Even more predictable in the unpredictable

A high-performance big air kite that is stable and consistent in a wide range of conditions, especially in the high end. For 2024 we’ve fully reworked the bridles, so the kite feels even more stable and forgiving. The kite will not front-stall in overpowered, gusty conditions, but still maintains that ability to fly forward and catch you in kiteloops. This predictability is one of the key features of the Orbit, and it allows you to ride the kite overpowered without it getting away from you.

Extreme boosts and megaloops

Send it to extreme heights. With its dependable catch and kiteloop recovery, the Orbit always has your back. The Orbit has a very big footprint in the sky. This increases the amount of sail area working for you, making the kite super-efficient with great power delivery. It’s also fast and responsive in the steering and flies forward through the sky quickly, so it’s able to get around and catch you, climb up and give you lots of time to prepare for your landing.

Segmented curve arc-design

We’ve smoothed out the shape of the LE, introducing a segmented curve arc that is slightly narrower in the shoulders and wider in the wingtips. The wingtip has more of a an elliptical shape for reduced drag and slightly faster turning speed, while a slightly deeper profile in the centre creates a little more lift. Changes to the wingtip led to a fully reworked bridle – in combination with moving the attachment points – for the most stable Orbit yet. We’ve made the Orbit more stable and forgiving, without losing its looping capabilities or that incredible catch. Riders of all abilities can experience the best of both worlds now, worrying less about overflying or the kite’s position in the sky. It is our most reliable, stable Big Air/ Freeride kite yet. We’re confident it will do it all, but with the added stability, it’s suitable for everyone.

Aerodynamic profile transition panels

We’ve refined the panel cuts for 2024 and removed the heavy-duty canopy panels. There’s now only one panel segment instead of two, this reduces the number of seams, and helps to smooth out the profile entry, ensuring a precise lateral profile shape is maintained as close to the leading edge as possible and creating a smooth transition from the segmented leading edge to the curved canopy. The new panels reduce inconsistencies in the profile, resulting in a smoother, more efficient kite, with more aerodynamic airflow and less turbulence. In the smaller sizes you’ll notice better hangtime and a faster/tighter turning radius. In the bigger sizes the kite is more lively and reactive with increased low end.

High aspect ratio design

The high AR gives the Orbit a low drag profile, making it sit further forwards in the wind window for upwind performance and creating more area in the centre of the kite for efficiency and easy relaunch. For 2024, we’ve lowered the aspect ratio in the smaller sizes for more hangtime. They have a better catch and loft, more hangtime and you always know where the kite sits in the sky.

Fully re-engineered bridles

The 2024 Orbit has a fully reworked bridle, engineered to be more stable and forgiving in overpowered and gusty conditions. We’ve retained the Orbit’s controlled response and fast steering, while giving the kite a more energetic feel with increased depower. Working closely with our pro team riders to put the kite through hardcore testing in a lot of wind enabled us to further improve the stability, feedback and steering behaviour, and to give the kite a lighter, more responsive feel.

Stable 5-strut performance

When you’re chasing a storm, the Orbit provides incredible top-end control. The five-strut design gives it an incredible amount of stability and wind range, and you have a lot more control over the canopy movement at low attack angles. The Orbit has the widest wind range of all our kites. The fixed, no-pulley bridle is a little bit longer, and combined with its placement on the kite gives us a very stable platform in all conditions.

Lightweight bladders in all sizes

Weight matters, always. Lighter weight means a smaller turning radius. Lighter weight means your kite flies faster, sooner, because you need less wind to get the kite up in the sky. The lighter the kite, the faster the steering, the more lift it creates and the higher you jump. Bladders make up a bigger weight percentage than any other material used in a kite, so for 2024 we’ve introduced 17% lighter weight bladder material in all sizes to help the kite feel even lighter and more responsive in all conditions. This additional weight reduction improves the low-end capabilities and helps the kite fly more efficiently. It also improves the overall static balance of the wing by reducing weight in the front of the kite.

4x Bar pressure options for precise steering and depower

The steering impulse options are the attachment points at the wing tip for your rear bridle lines. The Orbit is pre-set on the second point from the wingtip and gives the kite a lighter, more forgiving feeling. For more direct steering and shorter depower travel, move your connection forward on the wing tip. Setting A – closest to the wingtip. Setting D is our megaloop setting – this gives the heaviest bar pressure or most direct steering impulse. It is the most stable choice in high winds and is recommended for stronger, heavier riders.

N-Max is a coated composite material which ensures the airframe meets structural stiffness and durability demands without adding unnecessary weight. The multi-layer structure of this new material improves the tear strength five times. N-Max also has a more balanced weave for a crisp, lively feel. The symmetrical yarn pattern gives the material a lower bias elongation which snaps back to its original shape faster. This provides the kite with a crisp response, more precise steering and more dynamic recovery.

Refined weight-saving construction

Engineered to feel as light as possible, the Orbit Pro has many weight-saving features for lighter more agile handling. We’ve used lighter N-Max Dacron, stripped back the scuff guards, used the lightest bladders, reduced the HyperFlow hardware and steering impulse attachment points. The canopy is constructed using North High Tenacity Ripstop (N-HTRS) polyester yarn canopy material for lightness, high tear strength and longevity.

Bridle shape optimised

For nailing the highest-scoring tricks. The reworked bridles ensure consistent high-performance, especially in the high end. We’ve retained the Orbit’s controlled response and fast steering while giving the kite a more energetic feel with increased depower. Our competition athletes have put the Orbit Pro through hardcore testing in exteme conditions, enabling us to refine the steering behaviour and give the kite a more responsive feel. When you’re in inverted rotations, you’ll know where it is.

Extreme boosts and megaloops

Increased amplitude, faster turning, catch and recovery. The Orbit Pro is super-efficient with great power delivery. It’s also fast and responsive in the steering and flies forward through the sky quickly, so it’s able to get around and catch you, climb up and give you time to prepare for your landing.

Light and direct bar pressure options

The Orbit Pro has two steering line attachment points. Closest to the wingtip (-) is the factory setting your kite will be delivered with. Use this setting for light bar pressure and a slightly more direct feel in the steering. Further away from the wingtip (+) gives a medium bar pressure, firmer, more direct steering and shorter depower travel. It’s a Formula 1 feel, requiring a little more force to control the steering.

2m line extensions included

For more extreme height. The 2m line extensions create 24m lines when combined with the standard 10m + 12m Navigator Control lines. 24m lines means you can exploit the increased pressure at altitude for greater boosting power.

Stable 5-strut performance

Reduced diameter micro struts are engineered as thin as possible while maintaining structural integrity.

Refined strut isolation capacity

To reduce the overall kite weight, the Orbit Pro is supplied with a single HyperFlow pinch clamp on the centre strut only. This helps to concentrate any weight in the centre of the kite, enabling a balanced load distribution for faster turning and reduced swing weight. Note: HyperFlow Pinch Clamps can be purchased separately and added to the second and third struts if preferred.

Aerodynamic profile transition panels (PTP)

DuraLite seam protection

We’ve reduced the length of the lightweight STPU reinforcement patches that protect the leading edge from chafing and abrasion. Markcloth seam protectors on the canopy also help to protect the stitching.

Bladders make up a bigger weight percentage than any other material used in a kite, so we’ve selected 17% lighter weight bladder material in all sizes to help the kite feel even lighter and more responsive in all conditions. This additional weight reduction improves the low-end capabilities and helps the kite fly more efficiently. It also improves the overall static balance by reducing weight in the front of the kite.

Recycled PET kite bag

Every North kite bag is made from a durable recycled polyester ripstop fabric. Recycled materials are also used to make our own custom webbing. The bag is generously sized to fit your packed-down kite easily, with corrosion-free zippers, stash pockets and air-vents in the bottom and sides of the bag. North kite bags also have an external Control System pocket, Kite Pump attachment and ergonomic shoulder and chest straps.

Boosts and loops with a smooth reliable catch

The Reach has superb loft and hangtime with a compact steering radius, thanks to its medium-high aspect ratio design with wider wing-tip and well-balanced bridle. During a loop, many kites will pause before they climb back up, but the Reach has a smooth, consistent catch and doesn’t hesitate to come back around.

Incredible stability for foil and light wind

Boasting predictable, consistent power delivery in every condition, the Reach has exceptional performance at the low-end - especially at slower speeds in lighter wind. Its moderate leading-edge diameter provides additional buoyancy, helping the kite to release quickly from the water in even the lightest conditions.

New segmented curve arc for improved canopy tension

Where nature meets technology. We’ve revised the Reach arc shape so tension can transition more evenly through the canopy, as you would see in a catenary shape in nature. The new segmented curve arc gives the kite a cleaner profile that is more stable in kite loops. The kite remains light and fast but now has a crisper, more snappy feel.

Massive wind range and upwind drive

A precise draft-forward profile gives the Reach a very smooth and efficient profile entry and upwind drive. We’ve refined the panel cuts for a cleaner profile entry, removing the heavy-duty canopy panels. There’s now only one panel segment instead of two, this reduces the number of seams, and helps to smooth out the profile shape, creating a smooth transition from the segmented leading edge to the curved canopy. This results in an even more aerodynamic and efficient airflow and less turbulence.

N-Max Dacron for lighter weight

N-Max is a lighter weight Dacron used in the leading edge and strut to save weight without compromising on strength, stiffness or durability. N-Max Dacron has a balanced weave for a crisp, more lively feel. The symmetrical yarn pattern gives it a lower bias elongation that snaps back to its original shape faster. For 2024 we’ve reduced the total amount of Dacron used on the kite, making the Reach even lighter. We’ve used a two-ply canopy material along the trailing edge for optimal steering and performance, without compromising strength or durability. The lighter weight kite has a snappier response, more direct steering and more dynamic recovery.

Well-balanced tactile surf handling

Quick responsive steering and neutral static balance helps you fire up your performance in the surf, without any surprises. The Reach drifts well and doesn’t fall over, front-stall or back-stall - making it your go-to kite for foiling and wave-riding.

Progressive freestyle medium-high AR

A forgiving kite with pop when you need it for freestyle manoeuvres. The medium high aspect ratio, combined with the powerful profile, gives the Reach explosive pop. Good pop helps generate line slack for handle passes - simply load up, edge hard and pop off the water for easy freestyle progression.

Direct and responsive steering

Tactile handling with light bar pressure and steering impulse for a fast response and tight turning radius. Refined tuning of the short responsive bridle gives the Reach quick, exponential depower, allowing you to ride it in an even wider range of conditions. The bar pressure and steering impulse can be adjusted on the wing tip, allowing you to fine tune the kite’s characteristics to your personal preference.

Larger sizes light wind-optimised

Predictable, consistent power delivery in every condition, and exceptional performance at the low-end. The 13, 15 or 17m Reach will get you up and riding with a power-hungry twintip like the new Trace in just 8 knots. The combination of lighter weight materials and design elements give the kite a surprisingly light bar pressure, fast turning speed and fore and aft balance. We recommend you select your lightwind kite size according to rider weight rather than wind range. We recommend the 13m for lighter riders (under 70kg), and the 17m for heavier riders (over 85kg).

Blazing-fast light wind performance

Ideal for foil and wave riding, the Code Zero has excellent drift, manoeuvrability and extremely fast, reactive steering. Engineered for travelling at speeds so fast other kites couldn’t keep up, the Code Zero has excellent drift for foiling, where you travel at very high speeds downwind and it’s important the kite goes along with you.

Newly revised bridle

The redesigned bridle gives the kite a more rigid feel, with lighter bar pressure, more direct response and added stability. The bridlepoints are designed to sit on the intersegments, ensuring the bridle loads through a thicker part of the LE for a more direct/solid feel. Moving the bridle toward the outside of the kite also places less load through the centre of the kite, creating more stability and lighter bar pressure.

More direct steering

The steering response is result of the reworked bridling. We’ve also increased the low end slightly – while maintaining responsiveness.

Smoother aerodynamics and minimal flutter

We’ve optimised the angle of attack in the wingtip, making it more direct, and improved the tension in the trailing edge. The balanced geometry ensures the kite has minimal flutter, but maintains its upwind capability. Easy to fly, stable and evenly tensioned, the Code Zero has a balanced geometry which makes flying one-handed a breeze. This means you can maintain your preferred stance when changing direction, without getting into an awkward position.

More sizes for 2024

We’ve added four new sizes to the range: 6m, 8m, 10m and 14m. The 14m will be ideal for teaching in 7 knots, or for a heavier rider with a smaller foil in super light wind. If you’re <70kg and hydrofoiling, you won’t need bigger than an 8m – even in the lightest winds. The smaller sizes are ideal for wave-riding with a surfboard or foil.

Your lightweight Code Zero packs down into a high-quality GoGreen Recycled PET kite bag with Foil Assist. The recycled polyester ripstop fabric meets the Global Recycling Standard. The Kite Bag features a comfortable STPU padded area with groove designed especially for carrying a foil mast over your shoulder. It also features mesh windows for ventilation, zipper pockets for spare parts and storage, a Control System pocket and kite pump holder.

One of the lightest single-strut kites ever designed

In light wind kiting, you want to go out using the smallest possible kite in the least amount of wind. To keep the kite flying, the less weight it has, the easier it is to fly. We wanted to see how light you could go without losing performance or making it too fragile. Engineered using the lightest materials possible, we’ve taken a minimalist approach – there’s nothing on it you don’t need. This helps contribute to the Code Zero’s playful, agile feel and fun, dynamic steering.

DuraLite reinforcement

The only added reinforcements are the Duralite seam protectors on the wingtip and the center strut, providing abrasion resistance only where you need it.

2-Ply Canopy trailing edge reinforcement

A double layer of canopy material at the trailing edge provides optimal tension in the canopy shape, keeping it as smooth as possible and helping the kite to fly faster through the sky. Two layers of canopy material are softer than using a single-ply reinforcement material, allowing the kite to twist better and be more responsive.

Lighter N-Max Dacron

We’ve used N-Max lighter weight dacron in the leading edge and strut for stiffness and durability. This ensures the airframe meets the structural demands without adding unnecessary weight. Using a lighter Dacron on the leading edge and struts saves a significant amount of weight, without compromising strength or durability. The N-Max Dacron has a more balanced weave for a crisp, lively feel. The symmetrical yarn pattern gives the material a lower bias elongation that snaps back to its original shape faster. This provides the kite with a crisp response, more direct steering and more dynamic recovery.

Lighter weight bladders

We’ve chosen a lighter weight bladder material to match the refined lighter construction method. These ingredients combine for a super lightweight kite with the fastest response and turning speeds possible.

HyperFlow rapid single-point inflation

Ergonomic high volume single point inflation system with large diameter hose for rapid inflation and deflation. The cap and valve base geometry are optimised for more comfortable opening and closing in colder conditions (when your fingers are freezing). The bayonet style main inflation valve is compatible with most pumps – no adapter required.

Ride lighter wind conditions with a smaller kite

With responsive power delivery in light, shifty conditions, the Code Zero is highly efficient, and it reacts super direct on steering impulses. The Code Zero has a wide wind range and impressive power for a one-strut kite. It depends on the size, but it performs best in its low-end range, and will carry you through the lulls and gusts. When you’re riding with more wind, the smaller sizes will open the world of foil freestyle. The kite is lighter and faster through the window, making it fun for performing tricks.

It features longer, more progressive depower travel. The pressure gets higher as you bring the bar closer to your body. This helps the kite feel smoother and perform more responsively throughout the full depower range. Using the full length of travel helps improve the drift and ensures when you sheet out, it will still react. The Carve provides an extremely direct feel in both bar pressure and steering initiation, with intuitive feedback from the bar in both directions, so you’ll always know where your kite is.

New lighter weight durable reinforcement

For 2024 we’ve removed some unnecessary excess weight to help the kite drift better, without compromising the kite’s structural integrity. We’ve updated the reinforcement material at the trailing edge to a 2-ply canopy and maintained the dacron reinforcement on the wingtips. The two layers of canopy material are softer, allowing the kite to twist better and be more responsive. This re-engineered construction allows the kite to be more responsive in the steering and depower, improves the Carve’s static balance and light wind performance, without affecting the strength and durability. The lighter weight helps with the drift and behaviour of the kite and reduces any tendency to front stall in lightwind conditions.

Improved wind range with more low-end efficiency

The Carve’s low aspect ratio design creates more apparent wind, providing excellent stability and wind. For 2024, we’ve maintained the high-end and hangtime, improving the linear power delivery and low end. The kite is rock solid when it needs to be, yet still has the control and manageability you need for jumps and tricks. Strapless freestyle riders will love the hangtime and catch, which lets you stay in the air for longer, kiteloop with ease and land softly.

Lightweight bladders in ALL sizes

The lighter the kite, the faster the steering and the more lift it creates. The Carve has lighter weight bladders in all sizes in the range. This helps the Carve to fly more efficiently, so the kite feels even lighter and more responsive in all conditions – and particularly in light wind. It also improves the overall static balance of the wing by reducing weight in the front of the kite. Bladders make up a bigger weight percentage than any other material used in a kite. The new bladder material is 17% lighter than in previous bladders.

Smoother power delivery

For 2024 we’ve redesigned the whole kite from top to bottom, reduced the leading-edge diameter and smoothed out the profiles to provide a smoother power delivery.

New continuous curve arc with direct pivot steering

For 2024 we’ve introduced a new continuous curve arc with smoother profiles and thinner wingtips. The wingtips are lighter, and we’ve introduced a smoother curve and more shape draft back, so the balance is more in the centre of the profile.

Highest quality low-drag, no-pulley bridle lines

All North bridle lines are pre-loaded and measured before cutting to improve accuracy and consistency. This results in reduced shrinkage, reduced elongation and improved longevity. Removing ALL pulleys from the bridle improves safety and gives the kite direct and precise handling. The end result is lower drag, more accuracy and a more direct feeling.

Refined aerodynamic profile transition panels

The profile transition panels ensure that as the leading edge expands, tension from the elongation doesn’t migrate into the canopy and a precise lateral profile shape is maintained as close to the leading edge as possible. This creates a smooth transition from the segmented leading edge to the curved canopy, so the profiles are more uniform throughout the entire wing. The panels reduce inconsistencies in the profile, resulting in a smoother, more efficient kite, with more aerodynamic airflow, drive and stability.

Fast-launching swept leading edge design

Allows more area in the centre of the kite for efficiency and makes the kite easy to roll off the water during critical relaunch in the surf. The Carve is not swept in the trailing edge like a bow kite, but it has a lot of curvature when viewed from the side, and the wingtips are not particularly wide. This puts a lot of the usable area in the center of the kite, rather than in the wing tip. So even though the Carve is lower aspect, it is still efficient for its size, and more importantly, the relaunch is super-quick. With less leading edge on the water, it doesn’t lay flat, so for fast relaunch simply rotate the bar. This helps if you’re riding waves and need to relaunch your kite quickly when a set’s coming.

2x personalised performance tuning options

Bar pressure and steering impulse can be adjusted on the wing tip, allowing you to fine tune the kite’s characteristics to your personal preference. There are two options. Use the attachment point closest to the wingtip for a lighter, more forgiving feel. If you prefer a more direct steering and shorter depower travel, you’re able to move the lines forward on the wingtip for more bar pressure.

Fast responsive steering with FlexPulse structure

The low sweep arc shape gives the kite a more powered turn through the entire wing. Its upright design ensures the twist from the steering lines runs deeper into the centre of the canopy. As a result, the power produced through the turn is constant through the entire loop, rather than just pivoting off the tip and then having a dead spot in the loop. The added energy and efficiency produced through the entire loop means the kite can come around quickly to catch you, and lofts nicely for a good landing.

Bridled hybrid design

The ultimate unhooked performer with balanced line slack for handle passes and unhooking – the hybrid design blends the best of freestyle and freeride. In today’s world a pure C-kite is not as efficient as what most people are used to riding, so combining the attributes of a C-kite and a less upright, wider arc kite together gives you a kite that’s not only efficient, but still has many of the attributes and behaviours of a C-kite.

Dynamic edge response

A combination of higher aspect ratio, smaller diameter leading edge and aerodynamic, leaner profile entry enables the Pulse to fly forward quickly after an explosive pop or when checking a rail edge. It also makes the Pulse very efficient and manageable, especially in extreme overpowered conditions.

Lightweight bladders now in all sizes

Bladders make up a bigger weight percentage than any other material used in a kite. The lighter the kite, the more efficiently it flies, the greater the performance in lighter winds, the faster the steering, the more lift created and the higher you jump.

Lightweight 2-ply canopy reinforcement material

We’ve reduced the amount of heavy duty canopy reinforcement in the Pulse. The Trailing Edge is a 2-ply canopy material. The lighter reinforcement material saves weight without affecting durability, strength or elongation control, and makes the kite more responsive in the steering and depower. The result is a durable kite that can hold its profile for increased performance and lift, but is also dynamic, flexible and can twist to turn.

Aerodynamic profile transition panels

The extra panels that connect to the leading-edge seam are now a single ply of canopy material for a less complicated, smoother profile entry. This material helps to reduce the overall weight of the kite, and stretches more uniformly together with the leading edge when it’s inflated, creating a smoother transition, more profile efficiency, better handling and a more balanced feeling. The panels reduce inconsistencies in the profile for more aerodynamic airflow and less turbulence.

Durable highest-quality Dacron inflated structures

All of the inflated structures and the wingtips in the Pulse are constructed from the highest quality industry-proven Dacron for the best strength to weight ratio in a heavy-duty application. For 2024 we’ve reduced all non-essential dacron panel reinforcements to save weight. We’ve maintained stiffness and reduced the flutter in the trailing edge, while ensuring longevity and durability for protection against chafing when self-launching.

Refined 2-stage arc design

The refined 2-stage arc design enables a smooth curved efficient central region of the kite to produce power, with straighter wing tips for a more dynamic steering response. A narrower span kite such as the Pulse is fast in flight, with less power overall.

HyperFlow rapid single-point inflation

Ergonomic high volume single point inflation system with large diameter hose for rapid inflation and deflation. The cap and valve base geometry has been optimised for more comfortable opening and closing in colder conditions (when your fingers are freezing). The bayonet style main inflation valve is compatible with most pumps. No adaptor needed.

All our kites are manufactured using high tenacity polyester yarn canopy material for lightness, high tear strength, zero porosity and longevity.

Kevlar reinforced strut system with bridle deflectors

For the most accurate and durable connection between the strut and the leading edge. Bridle deflectors on the leading edge prevent the control lines from snagging.

DuraLite seam protection

A lightweight reinforcement to protect from chafing and abrasion along the struts to the leading edge. Thin foam padding is inserted underneath to form a lightweight durable buffer which lifts the kite slightly off rough surfaces and protects the stitching along the struts and leading edge seams. Markcloth seam protectors on the canopy also help to protect the stitching.

Durable, higher tensile leading edge seams

There is a large amount of force on the closing seam of the leading edge due to inflation and steering movement. We’ve replaced the thread in the closing seam with a new lightweight thread that features a higher breaking strength and better shock-absorbing qualities. Strategically placed layers of unidirectional carbon tape reinforce the E-glass laminate in high-load areas. This layup is sandwiched with a Paulownia wood core to deliver a well-balanced, more forgiving flex so you can ride for longer, with flow and form. Core thickness variations and taper, longitudinal and lateral, help control the overall flex and feel.

Hybrid Basalt

A lightweight structural reinforcement that is stronger and more responsive than e-glass. The unidirectional basalt tapes contribute to a board’s lively feel and lower weight, delivering more pop without adding an unnecessary amount of stiffness. We’ve orientated the e-glass and basalt UD tapes in the laminate layup to optimise the loading of the individual fibres, resulting in a unique construction method with superior performance. Dynamic Flex

The flex characteristic of every TwinTip Board is determined by multiple features built into each specific design. Core thickness variations and taper, as well as detailing, longitudinally and laterally, play the most significant role in controlling the overall flex and feel. Board specific laminate layups then allow us to further fine tune the flex and board characteristics. We adjust the stiffness lengthwise and torsionally in conjunction with the rocker line, plan shape view and profile of the board, to give each board its specific performance characteristics.

Stainless M6 standardised hardware

Standardised SS316 M6x16mm hardware across all twin tip boards and accessories enables the use of the same PH3 screwdriver for assembly and makes replacement of parts super easy. North Multitool recommended.

Maximum Shock Absorption

The triple density dynamic support technology - absorbs and disperses impact after gravity-defying boosts, protects your heels and makes for softer landings. Softer high-density impact pads protect the heel from board contact on big landings, and are dual-moulded with a medium-density layer for serious impact protection. Another softer insert pod provides strategically-placed comfort under the ball of the foot.

Flex Pro Technology

Locked-in hold and grip when wet.

GripFlex lightweight, rubberized EVA provides soft cushioning and maintains grip underfoot when wet, while the fine grip pattern helps keep your foot locked in on various angles.

Anatomical support, structure and stability

Contoured anatomical footbed and ramped chassis increases lateral support, structure and stability. The footpad is ergonomically angled to encourage optimised weight distribution and knee alignment, helping to minimise common rider injuries. Outer angled heel inserts give increased lateral support, helping to ensure your foot rolls properly to provide a stable landing and protecting your knees and ankles when loading up to release into the air.

Ramped toe bar

The ramped toe bar has been engineered with an angled tactile edge to get purchase on and prevent your foot from slipping out during high rotation tricks. We’ve lowered the toebar a little on the Flex LX to provide a better fit for all different foot types.

Custom comfort

4 new sizes for a more personalised fit in S, M, L, XL. To ensure the right fit, check that there’s enough room for your toes to stretch and flex, and make sure the adjustable top strap doesn’t slip or rub. The upper should feel secure, but not too tight, and the footbed should match the shape of your foot.

Adjustable top-loading strap

For quick setup and a perfect fit for all sizes. Strap Adjusters allow comfortable foot positioning, a secure feel and use of the toe bar. Simply drop the inner and outer Strap Adjusters into the baseplate from the top, move forward or backward then pull up into your desired position. For a more locked-in feeling set the inner two Strap Adjusters further apart. The rear eyelets have an outward kick to ensure your foot never comes in contact with the edge of the eyelet on hard landings.

Lighter weight

Small and Medium are 22% lighter and the larger sizes are 14% lighter because we’ve reduced the footprint.

KnitFlex seamless topside comfort

Our lightweight and responsive seamless KnitFlex strap inners are engineered for topside comfort and support. The Knitflex fabric is pre-tensioned and laminated to the conforming foam inner, so it can create a 3D-curve without any bunching or creasing, and there’s no inner stitching to rub on your foot. The soft foam allows your foot to shuffle more easily into a locked-in position.

Precision velcro straps reduce water lift

Injection velcro decreases sand retention and extended top flaps increase hold and reduce water lift. The split inner-velcro design ensures a custom fit on top of the feet for all shapes, sizes and rider styles. Position the velcro straps wider apart for a more fixed feel, closer together for easy board-offs. Our fully re-engineered top flap gives a strong hold without compromising strap flexibility.

Easy stance adjustment to suit all riders.

Our Flex Pro mounting system uses standardised M6x16mm screw hardware to fasten the binding to the board in various positions. As a starting point we recommend using Setting I (debossed on the topside of chassis) for North 2020 – 2022 boards. Use Setting II for 2023 boards onwards. From there you can change your duck stance, move the bindings backwards (heelside) or forwards (toeside) or set the position for a wide or narrow stance.

Compatible with other boards

The oval fastening hole allows for both 6”- 6.5” industry standard screw spacings, which makes the Flex LX compatible with most TwinTip brands.

FlipTech mounting

For 2023 and 2024, all of the North TwinTip boards have our new FlipTech Mounting System, with centreline inserts. This means if you wear out one side of your board, simply flip the bindings around and you’ve got a shiny new heelside rail again. The Flex Pro bindings are compatible with both the 2023-2024 FlipTech boards and 2020-2022 offline boards. The “2” indicator on the Flex Pro is for the boards that have flip tech, and is our recommended setup positioning for a 15/-15 degree duck stance.

Simplicity and ergonomic comfort, with one single strap for even tension. We’ve balanced simplicity and support with a single fastening strap, and we’ve optimised the footbed thickness and durometer for cushioned comfort.

Super-fast assembly with maximum adjustability

Move your bindings backwards (heelside) or forwards (toeside), set the position for a wide or narrow stance, and change your duck stance. Simply drop the entire binding onto the board and insert the screw where you want it. The intuitive Flex connection system uses standardised M6x16mm screw hardware to fasten the binding to the board in various positions with easy stance adjustment to suit all riders. The anatomically-shaped footbed is engineered using a single layer of waterproof rubberized EVA foam. Lightweight, durable, and impact absorbing, with the grip pattern height increased for added comfort, its forward-angled anti-slip serration pattern helps your foot stay in place on various angles. The shock-absorbing footbed is ergonomically angled to encourage optimised weight distribution and knee alignment, provide core support and reduce pressure on your feet, knees, hips and back.

Seamless KnitFlex top strap

The soft and comfortable single-fastening strap conforms to all foot shapes, while the rigid skeletal frame within the strap ensures a supportive locked feel. Our unique seamless KnitFlex lining is pre-tensioned and laminated to the conforming foam inner, so it can create a 3D-curve without any bunching or creasing, and there’s no stitching to rub on your foot.

Extended lateral arch supports

The inner and outer arch supports ensure an even distribution of weight and stabilise the tarsal bones, allowing for a more solid stance and maximum support during hard landings. The arch supports are extended inside the strap to ensure comfort where the top strap meets the footbed, protecting your foot from the most rigid load-bearing[HP1] part of the binding. No blisters, no hard edges.

Raised toe grip

The raised toe grip allows your toes to remain loose and spread out in their natural position, while also providing an edge for riders to get purchase on. The new softer toe bar has been engineered to suit different foot shapes, allowing the rider to grip on with toes and prevent your foot from slipping out during high rotation tricks and landings.

Shaped heel cup

The shaped heel cup cradles the heel and stabilises the foot upon impact. We’ve engineered it wider on the new Flex so you can lock your foot sideways in both directions.

Injection Velcro strap

Decreases sand and debris retention. Extended top flaps increase hold and reduce water lift.

Longitudinally convexed chassis shape

The convex drives more pressure on to the tip and heel of the chassis when the binding is attached to the board, locking out sand and debris from under the binding.

Two size options

A good starting point would be Men’s US 9 (EU42.5) and above for binding size L/XL but we highly recommend trying before purchase to guarantee the best fit. We have found it’s more to do with the shape and angle of your upper foot than foot length when aiming for the most effective fit.

Surfboard Technology

The lightest way to make the strongest board. We’ve engineered our EcoLite Impact Resistant Bamboo Construction for durable lightweight strength and stiffness with fast feedback. By using thin layers of bamboo veneers in the laminate, you gain global stiffness of the board and impact resistance at once, while keeping the board weight really low. The Cross has a very agile and direct feel. There’s no delay when you give a steering command. It is also soft on the landings and handles the choppy conditions extremely well.

HONEYCOMB MESH RECYCLED CARDBOARD PACKAGING

We’ve removed all plastic from our surfboard packaging, replacing it with a unique cushioning material that mimics honeycomb. Strategically cut to allow the card to stretch into many different hexagons, this flexible material creates a lightweight protective layer of ‘honeycomb’ mesh. The mesh behaves like a spring to absorb impact and protect the board from abrasion. Conventional cardboard box packaging is very rigid and offers little cushioning or support around large, curved items like our surfboards. As a solution, the space between a product and its box is often filled with polystyrene, bubble wrap and other single-use plastic materials to create a layer of protection. Many of these materials cannot be recycled and contribute to the plastic waste that ends up in our oceans and landfills.

Foilboard Technology

Tri-plane hull design

Designed for earlier takeoffs and faster release. The double V-shape in the bottom contour of the board is created by a single concave in the centre with an angled planing surface on each side. The water tracks from the central concave and side rails to the two longitudinal spines, allowing the board to lift and release quickly, without sticking. The angled-planing surfaces run right through to the tail, allowing you to touch down on more variable rail angles without catching. SCOOP

Refined Bevelled Rails

Bevelled rails help with touchdown recovery, creating a wider deck with a narrower footprint. The effect is like having a smaller board. You don’t stick when you touch the water, but you still have the standing area for comfort. SCOOP

Hybrid Carbon Technology Lighter weight construction for stiffness, manoeuvrability, and glide. The stiffer the board, the better it will pump and the more responsive it feels. A light yet durable epoxy composite laminate, with a balanced carbon and e-glass fibre layup is wrapped around an EPS core. High-density closed cell PVC reinforcement around the foil track mount, leash plug, and foot strap inserts spreads the load. An ultra-lightweight double bamboo reinforcement layer under the standing area adds greater impact resistance and rigidity. SCOOP

Integrated high-density structural stringer system

The DropBox foil mounting tracks are embedded into a high-density closed-cell PVC block. Two high-density PVC stringers are glued to each side of this block, distributing the load lengthwise, and the full system connects the top and bottom laminate skins for maximum support. SCOOP

Includes foil to board mounting hardware

The DropBox M8 screws and t-nuts are supplied with your North Foilboard. You’ll find them installed into the mast tracks (so you don’t lose your nuts). North Foilboards are compatible with foils with an industry-standard 165x90mm connection. ALL BOARDS

As you step down in size, you’ll step up in speed. The smaller sizes are even faster, more agile and have a higher top-end speed perfect for kite foiling or wake foiling in the 700, 850 and 1050 size. (1200 for the bigger riders).

The foil section is focused more on low drag when up on the foil, reasonable take-off and stall speeds. The outline balances efficiency and manoeuvrability. The flat centre-section with anhedral further along the span and flattened wing tips delivers predictable turning and improved ventilation resistance.

HIGH SPEED PERFORMANCE

Our highest-performance front wings, ideal for intermediate to advanced riders. Incredibly efficient, fast and direct, the HA Series is ideally suited to highspeed kitefoiling, surfing bigger waves, and riding fastmoving downwind swells. The wingtips are designed for zero ventilation when you tip-breach, allowing you to crank faster, tighter radius turns at higher speeds, without losing speed. The smaller HA550-HA950 has less planing surface and higher stall speed. They are designed to generate maximum efficiency and lift for high-speed kite foiling.

Impossibly thin. Impressively fast.

We’ve reduced the thickness of the submerged portion of our new High Modulus Carbon masts by over 15% compared to our standard Carbon masts, while also increasing both bending and torsional stiffness.

HM85 The HM85 covers all disciplines. Wind-powered disciplines require edging against the wind to create forward drive. Some of this drive comes from the front wing and some comes from the mast. To efficiently provide this drive, the chord length in the submerged part of the mast is slightly longer. It increases near the top of the mast to maximise stiffness with no drag penalty, as this part of the mast is clear of the water once on foil.

What is High Modulus?

Modulus of Elasticity (E) is a measurement of the stiffness of a material and is defined as the ratio of stress to strain when the material is deformed. The higher the modulus, the stiffer the material (i.e., the greater the stress necessary to cause deformation).

High Modulus carbon fibers are created through specialized heat treatment processes which deliver much higher tensile modulus values around 57 msi (million pounds per square inch), but at a reduced tensile strength of 640 ksi. This fiber will produce a part that is much stiffer but will lower tensile strength.
