Many of the images in this book were photographed on January 7, 2025, the same day that wildfires engulfed Los Angeles, our home city. In the days that followed, we donated clothing and supplies to fire victims, and have continued to support California Fire Foundation , which provides emotional and financial assistance to families of firefighters and the communities that they protect.
This book was printed on carbonbalanced paper with the help of World Land Trust. They protect Earth's most threatened biologically significant habitats by restoring and guarding carbonrich wildlife in the tropics. To date, we've helped offset nearly six million pounds of carbon dioxide by paying to protect 175 acres of endangered rainforest. This is a commitment we plan to continue growing annually.
We are proud to be a Certified B Corporation . To qualify, we had every facet of our business practices audited, including our impact on workers, suppliers, and the environment. After successfully completing this process, we signed the B Corp Declaration of Interdependence, solidifying our commitment to using business as a force for good. Our journey to becoming a Certified B Corp underscores our dedication to our community, our employees' well-being, and our philanthropic initiatives.

It all started in 2009 when Farrah Brothers quit her corporate job to chase her dream. While autumn often calls for warm roasts and baked goods, I love leaning into the grill this time of year. With just a few seasonal ingredients, great grilled recipes can feel elevated yet effortless. Whether I’m hosting on the patio or contributing to a friend’s dinner party, the spread of smoky, flame-kissed bites always brings people together.
Mediterranean Grilled Chicken with Olives & Roasted Garlic
– 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped (plus a few sprigs for garnish)
– 1 tsp dried oregano
Salt & freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions
– In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, chopped rosemary, oregano, salt, and pepper.
– Add chicken and coat thoroughly. Cover and marinate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for deeper flavor).
– Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
– Brush grates or pan lightly with oil.
– Place chicken skin-side down and cook for 5–6 minutes per side, until well charred and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
– During the last few minutes, add halved garlic heads (cut side down) directly on the grill or in the pan until golden and softened.
– Transfer chicken and garlic to a serving platter.
– Scatter Kalamata olives and a few sprigs of rosemary on top for garnish.
– Drizzle with a little more olive oil or pan juices before serving.
– Pair with roasted potatoes, crusty bread, or a simple cucumber-tomato salad for a full Mediterranean feast.
