The first day, or to be exact, a day before the beginning of the 25-26 academic year, was chaotic yet memorable. Almost twice as many students came to this house compared to last year,somenewfacesandalotoffamiliarones.
Afterrestlessunpackingandrecklesschatter,I recalled my past 3 years in Aewol. From a studentinyear8whowaskeentohelpothers likeBrianunpack,bothnervousandexcitedfor the new environment, I was now one of the leadersinthishouse,facingmylastyearinthis beloved house.
Moments in Aewol will always be one of my most cherished memories, filled with tangled and complex emotions that I cannot possibly expresswithwords.

Beachday(August30th)
W2: Hyeopjae beach
On August 30th, we all went together to Hyeopjae Beach with our friends. It was the first trip after we came back to Aewol and school. We enjoyed a beef barbecue, sweet drinks,andlotsofotherdelicioussidedishes. After our meal, lots of the students went into the water and enjoyed the refreshing surf. By theendoftheday,wewereallwet,coveredin sand, and exhausted. The Aewol staff bought us ice cream. Lots of students, including us, bought a ball and played beach volleyball. Luckily, it rained when we finished our beach day,andlotsofpeoplegotwetfromtherain.It wasthebestbeachdaywithmyfriends.

WehadourfirstBBQnighton6thSeptembertogreetournew students. Year 11s were cooking meat for younger students, showingteamworkwhilehavingfun,laughingwitheachother.
To be honest, while we were cooking, it was very chaotic. We weredroppingsomemeat,shoutingateachother,lookingfor more kitchen towels, and trying to cook as fast as possible. It wasbothtiringandfunatthesametime.Thatmemorywasthe typeofmemorythatcanonlybemadeinaboardinghouse,a memory of using teamwork to achieve goals, helping each otherwhilewearingabigsmileonourfaces.AftertheBBQ,we had a watermelon hwachae and ended our BBQ night with refreshingwatermelonsoda.SinceIjoinedAewolwhenIwasin year 8 ,these memories were one of my best moments that alwayshelpedmetoenjoymyschoollife,whichiswhymygoal for this year is to give other students moments that I had so theycouldrememberAewolastheirhappiestmomentsintheir schoollife,justlikeme.

Barbecue evening/night
I have always loved barbecue night, and this onewasnodifferent.Apartfromthemeatyou can consume, cooking with my cohort and bonding with them over a certain task was entertaining. Also, I was able to spend some time with Mr. Lee as well. Though it was hard work, I was able to fill up my stomach with meat and had a great time with Mr. Killeen. I spent 2 hours cooking meat with Mr. Lee, and washed the dishes for another hour. The laughter, teamwork, and shared effort made the night feel more meaningful than just a simple meal. Itʼs definitely a memory Iʼll carry withmeforalongtime.

On Saturday night, the 6th of September, the Aewol community had a chance to freelysingasateamfortheKaraokenight.
Right after the BBQ party, the students who wanted to sing all gathered around the atrium and sang different kinds of songs together. It was a really special day as it was the first time using the new karaoke machine, thanks to Mr.Crebier orderingit.Ireallyenjoyeditasitactually feltlikebeingoutplayinginkaraoke,andit broughteveryoneclosertogetherthrough laughter, music, and fun memories. Y10s really enjoyed themselves and additionally, Mr.Leeʼs singing was absolutelyamazing^^

On Saturday, the 20th of September, Mr. Löser and Incirli planned and hosted a quiz evening.
Students were divided into mixed year group teams and subjected to a number of general knowledge rounds. Students grappled with questions relating to mapwork, current affairs, history, English, football, music, and trivia questionsrelatingtomembersoftheAewolstaff team.
Fuelled by an assortment of crisps, popcorn, candy, and fizzy drinks, the students ploughed through the rounds and impressed the teachers with their general knowledge. It was a fantastic evening which was categorised by teamwork, enthusiasm,andgoodhumour.

Watchingasportsmatchwithmy friends(Sep21st)
Afewweeksago,myfriendsandIwere abletowatchasportsmatchontheTV onthefirstfloor.Studentswhowanted towatchthesportsmatchallgathered aroundonthesofa,andwewatcheda match between Liverpool FC and Everton FC. Also, we watched an F1 race. It was a great opportunity to communicate with the other year groupstudentsandhavefuntogether. Itwasaveryengagingactivitytomake everyonegetclosetoeachother.Istill canʼt forget that activity, and it was a veryimpressivenight.
