Growing Our Team!

As we begin to work with more teams of veterinary professionals, we are adding to our fantastic team to meet the needs of the industry In December, we added Kelsey Creelman to our team as a full-time Program Administrator! In this role she will be working directly with Clinic Advocates to support their pursuit of developing and maintaining mentally healthy cultures.

Kelsey grew up motivated by her love of animals and her desire to help others After spending over 12 years working in various capacities in veterinary medicine, Kelsey knew she wanted to provide more support to the veterinary community. She obtained her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2021 with the goal of becoming a Veterinary Social Worker Kelsey is extremely passionate about bringing adequate mental health care, wellness, and resources to everyone in the veterinary field In addition to her work at NOMV, Kelsey provides individual therapy at a local mental health private practice in Albuquerque, NM, serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the International Association of Veterinary Social Work (IAVSW), and is pursuing her Veterinary Social Work certificate from the University of Tennessee.

CLEAR at the NOMV Gala Awards

On December 3, 2022 the NOMV staff, Board, and volunteers gathered in Santa Fe, New Mexico to look forward to the year ahead and celebrate the year that was. We hosted our second annual Gala Awards to acknowledge the amazing efforts, programs, and individuals that contributed to the success of our organization CLEAR Blueprint was involved with two awards handed out: 2022 Sponsor of the Year (Merck Animal Health) and 2022 Committee of the Year (CLEAR Blueprint). Year End Wrap Up

2022 has been an incredibly dynamic year for CLEAR Blueprint January started with our team still working on developing our educational content. In March, we began beta testing with active workplaces that employ veterinary professionals. Over the summer we began taking steps to scale up our program including growing from one part-time staff member to two full-time staff and two Masters of Social Work student interns Cassandra and Neyva, and their supervisor Augusta O’Reilly, LCSW, VSW As we now wrap up December, we spent a little time basking in the honor of being named 2022 Committee of the Year at the 2nd annual NOMV Gala Awards before preparing for an exciting 2023!

Here are some data to illustrate the wonderful year CLEAR Blueprint has had:

We were contacted by 118 teams of veterinary professionals across four continents who wanted to learn more about CLEAR

Our team met with representatives from 49 workplaces ranging in size from 1 to 194 employees.

A total of 32 teams began their participation in CLEAR Blueprint, including specialties like emergency medicine, wildlife rehabilitation, neurology, equine medicine, small/companion general practitioners, and teaching hospitals.

Through their engagement with our program, we have certified a total of 10 employers that foster and maintain mentally healthy workplace cultures – as reported by the staff that work there.
