ALBANY PARK COMMUNITY CENTER

Located in Albany Park, Chicago, just off the Kimball brown lne station, this community center serves as a place for artistic expression for a rich, creative community. The center will foster studio spaces, a gallery, and classrooms, inviting all ages to explore and create. Its exterior design features a concrete exterior detailed with a colorful, living facade. Concrete pockets holding soil among the facade hold blooming flowers to create a live mural, along with a hydroponic garden. The contempory aesthetic of the center contrasts to the animated neighborhood and embraces the train lot located directly behind the building.
