Although perhaps, this year’s lockdown spring might in the end turn out to have been substantially calmer than the dogged days of Belgian summer.

So, whatever may come this autumn, the next few weeks we all might actually get some reprieve from the antics of Place Lux & Schuman. Many conundrums await on our return, from Brexit to actually turning Next Generation EU into reality. But before then, many miles lie between here and home or holiday. So enjoy. Get some rest and may the next pages offer relief when the backseat nagging just becomes too much.

So here’s to the tired ones. The diplomats.

The journalists. The policy hacks. To those that tirelessly try to fit round pegs in the square holes that make up EU decision making.
