Hello Halla East community,
My name is Ms Lindsay Lee, and I am excited to be stepping into the role of Boarding Mistress of Halla East fromAugust 2025, having previously served asABM of Halla East. I also bring prior experience as a Boarding Mistress from 2019 to 2021 in one of our senior school boarding homes. It's a privilege to return to this role and continue supporting our Halla East boarders in this new capacity, and I'm looking forward to working closely with students, families, and staff to continue to foster an inclusive and collaborative environment.
My vision is to foster strong connections between staff and boarders, ensuring that every student feels a sense of belonging and support. We are especially focused on helping our incomingYear 11 students as they begin their IB journey, whilst continuing to guide ourYear 13s as they complete the IB programme and prepare for university.
I am also pleased to introduce the fantastic team supporting Halla East next year. Ms Evangeline Grant, an English teacher, joins us asABM, along with Ms Sunghyun Shin, who continues in herABM role and who will be involved in both Geography and Environmental Systems and Societies. Ms Frances Brown returns as a graduate assistant and will be starting her PGCEi in Chemistry, while we warmly welcome MsAbigail Gokavi, a new graduate assistant who will be supporting the Psychology department.Together, we look forward to a positive and purposeful year ahead in Halla East.

Hello!IamMs.EvangelineGrant.IwasbornandraisedinLondonbut myfamilyoriginatesfromJamaica(asmallCaribbeanisland).I studiedEnglishLanguageattheUniversityofManchesterbefore beginningmygraduateteachertraining.
IhavebeenteachingEnglishatNLCSJejusince2023,whenourfamily movedfromKenya.IhavealsohadthepleasureofteachingintheU.K. andHongKong.
Ourfamily,whosemostnotablemembersareZion:ourfunnyand spiritedlittleboyandZora:oursweetandgigglybabygirl,loveto explore,travel,eatanddance.
