Tonight, we celebrate the achievements of the past year, look ahead to what is next, and honor individuals and organizations that are helping lead Northern Kentucky forward. What makes our NKY Chamber so special is the active voice of our members. From supporting the next generation of leaders through NKYP and hosting sold out Women’s Initiative events, to developing community leaders through Leadership Northern Kentucky and introducing DisruptHR NKY, we have continued to create opportunities for people to connect, lead and grow. Combined with our move to the OneNKY Center, the kickoff of the LaunchNKY Center for Civic Leadership, and our trip to Washington, D.C., this has been a year of tremendous momentum for our Chamber and our region. TONIGHT’S EMCEE Kyle Inskeep joined the Local 12 News team in June 2018. He anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts with Paula Toti. Prior to moving to Cincinnati, Kyle worked as a morning reporter/fill-in anchor for FOX59 in Indianapolis for three years. While there he covered the 2017 Presidential Inauguration, the 100th running of the Indy 500 and the sentencing of former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle. During his first year out of college, Kyle worked for NBC News in Washington, D.C. He was selected as the 2012 Tim Russert Fellow. As part of this program, Kyle worked as a researcher for the network’s “political unit,” assisted correspondents and field producers and worked alongside the Meet The Press digital team. Kyle graduated magna cum laude from Butler University with a degree in Electronic Journalism. He was on campus for both of the historic Final Four runs the Bulldogs made in 2010 and 2011. Born and raised in the Hoosier state, Kyle is thrilled to be living in Cincinnati!

Presented by BE NKY Growth Partnership, the Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III Northern Kentucky Economic Development Award is presented annually to an individual, entity, company or organization demonstrating significant advancement of economic development efforts in Northern Kentucky. This year’s honoree is Rhonda Whitaker Hurtt, retired, vice president, community relations & local government affairs, Duke Energy Ohio & Kentucky. Rhonda retired from Duke Energy in 2025 following a more than 33-year career with the Fortune 150 industry leader. As vice president of community relations & local government affairs, she spent five years overseeing Duke Energy Ohio & Kentucky’s Economic Development division. She and her team collaborated with BE NKY Growth Partnership, REDI Cincinnati and other state and local economic development officials to drive projects that created thousands of jobs and generated billions of dollars in capital investment across the region. Locally, she also oversaw Duke Energy’s Site Readiness program, which evaluates and prepares high-potential industrial sites to attract major corporate investments. Rhonda established the Duke Energy Urban Revitalization Initiative in 2011, which has awarded $3.5 million in catalytic grants to spur redevelopment in urban cores across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. During her tenure as NKY Chamber Board Chair in 2017-2018, she spearheaded the launch of GROW NKY, a comprehensive workforce and talent strategy initiative for high-demand sectors that evolved into NKY Works, where she continues to serve on the Executive Committee and Advisory Council. Rhonda served on the boards for BE NKY Growth Partnership, the NKY Chamber, the Catalytic Fund, Workforce Investment boards for Northern Kentucky and Southwest Ohio, REDI Cincinnati, NKU Foundation, Covington Business Council, ArtsWave, Leadership Kentucky and others. She served as chair of the Tri-ED Foundation and became the first woman in 50 years to chair the NKY United Way Campaign in 2011, raising more than $4 million. She has received the Covington Business Council’s Founders Award, the NKY Education Council’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the Women’s Initiative’s Outstanding Women of NKY Award, United Way’s “Strengthening Our Region” Leader Award, Business Courier’s “Women Who Mean Business” Award, the NKY Chamber’s Walter L. THE NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNITY AWARD OKI REGIONAL COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS The Northern Kentucky Unity Award
The Northern Kentucky Unity Award, sponsored by PNC Bank, is presented to an individual, organization or company that has shown exemplary leadership in bringing Northern Kentuckians together to address and solve common challenges and issues facing them and their communities. This year’s honoree is the Ohio-KentuckyIndiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI). As the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the region, OKI represents more than two million residents across eight counties and three states. OKI aligns and collaborates with local governments, businesses, community groups and the public to create an efficient multimodal transportation system and improve the economic vitality of the Tri-State area. OKI’s 120-person Board of Directors brings together leaders from Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties alongside their peers in Southwestern Ohio and Southeastern Indiana and has invested $1.3 billion in the region in the past two decades. Most remarkably, every dollar was approved by the OKI Board by unanimous vote. OKI has long served as a central convener and planning catalyst for the region’s vital corridors, most notably helping advance the multi-billion-dollar Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project to ensure safe mobility and seamless commerce. OKI consistently directs federal funding into Northern Kentucky communities each year, supporting roadway safety improvements, expanded multi-use trails and modernized transit options. Through water quality management, land use planning and advanced data modeling, OKI equips local leaders with the tools needed to navigate growth while preserving the natural environment. Since 2004, the agency has invested $212.2 million in Northern Kentucky infrastructure. This includes $40 million to enhance road capacity, traffic safety and pedestrian access at CVG - a cornerstone of the region’s economic growth, and significant fleet upgrades for the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK). And while not a specific Northern Kentucky project, OKI has committed $26 million to advancing the Western Hills Viaduct replacement – an essential cross river connection heavily used by Northern Kentuckians.

THE WALTER L. PIESCHEL (MVP) AWARD DAVE SCHROEDER The Walter L. Pieschel (MVP) Award
The Walter L. Pieschel (MVP) Award, sponsored by Heritage Bank, is named in memory of the NKY Chamber’s first volunteer leader and recognizes an individual member who has provided outstanding volunteer service to the NKY Chamber as a committee member, committee chair or in any other special capacity during the past 12 months. This year’s honoree is Dave Schroeder, retired, executive director, Kenton County Public Library. Dave is a native of Kenton County and served as the executive director of the nationally-ranked Kenton County Public Library from 2007 until his retirement in the summer of 2026. He began his career as a shelver at the library before working in the Local History Department indexing historic newspapers. He held the position of Archivist for Thomas More University and the Diocese of Covington from 1996 to 2000 and returned to the library in 2000 as the Kentucky History Librarian. Under Dave’s tenure, the library completely renovated and expanded the Covington branch, expanded the Erlanger branch, constructed a new Administration Center, established a new branch in the Latonia neighborhood of Covington and launched a nationally recognized workforce development program. Dave serves as president of the Board of the Friends of the Kentucky Public Archives, is a member of the University of Kentucky Libraries National Advisory Board and is on the Executive Committee of Kids Voting Northern Kentucky. A graduate of the NKY Chamber’s Leadership Northern Kentucky Class of 2008, Dave continues to invest deeply in the NKY Chamber’s mission and serves on the Leadership Council and is involved with the annual Alumni Award Luncheon. He previously received the NKY Community Award in 2022 and the Ruth A. Eger Leader of Distinction Award in 2019 from the NKY Chamber.

HORIZON AWARD JASON AND AMY JACKMAN The Horizon Award
The Horizon Award, presented by Horizon Community Foundation of Northern Kentucky, recognizes the extraordinary contributions of individuals who exemplify dedication, integrity, and honorable service to Northern Kentucky through community leadership. This year’s honorees are Jason and Amy Jackman. Jason is the CEO of Johnson Investment Counsel and has been with the firm for 33 years. He gained an early passion for community involvement in Northern Kentucky and has served board terms with The Carnegie, Central Clinic, St. Vincent de Paul Charitable Pharmacy, Greater Cincinnati Fund/Northern Kentucky Fund Advisory Board and Vision 2015. He is currently Treasurer for the Cincinnati Regional Business Committee, Board of Trustees and Investment Committee Chair for St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Executive Committee and Investment Committee Chair for the Cincinnati Opera, among other board roles with Northern Kentucky University Foundation and YPO Gold. Jason was a member of Leadership Cincinnati Class XXVII, was named to the Business Courier’s Forty Under 40 list in 2006 and received a NKYP Next Generation Leader Award in 2010. He also received the Legacy Legend Award in 2008 and has been on the list of People To Know In Banking and Finance by the Business Courier since 2015. Amy is a former Quality Control Chemist for Marion Merrill Dow and Watson Pharmaceuticals who channels her passion for wellness and service into community impact. This includes 12 years with the Ida Spence Mission serving City Heights and Latonia Terrace and educating patients on culinary nutrition at the St. Elizabeth Cancer Center. She spent five years as part of the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati program. Amy also advocates for alternative treatments for prevention and medicine and has served on international mission trips to Haiti, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Closer to home, she is known for helping people navigating financial, healthcare, and personal hardship. Married for 30 years with three grown sons, Jason and Amy support scholarships at Northern Kentucky University for low income and first generation students, support refugees through LeSEA Global Feed The Hungry and created the Jackman Family Fund at the Horizon Community Foundation. 38

WALTER R. DUNLEVY/FRONTIERSMAN AWARD JUDGE/EXECUTIVE STEVE PENDERY The Walter R. Dunlevy/Frontiersman Award
Established in 1968, the Walter R. Dunlevy/ Frontiersman Award, sponsored by Northern Kentucky University and NKU Foundation, recognizes an individual who has a lifelong history of outstanding service to the Northern Kentucky community, exhibits outstanding service to their profession or industry, and exemplifies the highest standards of personal integrity and family responsibility. This year’s honoree is Campbell County Judge/Executive Steve Pendery. A lifelong resident of Fort Thomas, Judge Pendery’s dedication to public service began in his hometown, where he served 15 years as mayor and councilman before being elected Campbell County Judge/Executive – a role he has held for 28 years. A graduate of Highlands High School, Pendery earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Denison University and a law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law. In addition to his distinguished public service, Judge Pendery co-owned his family’s local small business, Pendery Insurance and Risk Management Group, for many years. His experience in public service, law, and local business reflects his longstanding commitment to Campbell County and the Northern Kentucky region. Judge Pendery’s impact extends into his extensive board and civic service. He serves on the boards of the BE NKY Growth Partnership, the Ohio-KentuckyIndiana Regional Council of Governments and the Northern Kentucky University Foundation. He is also a member of the Campbell Leadership Action Group, the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Bar Association. Judge Pendery lives in Fort Thomas with his wife, Dana. Their son, Chase, is a pilot for American Airlines, and their daughter, Allie, is an internal medicine physician with St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
