NOMV will transform the status of mental wellness within the profession so veterinary professionals can survive and thrive through education, resources, and support.

Suicide Prevention Month Outreach

In support of Suicide Prevention Month in September, our NOMV Advocates reached out to veterinary clinics across the country as part of a Coordinated NOMV Advocate Outreach Campaign!

Advocates provided Mental Health Tip cards, featuring 10 mental health tips and a QR code to the NOMV website. More than 75 clinics received visits from our Advocates, and at least 1,800

Mental Health Tip cards were distributed!

Many Advocates also dropped off thank you cards, goodies, gift bags, and additional materials from NOMV. Advocates enjoyed the outreach process, and received positive feedback from the staff and doctors at various clinics!

Specifically, clinics showed appreciation for their thoughtfulness, advocacy for the veterinary profession, and for providing avenues of support for those who need it.

Thank you to our wonderful Advocates for showing support to the veterinary community and raising awareness for NOMV!

Nominations for the NOMV Annual Gala Awards are open from now until October 23rd!

The NOMV Gala is an award ceremony recognizing the contributions of our incredible team of supporters! Anyone is eligible to submit a nomination (including self nominations) except for members of the Annual Award Review Committee.

NOMV & AmerisourceBergen

NOMV's Executive Director, Darlene Bos, joined dozens of other nonprofit leaders at the AmerisourceBergen Foundation Grantee and Nonprofit Partner Conference last month.

NOMV receives grant funds from the foundation to operate its Veterinary Practice Emergency Grant program. Darlene was invited to serve on a panel titled "Addressing Challenges in Mental Health" along with representatives from CADCA, K9 Partners for Patriots, and Nurse-Family Partnership.

Thanks to our generous donors, NOMV is able to provide support to veterinary professionals in distress through our Support Grants program

In September 2022, NOMV awarded $8,000 to 15 approved applicants.

Thank you, AmeriVet!

During Race Around the World, the "AmeriVet Cares" team logged 3618.69 km, or 2,203.33 miles, via atlasGO. To show their continued support of NOMV, AmeriVet contributed an additional five dollars per mile logged by their race team members, bringing the "AmeriVet Cares" race team to a total of $11,856.65 raised for the NOMV mission.

Giving Tuesday with NOMV!

This year, we have a super fun Giving Tuesday Campaign and we hope you join us and help us spread the word!

For every $25 you donate to our Giving Tuesday Campaign, we will send a lovely postcard to a person of your choosing letting them know that you made a donation to NOMV on their behalf. What better way to show someone you care while having a positive impact by helping NOMV?! And the best part is that you can send as many postcards as you want and NOMV will mail them out for you!

SPOTLIGHT

NOMV would like to give a special spotlight to our sponsor, Suveto, for their continued support!

Over the summer, Suveto hosted their "Let's Move Together" challenge to further their commitment to the mental well-being of veterinary professionals. For every activity logged by participants, Suveto made a donation to NOMV until reaching their goal of $10,000.

With the wonderful support of the community, Suveto exceeded their goal for a total donation of $11,805 to NOMV! This money helps to fund our programs and continue our mission to provide resources and support to the veterinary community.
