NMEDA is heartbroken to share the news that Andy Ghillyer, our Director of Education & Training and dear friend, passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2020.

Andy had been a member of our team since September 1, 2018. He brought so much to our association: a Ph.D. in Management Studies from the University of Surrey, UK; a wealth of business and training experience; a passion for learning; and, maybe most important to those of us who grew to know him well, an inimitable British wit and charm.

Andy was also an accomplished author. His textbooks, published by McGraw-Hill, included “Business Ethics: A Real World Approach” currently in its 5th edition.

It is a gross understatement to say that Andy will be missed. He had become a true member of the NMEDA family.

For those who have asked about a remembrance, Andy’s wife Sherry has requested that donations be made in his name to the American Stroke Association or to Autism Speaks (please use info@nmeda. org as the eCard recipient email).

Cards and notes for the Ghillyer family can be sent to NMEDA at 3327 West Bearss Ave., Tampa, FL 33618.

Rest in peace, Andy—we’ll raise a pint for ya.
