Black Miners Museum, led by Nottingham News Centre CIC since 2019, is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund Midlands & East, National Lottery Players, project partners and the wider public. BMM aims to engage all individuals, groups and organisations around the world, to develop knowledge and awareness around diversity in mining heritage and industrial history through education, creative arts, research, new collections and events.

Black Miners Museum (BMM) preserves and shares heritage through services such as: • Heritage project management • Black history /diverse heritage consultancy & support • Touring exhibitions & displays (national & international) • Workshops & presentations (online & in person) • Contemporary and archive photo usage services • Catalogues of mining and industrial documents, collating existing research • Sourcing and preserving rare artefacts • Loans of artefact boxes & cultural costumes collections for schools, colleges, universities, groups & organisations • Oral history /audio recordings training & transcribing services • Short film & video productions support and BMM media production library • Book / Poster publication sales • TV & radio broadcasting contributions & co-production

Nottingham News Centre, founded in 2013, in the East Midlands UK, aims to grow lasting partnerships with national and international mining museums, industrial organisations and media partners by creating and sharing content, in order to secure a lasting legacy for diverse mining heritage.
