Hyeopjae has been more than just a place to sleep. Instead, it was a place that allowed wonderful brothers, friends and teachers to dissolve into my life as an integral part of it; and I am truly honoured to describe these people as my "Family".

The home committee is composed of student-elected leaders from each year group led by myself, the home captain. Our goal is simple yet effective: our brothers' physical and emotional well-being. We don't just identify issues; we actively devise solutions for our shared challenges. The weekly Home Committee meeting, led by Mr Cronin, is met with brilliant ideas from the committee members. Our commitment is unwavering as we strive to enhance our second home. Looking ahead, we are eager to create enduring memories, strengthening our bond as a close-knit family through various engaging activities.

Hyeopjae is a one of three male Senior Boarding Homes which provides a home to our Year 5 and 6 Junior boarders along with boarders who are from Year 7 to Year 11.

Our Motto: “ A Home Away from Home - Growing Stronger Together” Named after Hyeopjae Beach in Jeju, the philosophy and ethos of the home has been shaped by: - Being good friends - Developing good independent study habits - Being organised and independent Hyeopjae boys are: -

Empathetic, open minded, kind and caring Motivated, determined and resilient Confident, good communicators, and leaders

Hyeopjae Grads Hyeopjae October 2023

Andrew This year is Andrew's second year as a graduate assistant at Hyeopjae Boarding Home. He completed his studies at NLCS JEJU in 2015 and later graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design, where he pursued a degree in Illustration. Prior to and following his military service, he worked as a Gap assistant on two occasions, in 2016 and 2019. These experiences significantly contributed to his ability to connect with students and foster empathy.

At present, Andrew is Studying an Art iPGCE qualification. You'll frequently find him in the art department.

Dominic This year is Dominicʼs second at Hyeopjae Boarding Home. During the school week, you will find him working in the Marketing department.

He graduated from the University of the Arts London, studying Graphic Design. In his free time, he enjoys photography, films, and playing badminton. He also enjoys music and playing guitar. Dominic is glad to be back, and looking forward to the next year at NLCS Jeju.

Charlie Charlie has recently arrived at NLCS Jeju as our third and final Hyeopjae Grad. He attended the school as a student (2013), returned as a Gap Assistant (2018) and now returns for a third time as a Grad (2023).

Charlie is a Sports Coaching and PE graduate of Marjon University in the United Kingdom and is an avid sports fanatic. He has played and coached a number of sports at a high level with a distinct passion for football.

Outside of sport, Charlie enjoys music, film and travelling. He is incredibly excited to be back at NLCS Jeju and be a part of the Hyeopjae family.
