U.S. SENATE
The United States President is both the head of state and head of government of the U.S., and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. Under Article II of the Constitution, the President is responsible for the execution and enforcement of the laws created by Congress. The Vice President of the U.S. is the second-highest officer in the executive branch and ranks first in the presidential line of succession.
KY has two U.S. Senators representing its citizens in Washington, D.C., each serving a six-year term. The job of a senator is to act on behalf of the American people in legislative sessions to ensure the voice of the common citizen is heard.
