The high-performance canopy material is engineered from two 66% recycled laminate films, sandwiched around UHMWPE fibres laid in the 0 direction and +/- 60-degree direction, making it ultrastiff in three directions. Requires careful handling To keep your Mode Ultra feeling crisp and new for longer, always rinse and dry after each use, and carefully roll the wingtips toward the strut to store – it is important not to fold or crease the canopy.

N-Xi is less brittle than the heavier X-ply used in windsurfers and sails – it creases but won’t break. However, it does require more careful handling than a polyester canopy. northfoils.com 2 3

The lightweight carbon trim handles offer a more immediate, direct response and balance adjustment. The two handlebars are wrapped in a soft EVA comfort grip. Carbon UDi Technology Chasing stiffness of the inflated airframe, whether locally or globally.

Anti-deflection Carbon UD tapes are placed inside the leading edge on strategic high load areas, to provide additional wingtip stiffening while keeping the wing lightweight and responsive. North Sails is renowned for using this technology in their podium-proven 3Di race sails. We’ve taken the same material and implemented it in the Nova and Nova Pro Wingtips. We’ve engineered the Mode Ultra using the Carbon UDi technology across the entire Leading Edge, from tip to tip, to stiffen out the airframe.

N-X6 Trailing Edge Panel Engineered for use in the highly-loaded TE area, durable and lightweight N-X6 panels help to maintain shape hold over time, provide greater TE tension, dampen flutter and help to create a cleaner release with minimal drag. N-X6 is a new high-performance, low-elongation wing canopy material specifically designed to handle higher loads. A symmetrical 6-yarn reinforcement is woven into the fabric every 10mm, both in the warp and weft direction, ensuring the material is ultra-low stretch with ultra-high tear strength. NX-6 is 40% stiffer in the warp direction, 55% stiffer in the weft direction, and 3x torsionally stiffer in the 45-deg bias direction than a traditional canopy material (51gsm).

Learn to foil 2400 / 2100 / 1850 / 1500 Ideal for progressing, the larger sizes provide a stable set-up for learning to wing foil or towing behind a boat. These wings easily generate a great amount of lift without the need to pump, and are super stable so you can focus more on your wing in your hands.

The foil section prioritises pitch stability, early takeoffs and low stall speed. More sweep in the TE than the smaller size helps to make these big wings more manoeuvrable and easier to turn. More anhedral provides directional stability.

The MA2400v2 is engineered in an affordable prepreg e-glass construction, offering the same high performance, durability, and impact resistance as the carbon pre-preg. The MA1850 and MA2100v2 are available in both constructions.

The smaller sizes are even faster, more agile and have a higher top-end speed. Ideal for freeride wingfoiling at speed, freestyle or in surf, and perfect for kite foiling or wake foiling in the 700, 850 and 1050 size. (1200 for the bigger riders).

The foil section is focused more on low drag when up on the foil, reasonable take-off and stall speeds.

The foils’ angle of attack change forgiveness means you don’t have to be an expert or have perfect pumping technique. ​ A refined balance of roll stability and manoeuvrability gives you confidence during pumping and take-offs, and the ability to initiate smooth and powerful rail-to-rail carves. Push it harder. Lip stall and lay down banking turns, knowing tip ventilation is a thing of the past. ​ Reduced distance between the mast and front wing makes for faster, tighter pivoting turns. The minimal sweep outline improves low-speed performance and effectively reduces fuselage length compared to swept stabilizers​. S192 Relaxed, speedy, flowy and effortless - an intermediate rider will find the S192 super stable and easy to pump when paired with the smaller Downwind Front Wings.

The S192 also pumps efficiently with the Surf Series, is ideal for charging white wash and bigger surf and has so much glide you can pump around to connect waves with ease. For winging, pair the S192 with the bigger Downwind Foils - the glide is the stand-out factor.

S142 The S142 is higher performance, crazy fast and whippy.

Your average rider may find it a little more advanced for pumping, but with enough grunt to dig out if you need to. Supercharge your setup for speed with the new High Modulus Mast and smaller Downwind foils.

The S142 has enough holding power to take you right up to the DW1400, but we recommend the S192 for the larger Downwind Foils.

SONAR STABILIZER SHIM KIT

The rear Stabilizer’s main role is to maintain a level and stable flight path. However, conditions and user preference may change what stabilizer angle feels the best (aka the sweet spot).

The smallest tweak in the AOA can improve comfort, reduce fatigue, change the cadence of your pump or the turning radius of your carve, allowing you to increase/ decrease your front and rear foot pressure without changing your foot position.

With the Sonar Shim Kit you can stack multiple shims, from -0.5 to +2.5 degrees.

Positive shimming will increase front foot pressure. Negative shimming will reduce front foot pressure. The full stack (+2.5deg) creates the maximum recommended AOA to ensure your stabilizer is still effective without creating drag.

Shimming changes the angle of attack (AOA) and controls the amount of downforce the Stabilizer creates on the overall foil system.

HIGH MODULUS CARBON MAST HM80 / HM85 / HM105

HM80 The HM80 favours disciplines without wind power prone surf, pump and downwind. The shorter chord length over the entire mast length reduces drag and increases manoeuvrability. This delivers more glide, more efficient pumping, and quicker turns.

HM85 The HM85 covers all disciplines, with a focus on wingfoiling. Wind-powered disciplines require edging against the wind to create forward drive. Some of this drive comes from the front wing and some comes from the mast. To efficiently provide this drive, the chord length in the submerged part of the mast is slightly longer. It increases near the top of the mast to maximise stiffness with no drag penalty, as this part of the mast is clear of the water once on foil.

HM105 The HM105 has been optimised for racing. The thickness of the submerged part of the mast is a further 1mm thinner than the HM80 and HM85, to provide maximum top-end speed. As a result this mast is not for jumping. Like the HM85, the chord length in the submerged region has been tailored to provide good upwind drive, while the chord length increases above the waterline to maximise stiffness.

What is High Modulus?

Modulus of Elasticity (E) is a measurement of the stiffness of a material and is defined as the ratio of stress to strain when the material is deformed. The higher the modulus, the stiffer the material (i.e., the greater the stress necessary to cause deformation).

High Modulus carbon fibers are created through specialized heat treatment processes which deliver much higher tensile modulus values around 57 msi (million pounds per square inch), but at a reduced tensile strength of 640 ksi. PVC Dropstitch Technology Inflatable PVC dropstitch construction is durable, impact absorbing and ding resistant. This makes it ideal for the boat, and a forgiving surface to fall on when you’re learning to wing or foil. SEEK AIR Tri-plane hull design Designed for earlier takeoffs and faster release.​The double V-shape in the bottom contour of the board is created by a single concave in the centre with an angled planing surface on each side. The water tracks from the central concave and side rails to the two longitudinal spines, allowing the board to lift and release quickly, without sticking.​The angled-planing surfaces run right through to the tail, allowing you to touch down on more variable rail angles without catching. SCOOP, SWELL, SEEK Refined Bevelled Rails Bevelled rails help with touchdown recovery, creating a wider deck with a narrower footprint. The effect is like having a smaller board. You don’t stick when you touch the water, but you still have the standing area for comfort. The Swell also features grip-friendly concaved forward rails, to make duckdiving and pop-ups easier.

While riding you can grab the rail for added stability and control of your foil. The concaved bevelled rail also allows your fingers to stay clear of the planing surface, eliminating drag during take-offs. SCOOP, SEEK, SWELL. GORE™ waterproof 2-way vent The EPS core of a high volume board is affected by extreme temperature changes. To prevent air pressure build-up we’ve installed a two-way GORE™ Protective Vent on the top deck. This allows air to pass in and out of the board, while preventing water from entering. The vent is factory-fitted and does not require any adjustment. SWELL, SEEK​ Intuitive Concaved Deck The highly concaved deck allows more intuitive foot positioning and also acts like a counterbalance, so you don’t feel like you are heeling over as far on the board.

Simply drop your foil pre-assembled with screws and t-nuts into the track, slide it backwards, then tighten the screws to fasten. Our unique structurally-integrated DropBox has a longer track for a wider adjustment range, allowing you to precision-tune the foil set up for your rider weight. A measurement guide next to the track aids correct positioning. Industry-standard 90mm track spacing means North Foilboards are compatible with most foil systems.
