When I got home at the end of this night in 1995, I wrote down all the dialogue while I could remember it word for word. It really seemed to contain sufficient range of material to make a good comic book story, and had so many elements representative of my experiences as a transgendered street sex worker, so I stayed up an extra couple of hours, and sketched the layout (which flowed pretty effortlessly from the actual sequence of events). A few copies were made of the story as drawn by me, and I sent one to a publisher of true-life erotic comic books. The editor there liked the story, but did not think my artwork of publishable quality. (Comic books art styles were more conformist in the mid 1990s.) Clint Cure, the Melbourne artist known as Q-Ray, offered to redraw the book in a more commercial style, and so we submitted the work you have just read to the publisher again. The editor had changed, and the new editor did not think the story credible as a true-life story. Another dozen publishers were approached, but to no avail. Eleven years later. .. Following the "Anti-Cartoon Violence" recently ("Anti-Cartoon Violence". The blackest sense of humour in me just cracks up at that phrase, and at the intensity of the violence unleashed by those seeking to censor cartoons (of Mohammed) with mob terrorism. Seeking control by brute force is the very antithesis of civilisation.), I went searching for myoid (1984) "Continuing Adventures of God" cartoons, and found a slightly water stained copy of QRay/s artwork from 1995. I read it again, and realised it was a worthy of more exposure. So, here it is, thanks to the marvel of modern cheap high quality photocopying technology!
