Eligibility: Who Can Become an Anderson Scholar? The Anderson Scholars Program is committed to enriching the educational journey of Native, Black, and Latinx students. To be considered for the program, students must be entering the 9th grade. Here are the expectations for interested applicants: ACADEMIC STANDARDS:

Financial Support Tailored to Your Needs The Anderson Scholars Program includes an Access and Equity Fund that covers a wide range of needs, including: • Books. • Computers. • International and local travel. • Special dress attire. • Music lessons. • Monetary stipends. Please note: While admission to the Anderson Scholars is meritbased, the financial aid offered is based solely on your family’s financial standing. Our program offers the largest average financial aid award among 40 schools we benchmark against.

Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher in any of the following subjects, assuming that they are offered: math, English, science, history, and world language. If your child’s school employs non-traditional grading methods, our admission committee will recalculate GPAs based on our rubric. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:

We look for students who are actively involved in extracurricular activities. This may include athletics, the performing arts, clubs, and organizational programs. We also recognize non-traditional commitments that require significant time, such as teaching at Sunday school, caregiving for siblings, or supporting grandparents. CHARACTER AND LEADERSHIP:

Leadership isn’t just about titles. We seek students who display exceptional character and the potential to lead in diverse settings. By meeting these criteria, students are not just eligible to apply for our program — they’re poised to make the most of everything the Anderson Scholars Program has to offer.
