Tactile & romantic.

Using a film camera is an tactile and more romantic experience that is special because it is a mechanical machine, that works without anything digital. You have to load a roll of film, and then shoot each photo often pushing a lever to advance the film for the next photo.

FILM PHOTO

Boost your creativity.

Many artists, who live very free lives without following a lot of society’s rules, talk about how limitations can boost creativity. It is the same with film photography, which can force you to become more creative and intentional because it is not so easy and quick.

History and tradition.

There is a whole history behind a film photography. Every photograph has been developed through a technical chemical process that requires a lot of skill and knowledge to do well. This artistry behind the photograph results in a unique picture you can hold in your hand and keep forever.

Why Film Photography is Loved Among Creatives?

Film photography is not better or worse than digital, it is just different and requires more of the photographer. You can easily mix the two methods because the technology of digital photography is incredible and we should take advantage of both.

You can use your digital camera when you want quick photos and enjoy the convenience of having a great camera on your phone.

Film photography is best when you have a purpose for your photography. For example, you might walk through the streets of your city and enjoy taking street portraits of the people you see. You can equally well use film for a big photography project where you spend days preparing the perfect photo.

Movie of the century THE GODFATHER

“The Godfather” is a story about a family and its business. Which, for the Corleone family, just happens to be running an organized crime syndicate. The movie that filmgoers, critics and the Oscars couldn’t refuse.

Based on a bestselling book by Mario Puzo, the epic three hours saga took America by storm when it was released 50 years ago. The movie would go on to be a prototype for blockbuster films of today, with starting on the sequel before the first film hit theaters.

Howard Suber, professor emeritus at UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, is not surprised by the continued relevance and success of “The Godfather.” He sees the story of a tight-knit family caught in a life-or-death struggle for power, love and respect as carrying on the tradition of storytelling from Greek tragedy and Shakespeare. “The Godfather resonates today because it follows the path of Western drama for the past 2,500 years,” Suber said.

The film was both a huge commercial and critical winner, earning more money than any other film that year and winning acclaim for acting, directing and music from the Academy Awards, the Grammys and many others. The trilogy of Godfather films has been nominated for a total of 28 Oscars, winning nine. The film’s cultural impact is readily seen by the term “godfather” becoming common language, but that was not always the case. The book notes that “Puzo actually invented the term ‘godfather’ as a term of mobster respect.”

The youngest Corleone (and relatively straitlaced), Michael, turns a thematic corner in the film when he decides to get revenge by killing a rival Mafia member and a police captain at a meeting in a restaurant. The tense scene leads up to Michael shooting them both as the camera follows the killings with an intimate close-up view. The only way to make the violence appear real while filling the entire screen was through careful consideration and planning. Coppola, in the book “The Annotated Godfather” says the killings in the restaurant are ”the biggest scene in the movie, effect-wise.”

The first victim is shot and the camera cuts away very quickly, so the crew was able to make do with a less detailed effect — firing a small wax cylinder filled with fake blood that leaves a visual “hole” on his forehead. But the camera lingers on a tight frame of the second victim, necessitating a more involved approach.

AMovie magic for murder

Putting it all together

ccording to “The Godfather Legacy,” “By the time principal photography was completed, Coppola had shot 500,000 feet of potentially usable footage, or more than ninety hours of material.” The work was a gargantuan task of cutting and splicing for six people, including William Reynolds and Peter Zinner, that resulted in an Academy Award nomination for editing.

Their work navigates the audience through an intricate three-hour film, but is highlighted in the sequences that bookend the movie. The opening shows Don Corleone conducting shady Mafia business in a dark room, visually and thematically in distinct contrast to intercut scenes of his daughter’s wedding as they are dancing, drinking and celebrating in the bright light outside. The conclusion of the film shows Michael becoming godfather to his nephew at a church ceremony. While Michel is renouncing Satan and evil, intercut scenes of his henchmen killing his enemies punctuate his declaration of faith as organ music swells in the background.

MÅNESKIN

8
‘Gossip’ is the latest single to be taken from Måneskin’s recent third album ‘RUSH!’, which came out last week (January 20). “ “

Since the release of the track, the Italian rockers have shared an official video for the song, which sees the group performing in a glass box while people look on in shock, horror and disgust. It doesn’t take long for Måneskin’s energetic and reckless performance to turn them all into fans, though, and thanks to a blistering guitar solo by a security guard (Morello), the video ends with one almighty party.

Of his part in ‘Gossip’, Morello said in a statement: “When I heard that there was a rock and roll band from Italy that was blowing up around the world. They are unapologetically loud, unapologetically sexy, and unapologetically ROCKING and deserve to be one of the standard bearers for rock and roll for a younger generation”. Last week, Måneskin debuted songs from ‘RUSH!’ at an intimate gig in London, while they also celebrated the release of ‘RUSH!’ by getting “married” at a star-studded ceremony by Italian fashion designer Alessandro Michele in Rome. This week also saw them hit back at accusations of “queer-baiting”.

“A world tour will soon commence, including dates at arenas across Europe, where these songs will fight hard for space next to Måneskin’s customary cover renditions – there’s a good chance that some of them might win out.”

Måneskin review – Rush!: Eurovision winners continue to broaden their appeal with an infectious third album “ “

Måneskin have many credits to their name. After winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021, four years after they conquered The X Factor in Italy, the group went on to become the first Italian band to crack the UK Singles Chart. Their pop-rock cover of the Four Seasons oldie “Beggin” has reached more than 1.2 billion streams on Spotify, while “I Wanna Be Your Slave” tops half a billion. Last November, the foursome nabbed their first Grammy nod. But perhaps most impressive in Måneskin’s list of accomplishments is the fact they’re teaching millions how to pronounce the Scandinavian letter.

Across one EP, two albums and a string of riotously fun performances – replete in latex, black glitter nail polish and assless chaps – Måneskin have helped restore glam rock to its former glory. Lead singer Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi and drummer Ethan Torchio take their cues, both musical and aesthetic, from David Bowie and Freddie Mercury. So far, their approach has worked a treat. In two short years, Måneskin have found their place on the world stage – and from the sound of their third record Rush!, they’re making themselves at home.

In a first for the band, the majority of Rush! is in English, with only three tracks performed in their native language. It’s a move that may raise eyebrows among their day one fans, but one that will undoubtedly fulfil its purpose of achieving mass appeal. Odds are at least one of the 17 tracks will go viral on TikTok in the coming weeks; the involvement of pop powerhouse producer Max Martin all but guarantees it.

10

An Italian music critic once compared Måneskin to the Energizer Bunny and the analogy holds up on Rush!, which does not so much move through its tracks as it does bounce and bound. The riffs come thick and fast on album opener “Own My Mind” and the energy remains high throughout. Soon after, Tom Morello lends a guitar cameo to the cocksure strut of “Gossip”, a track that has little in common with Rage Against the Machine but is a good time, regardless.

Sleazy basslines and a relentless drumbeat help deliver on the swagger and showmanship Måneskin have become known for. The bombastic, anti-Putin anthem “Gasoline” exemplifies that. Less expected is the liberating silliness that comes across in shouty choruses and wry digs at dissenters. The deadpan schtick doesn’t always work, though. The juvenile sneering of “Bla Bla Bla” invites its own sneers, for example. “I hate your face but / I like your mums,” taunts David on a bass.

What is a coffee tasting? Much like wine tasting, coffee tasting is about the simple joy of expanding your palate by exploring new flavors. Hosting your own coffee tasting party with friends is an excellent way to try something different, refine your tastes and maybe even discover your new favorite blend.

All respectable coffee companies have their own professional tasters. It’s the only way to guarantee quality and consistency. And we need highly trained tasters because coffee has so many complex tastes and smells.

It takes years of practice and experience to identify and judge a coffee’s different flavours and smells. These days, professional coffee tasters are so well trained that they will all agree very closely on the exact characteristics of any coffee they taste.

Many experts in the coffeetasting profession use a book called the Sensory Lexicon. It’s a bit like an insider’s guide to the strength of the different flavours in coffee. It lists more than 100 different flavours.

Coffee tasters use the Sensory Lexicon to help them judge the subtle differences between coffees. Perhaps the type of soil the tree was planted in has made a difference. Or maybe the way it was watered and fed. Even the type of bags the beans have been stored in could change that final flavour.

WHAT IS A COFFEE TASTING?

HOSTING A COFFEE TASTING

Professional coffee tasters have to pass lots of exams and practical tests. Even then, it takes many years’ experience to become a respected, professional taster. Let’s go behind the scenes, into the inside world of coffee tasting.

After the harvest

After harvesting, coffee cherries go through milling. This gets rid of the outer fruit as well as the parchment-like skin around the bean. The end result is called green coffee, and qualitycontrol at this stage is vital. Our experts work closely with coffee suppliers in all countries of origin. There are professional tasting teams in every plant worldwide. Satisfying their expert taste-buds is just the last of many quality tests that help guarantee the fresh, delicious taste of every mug

Before the coffee is shipped

Through a network of six specialist coffee quality-control centres around the world, we work closely with all our coffee suppliers. Together, we make sure the coffee has been stored and handled to high standards of hygiene. We also help coffee suppliers to work with the latest food safety measures. Finally, these specialist quality-control centres have professional tasters who thoroughly test the quality of our coffee before it is even shipped.

This November, NONÊ will be writing a new chapter: the chapter of the origin, of the empathy in the inner world of each person.

NONE - NO NÊ Exhibition “

A JOURNEY POWERED BY MUSIC, ART, CULTURE AND LOVE

The Look Within Exhibition is an event in the NONÊ project series, showcasing works by artist Suboi in collaboration with domestic and foreign independent artists and directors throughout the journey of developing a music career for years. The works reflect on reality, perception and vision. Above the intricately structured and thought-provoking circuits are meticulously refined forms. They seem to expand the static space where the subconscious and the intellect intersect.

Cultivate the seeds of creativity to cultivate a strong structure. Endurance, the invisible iteration of the ephemeral concept. NO NÊ is also NO/NONE, marking the moment of awareness of not-self, impermanence and the journey back to oneself.

The works in the album NONÊ will no longer be encapsulated in the form of “music”, instead, it will be a party of light, temperature, sound, scent and resonance to honor the true beauty of people, to write a Look Within Journey.

14

The Look Within Exhibition will be open from November 17 to November 22 at the Museum of Fine Arts in Ho Chi Minh City.

Exhibition Information:

•More information: www.suboinone.com

•Open to welcome visitors from November 17, 2022 - November 22, 2022
