What to do in case of an accident or vehicle breakdown

▪ Immediately turn on your hazard lights.
▪ If possible, move the vehicle to a safe location o the road to prevent further accidents.
▪ If possible (after ensuring safety), put the warning triangle at a safe distance of at least 45 meters to warn other road users of the stationary vehicle on the road.
▪ Check yourself, your passengers, and the other car’s passengers for injuries.
▪ If anyone is injured, call emergency services at 112 right away. All mobiles can dial this number without using any extensions in front of it.
▪ Exchange information with the other party involved, including names, contact details, the vehicle's registration number, and insurance information.
▪ Take photos of the accident scene, including vehicle damages and relevant road conditions.
▪ Note down the names and contact details of any witnesses.
▪ Use the accident statement found inside the glove compartment. Please complete it with the other driver and ensure both parties sign it.
▪ If the other vehicle is not willing to sign the accident statement or is not present, do the following:
▪ Call the Police:
◦ Report the accident to the police by calling 112
◦ Provide them with accurate details of the accident location.
◦ When the police arrive at the spot, provide a detailed statement to the o cer.
▪ Avoid admitting fault, discussing liability with the other party involved, or signing the accident statement if you are unsure of whose fault it is or what the statement says. Call us and ask for our assistance, or call the police, and when they arrive, provide them with your statement.
▪ Notify us immediately. You can reach us through the following channels:

▪ Please provide details of the accident and follow our representative's further instructions.
▪ As soon as possible, please send all the documents, such as pictures of the accident, a brief incident description, the accident statement, and the location, using WhatsApp or email info@ntg.is. This information should always be provided in the event of an accident or damage to the vehicle.

▪ Safely pull over to the side of the road and turn on your hazard lights.
▪ Ensure all passengers are safe and, if necessary, exit the vehicle and check the car's condition.
▪ In case of strange noises, smoke, or other strange behavior, stop the engine immediately and do not try to start again.
▪ We will dispatch roadside assistance or a replacement vehicle as soon as possible in cases where the issue is related to a vehicle breakdown.
▪ In case of not a breakdown of the vehicle but other road assistancerelated matters like a flat tire, damage or flat battery, we will provide you with instructions or contact a local service center, as services like this are not provided by the car rental company.
▪ If it is safe to do so, try to identify the cause of the breakdown (e.g., flat tire, engine issue).
