Welcome to the TMD Productions family, Thank you for choosing us to create and share this story with you Perhaps that is the first thing this welcome note seeks to clarify, that we take more than just a picture, we tell a story

To help us tell a beautiful story we need your utmost trust and cooperation, we trust you have chosen us having reviewed our work, the style of photography as well as editing style This is our DNA

Please consider that and know that your images will also most likely be in that same style but of-course following the agreed upon concept

TMD productions prides itself on its work and tries to remain fresh and innovative, this is important when choosing concepts as well as how effectively the chosen concept will relay the story

Some of the most important elements of the shoot are Hair, Makeup and Outfits as you prepare please take note of these few pointers for the best result

Makeup

The best makeup is always natural soft minimalistic makeup. Makeup that enhances your natural beauty try to communicate to your makeup artist that we will be taking really close up images at high resolutions, this means that techniques that are not so natural come off as dramatic so shy away from strong over drawn brows, sharp contour and excessive highlighting Please use "ben nye banana powder" (any yellow based powder) and glitter sparingly, Kindly also blend the makeup down if you will be wearing open chest/neck outfits.

Outfits

We require that you have at minimum two outfit changes for everyone shooting the more the better, we may not shoot all but it is best to have options Preferably no jeans and no sports wear we prefer loose , soft, flowy fabrics as these move and can be shaped folded draped scrunched up etc to aid in telling a story.

Hair

Again the best hair is flowy malleable hair if you have short hair or a "set" hair style then put more emphasis on having flowy outfits

Nails & Accessories

Please do not forget your nails and accesories, as long as they fit the look and feel.

This is the day the magic happens, you step on set or location and everything just falls into place well not quite your nerves set in, you feel awkward, don't know how to pose and have no idea how you look, is this pose okay?

To help ease the process and make this as enjoyable as possible we bring some props and where possible music, the music is to set the mood and pace for the shoot, feel free to just zone into the music, dance and go with its flow, the best poses come from moving around.

Dalisu will offer his guidance on posing and direction throughout the shoot, but we also rely on your role play / acting and natural chemistry So just be you, feel it, jolani if it's a couples shoot and just convey the feeling you wish to capture

Please feel free to also communicate on the day what you would like feel comfortable with and any questions you might have, but ultimately do allow yourself to trust the process sometimes we may take more time at a particular scene than another, we are also keeping in tune with what works and what doesn't and do the best to create magic with you

We look forward to your shoot date, let's create magic

DALISU NGOBESE FILMMAKER

Hey there I'm Dalisu Ngobese born and bred in Umlazi Durban, South Africa 1987-06-30

I am a visual professional with a passion for capturing the lives of black people in positive and interesting situations working as a video producer at Mr Price Group limited I started picking interest in moving pictures largely because of my film and television background at AFDA and DUT where my storytelling desire was shaped I fell in love with the challenge of taking small ideas and letting them grow into something I never imagined they could be, maybe that's why I love gardening so much as a side hobby at home with my sidekick little helper of a son Khwezi and my beautiful wife come photography assistant Nobelungu

Testimony to taking small ideas and letting them grow is in my passion for short films and PSA (Public Service Announcement) Notebly S thandwa (a township s love) got invited for screening at the DIFF (Durban International Film Festival) in 2012 and Cellphone Abuse won best new comer at the M-Net Tag Awards 2011 Currently I work for the mrp academy a learning and development department within the Mr Price Group Limited where I produce visual content for the training room and online learning From youtube like learning videos/motion graphics and photographic content.

I'm also engaging in a lifetime project inspired by my friend and mentor Zanele Muholi, where I document old people in my extended family and in my community in general This is to provide our future generation with a visual archive of where they come from so that each generation as a family and community doesn' t have to start from scratch when looking to self-actualize This is work I would love to bring to black communities all around the country and beyond

L E N S E

I also capture people's happy functions, be it parties, traditional events and weddings and baby showers alike I just enjoy seeing my people celebrating and enjoying each other's company

I bring all that emotion and special moments in carefully and professionally packaged final products to last several generations
