Viking Guestrooms Romantic and luxurious, these rooms feature beautiful period inspired furniture and the décor of Newport’s Gilded Age. Pillow top mattresses are draped with Egyptian cotton bed linens and a rich satin duvet. Rooms feature built in cherry wardrobes, reminiscent of those found in elegant manor houses. In addition, LCD televisions are in every room. Beveled glass doors lead into the bathrooms which feature large showers wrapped in ‘pillow’ carved marble along with rain head showers.

International Tennis Hall of Fame Museum The International Tennis Hall of Fame Museum, housed in the historic Newport Casino, is an uncommon example of sporting excellence. Newport Historic District The Newport Historic District covers 250 acres in the center of Newport, and was designated a National Historic Landmark (NHL) in 1968 due to its extensive and well-preserved assortment of intact colonial buildings dating from the early and mid-18th century. Six of those buildings are themselves NHLs in their own right, including the city’s oldest house and the former meeting place of the colonial and state legislatures.

Newer and modern buildings coexist with the historic structures.

Prescott Farm Prescott Farm offers the visitor a glimpse of early New England buildings and landscape.

The farm buildings and land traces its origin to the early 18th century. Doris Duke, through the Newport Restoration Foundation, purchased the 40-acre farm with the idea of preserving open space and the Overing House (1730) as well as creating a setting for rural buildings from the area, which were in imminent danger of being lost through demolition.
