Dear all, It has been a long first term, but a successful one! The new and old Hyeopjae boarders bounded well and new friends were made. Our year 6 boys have settled, and are fully embracing the boarding life. Many stories can be shared through our trips, activities and time spent together.

A long term has passed and here come a well deserve break for all! On our return, our year 11 will be focussing on their mock exams. All the best to them!

For now, the Hyeopjae team wishes you all a good and restful winter break!

Life in Boarding Hyeopjae December 2023

If there is one word that I would use to depict the boarding environment it would be effervescent, and if you ask me why this word, well… it is hard to say to be honest, maybe it is because of the constant laughter of others in the mornings. I was honestly taken back when I first arrived at how enthusiastic and sanguine all the staff and classmates were, after all, it must have taken some serious mental capability for them to help me with my maths homework just to point out that I used -2 instead of 2, the inclusivity of the boarding environment is truly welcoming, I always feel like I belong here. All of the friends I have here are idiosyncratic and in a good way, and the boarding staff always seems to be optimistic and supportive. Hyeopjae is truly “a home away from home” for me.

Even in the future when we do decide to leave and continue our path without one another, those memories that we do share will always be ephemeral.

Tapdong Trip Hyeopjae December 2023

At tapdong, I had a plan with me because I did some research. My plan was to first go to the underground market to buy chicken, then go to emart and buy a lot of ramen then come to the shopping street and buy some stuff. But the food market was all closed. At the shopping street we went to art box and bought the present for the secret santa. Then we just went to the claw machine and then we decided to eat topokki at a stall. Then we went to registration, we drank some beverages and then we went back home. Even if my research did nothing we still had a good time.
