Step into Valhal, the new event tent from Nordisk, a space where ancient tradition meets modern design. Inspired by the Sami people’s practical designs, Valhal is your community house in the wilderness, a place to connect and celebrate under the open sky.

It is forged with extreme measures of strength, durability and flexibility, is unbelievably lightweight and of course, made from responsible resources, in a new blend of rip-stop technical cotton, combining organic cotton and recycled polyester.

Valhal Event Tipi

Inspired by the robust, yet simplistic design of the Sami, the Valhal Event Tipi stands out with its sloped expansive design, engineered for medium-sized groups of 30-50 people, providing a robust yet flexible venue for scouts, festivals, and any other outdoor social gathering.

Crafted from a technical cotton blend, this tipi features a strong webbing skeleton that reinforces each segment, ensuring stability and durability. The central attraction is the multi-adjustable walls, segmented for independent configuration, allowing for numerous setup options—from partially opened sections that adapt to the wind, to a fully opened 360° panoramic view and a welcoming floating wizard hat look. This flexibility increases the usable area from 38 to 55 m2 in the Valhal 35, and from 64 to 95 m2 in the Valhal 60.

Pitching is surprisingly simple and straightforward, requiring just two people and minimal time, thanks to the low-tech pitching string guide and a solid 50 mm steel center pole. Valhal even can be set up without the center pole, by inserting four wooden rafts in the pole pockets in the ceiling, thus replacing the center pole with a pyramid skeleton.

With its unique ability to morph in shape according to personal preference or environmental needs, the Valhal is more than just a shelter—it’s an adaptable, dynamic space that encourages creativity and interaction. Whether partially opened to shield against the wind or fully expanded to embrace the landscape, it invites its inhabitants to tailor their experience to their adventure. The story behind the name:

Valhal derives from the Old Norse name Valhöll, meaning ‘hall of the fallen’. Valhal was where viking warriors, who died honourably in battle, met up in the afterlife to eat, drink and party with gods and friends in eternity.

According to legend, Valhal had 540 gates, through each of which 800 warriors could walk shoulder by shoulder. They would go out every morning, fight an epic battle against each other, and at night, everyone would resurrect and join each other for another epic feast in Valhal.

Nordisk has added a new and innovative edition to its legendary fabric range; The Technical Cotton Eco Ripstop

The new fabric is characterized by a high breathability and high strength and durability. The unique mix of natural cotton and high strength man-made polyester offers the best of the two worlds.

And now with a new and additional sustainable choice of Organic Cotton and Recycled Polyester, the new fabric belongs in a new generation of offering a greener choice. The fabrics core is also designed to be stronger, by a pure boast of material, with 50% more mass the new fabric weighs in at 310g / m2, where as the classic little brother (our classic Technical Cotton) of 210g/m2 is still the classic and well established choice. The new Technical Cotton Eco Ripstop has a high level of breathability and will ensure pleasant environment for living environments.

A water repellency of 350mm HH and a UV shield with a skin protection factor of UPF +50 are some of the incapsulated features along with a mold and fungus reducing shield.

The innovative new fabric also features a well balanced Ripstop technique, by which reinforced square layered yarns form a stronger defense throughout the fabric. It is ultra sturdy and will ensure to perform, also under big and high stress loads.
