trademarked sound is a unique fusion of traditional pipe tunes—like “The Flowers of Scotland”, “The Hills of Argyll”, and “Amazing Grace” (done Chilli-style, of course!)—and contemporary anthems like Queen’s “We Will Rock You”, “Clocks” by Coldplay, “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol, “Let Me Entertain You” by Robbie Williams, and a fantastic rock medley of “Deep Purple”, “Smoke on the Water”, and AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck”.
The Chillis have never been more in demand for their infectious style of feelgood music which appeals right across the age range to people all over the world. Theirs are the very best musicians from Scotland and across the globe—many holding World Champion titles and all serious players with impressive credentials and qualifications. There has never been anything quite like The Red Hot Chilli Pipers. Feel the Chilli heat: It’s time to come closer to the fire!
After the performance, we would love to hear your feedback on the experience and what you hope to see next in our venues. We invite you to take our short survey.
