Preface This is a guide to the North Feltham Trading Estate covering the businesses, attractions, and amenities, near and nearby. Those familiar with the estate and the area will know of the many facilities and attractions set out in this guide.Those who are new or not so familiar may find this work to be of use. Area Feltham is situated in and near many areas of outstanding natural and manmade beauty. Feltham is the gateway not only to and from the world but also to some of the most beautiful and picturesque parts of England including the River Thames and the many lovely and unique places nestling on the banks and bends of the river

Feltham Feltham is a part of a vibrant and commercial community where internationally and nationally renowned blue-chip companies work alongside small to medium sized enterprises, surrounded by thriving residential suburbs of skilled and educated workers and affluent consumers There are several industrial and trading estates in the vicinity. These have national and international businesses. The whole area as one might expect near a major airport has many areas of warehousing and trading spaces and places.

The North Feltham Trading Estate is one of the largest trading estates in the South East. It is home to numerous businesses, with many devoted to providing services to nearby Heathrow Airport. The Estate, located in West London has excellent Air, Road, Rail and Underground connections

Nature The Estate nestles next to woods and small rivers and weirs, with a large hidden reservoir brushing the trees on one corner and just across the road, a pretty golf course, alongside vast wonderful heaths, with amazing views and precious wildlife. The fresh air from the woods, rivers, reservoirs and heaths maintains the fresh and clean atmosphere of the Estate . The estate streets are lined with greenery. There are large trees fronting the roadways of many buildings on the estate.

Buildings
There are a variety of buildings on the estate , some of them built just this year with some constructed over 50 years ago. The architectural styles on the estate differ widely and the images here show some of the range of designs.. We hope to profile some of the styles in more detail on the website and in future publications

People There are many busy and accomplished workers on the Estate who help businesses to trade and prosper to grow and evolve. There are workers going on early shifts in the morning and departing from their night shifts at dawn. The people on the estate have a wide range of skills ranging from the complex and technical to strategic and administrative. The people on the estate cook, they freight, they manufacture, they assemble, they trade, they create, they craft.

Property There are units of various shapes, sizes and facilities available on the Estate from time to time Segro is a multinational property company which has a number of buildings on the Estate many of them developed and built by them Nexus also has extensive developments on the Estate. Simmons and Hawker Ltd own and manage the well maintained Falcon Estate and have various units and offices available from time to time. Planes Given it’s location right next to Heathrow Airport, the Estate is witness to the many flights just before landing and just after takeoff, with a variety of planes flying overhead carrying people of all races. classes , colours and creeds, to and from to all corners of the globe. It takes a while but after a time the noise of the planes is less noticeable but daily the estate is greeted by one of our worlds most astonishing inventions flying high and low overhead.

For daily and weekly needs the Estate is well placed for shops and shopping of all sorts. There are grocery, off-licence and newsagent shops on some of the nearby corner roads of the Estate
The Estate is very fortunate to have a Tesco Superstore located right opposite it’s main entrance on Faggs Road .. A superstore where we can buy most useful things at a reasonable price, any time day or night, Tesco is the estate corner shop on a grand scale. Every little helps and this store is a lot that helps us and us it..

Local
Currently the Estate is further served by A Takeaway Van on Pier Road, A Costcutter, a Tesco Express, the Max Takeaway and a Thai Cafe on the Staines Road entrance. A few minutes on the way to Hatton Cross Station are the picturesque Green Man Pub and the unique SuperSinghs Pizza There are Petrol Stations on both exits of the Estate and several shops on a parade within five minutes walk away.

Central Way Cafe This is the hub of the estate, where people gather most of the daytime. Here the engineers, the technicians, the packers and the loaders, the managers and some owners, feast and replenish themselves for the work ahead. The Cafe supplies part of the fuel that drives the estate and attracts people from areas near and far The Cafe has a half open wooden decked porch where customers sit and eat and watch the world going by and the planes on their way to landing and just after taking off. A friendly and charming family run this place with efficiency and excellence. The place is always clean and bright, Generous portions are served briskly, with care and attention, with a wide range of dishes to suit most palates.

Shopping The Centre, in Feltham High Street, less than a mile away is the nearest large shopping centre for the Estate The Centre is a specially built shopping complex and has many well known outlets stocking a wide range of brands.Please see the spread overleaf There are also extensive shopping centres at Staines on Thames, Hounslow, Kingston on Thames and Richmond all just a few miles away

As might be expected there are many hotels near Heathrow Airport and what is near to the airport is near to the Estate as well. There is an ample range of accommodation to suit varied tastes and budgets. From Internationally renowned Five Star Hotels to small guest houses and many establishments in between. Profiled here and on the website is selection of some of the luxury hotels. All of them have world class restaurant, bars and generous conferencing and banqueting facilities, as can be seen from the images overleaf

There are many restaurants and bars within a few minutes of the estate and there is ample choice to suit most tastes and budgets. The spread overleaf shows some of these businesses with many more profiled on the Feltham Trading website

Nature Donkey Wood Donkey Wood located on the edge of the east boundary of the Estate is one of the most attractive and best known public open space sections of the riverside lands surrounding the estate and a relaxing place to take a lunchtime walk. From 2003 considerable improvements were carried out to make the woods and the paths more accessible. It has been only the last few years that Donkey Wood has been conveniently accessible
There is a wooden boardwalk in Donkey Wood of over a hundred yards alongside a small flowing section of the River Crane.

Hounslow Heath Hounslow Heath is a vast open public space covering 200 acres. It has a variety of flora and fauna . It is located 5 minutes walk from the entrance to the Estate and is a good place for rambling There is a small golf course alongside the Heath.

Attractions The estate is near malls, hotels, walks, woods, rivers, streams, lakes, gardens, royal parks, palaces, airports, golfing greens, heathlands and wildlife. This whole place and the area within ten miles around is outstanding in its beauty with so many places with picture postcard looks and the ambience to go with that. This all the more enchanting as not in the middle of nowhere, but about 25 minutes from Central London with convenient access from the Estate.

River Thames The Estate has quick and easy access to several bends of the winding Thames as it flows from Isleworth to Windsor and beyond. A short journey soon brings you to the graciously flowing beauty of this wonderful river, The pubs nestling on the banks of the river, full of good food and cheer, take short walk through cobblestone narrow streets in an air of preciousness with the radiant river flowing by and the people along the bank going with the flow, So many picturesque places to explore and all the while not far away from comfort and convenience.

Twickenham The River Thames flows in a wonderful setting at Twickenham. The walk along the riverbank from Twickenham to Richmond is filled with pleasant views and awesome vistas whilst walking on the waters edge, in a serene and fresh atmosphere. Twickenham has many shops and restaurants however just short stroll away and you discover the banks of the river, where the air is calm and the people are friendlier. Twickenham Just over 3 miles from the Estate taking about 10 minutes by car. Church Street The quaint shopping walk that is Church Street. Brimming with boutiques and restaurants. During the summer on several days a week the street is closed to cars in the evenings. The restaurants lay out their tables in the open air and people eat and drink in a festive and fun setting.

Eel Pie Island An arched footbridge links the riverbank to Eel Pie Island, where rock gods performed many years ago. hosting now a quiet peaceful secluded community
York House As you walk and explore, you come to the Riverside Gardens of York House, where there are statues of water nymphs set around a fountain. A small road bridge lets you cross over into York House where you are met with a the rare sight of a sunken garden and just over a low wall a relaxing place to sit next to a small pond in a Zen setting York House now contains the offices and chamber of Richmond upon Thames Council. In the past York House was owned by a succession of aristocrats and the pretender to the French throne, Phillipe comte de Paris and later by Sir Ratan Tata the Indian merchant prince.

Sunbury Sunbury just three miles from the Estate is right at the waters edge, where there are never too many people. Walking or driving along the narrow streets you turn a corner and are overtaken by the breathtaking vista of the Thames that opens up in front of you, The Three Fishes in Green Street Sunbury is one of the oldest pubs in Surrey, thought to date back to the 16th century. Sunbury also has a delightful Walled Garden which hosts annual concerts and plays in the summer months. The River Thames has many picturesque stretches but few finer than the Riverbank at Sunbury.

Hampton Court Palace Hampton Court Palace is well known but few people walk along its southern banks, where there are pleasant locks and flowing weirs and you can sit and relax soaking in the river mood. Hampton is just over three miles from the Estate
Staines on Thames Staines was last year renamed Staines on Thames and has a large shopping center as well as a whole complex of shops, bars and restaurants. The bridge crosses over the Thames and there is a wonderful pub called the Swan on the waters edge. Opposite on the river bank is Jimmys, part of a chain of buffet restaurants, a place where the feast will satisfy the most gargantuan of appetites

Penton Hook Marina Set in 80 acres and with 575 berths, Penton Hook is Britain ' s largest inland marina. It is situated on one of the loveliest reaches of the River Thames, close to the Chertsey and about a mile downstream from Runnymede where King John signed the Magna Carta.

Transport The Estate has good access to the motorway network with the M3, just a mile away and M4, 2miles away, and the M25 just over three miles distance. The Estate is well served by other major roads with easy and quick access to Central London and most of Britain
Rail Feltham Mainline Station just a mile away, provides a frequent service to London Waterloo taking only 30 minutes

Underground The Underground network is easily accessible with Hatton Cross Station on the Piccadilly Line being within 10 minutes walking distance of the Estate. The Piccadilly Line delivers you into the heart of London in just over an hour, with no transfers.
Bus The Estate is well served by several bus routes and the network is extensive. Many of the buses connect with buses that travel far into Central London and further away as well. The details of the buses are set out on the website.
