USE YOUR IRA TO MAKE AN IMPACT If you or a loved one is age 73 or older, your IRA likely comes with an annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). But did you know that you can use your RMD to support New Mexico PBS in a tax-smart way? By making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA, you can: • Satisfy all or part of your RMD • Potentially reduce your taxable income • Support the programming you care about It’s a simple move that turns a required withdrawal into meaningful impact for public media. Many of our supporters find it’s one of the most efficient and rewarding ways to give. To count for this tax year, your gift must be made directly from your IRA by December 31, 2026. In 1850, Berlioz slipped a gentle chorus into a Paris concert and credited it to “Pierre Ducré,” a 17th-century church composer he’d invented outright. Parisians who couldn’t stand his music were charmed: one declared that “Berlioz could never write a tune so beautiful”. He spent the next four years building a full oratorio around that little piece: L’Enfance du Christ, tracing the Holy Family’s flight into Egypt across three parts and ninety minutes. Most people know only its one famous excerpt, “The Shepherds’ Farewell”; the complete work is rarely performed, which makes hearing the whole of it a real occasion.
