Eye Spy: Joey McIntyre Now that the New Kids on the Block have completed their latest tour, Joey McIntyre is taking some time off to care for his home. The blue eyed boy was spotted shopping at the gardening center at Home Depot in Hollywood, California yesterday. Joey and his wife who married in 2003 announced in April they are expecting baby #2, a boy later this year

What’s Your Guilty Pleasure? “Nick Lachey was in 98 Degrees and Justin Timberlake is from N*Sync, not New Kids on the Block!” I yelled at my fellow librarians. I could not believe that they didn’t know the difference between the inferior boy bands to the supreme New Kids on the Block. I had tickets to see the reunited boys from Boston, a.k.a. NKOTB, and my coworkers could not stop making fun of me. I couldn’t really blame them. My husband, sister, and pretty much every friend I had couldn’t contain their laughter when I gushed about my tickets. I was a rocker girl. I went to see bands like Metallica, Pearl Jam, and Stone Temple Pilots, and would complain when they played their slow ballads. They just didn’t understand. Since I first saw the five New Kids croon, “Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,” I was in love. Their tattered jackets, ripped jeans, and rat tail haircuts encapsulated the times. At least the times I lived in! When I announced to my class that my family was moving out of Atlantic City and to Suburbia, Connecticut, Gilberto Lopez sang “Please Don’t Go Girl” to me. “How could you leave when we we’re almost to the hand‐holding phase of our relationship?” he shouted in angst. In Suburbia, nobody listened to New Kids on the Block, nobody owned a topless top hat, and nobody had rat tail haircut. I cut my rat tail off and sacrificed it. I vowed to listen to only metal from that day forward. I suppressed my feelings for Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, and Donnie Wahlberg…until the night of the concert. Then I found myself belting out “Please Don’t Go Girl” at the top of my lungs, along with 40,000 other women. I wondered if they were thinking of someone special, too. I know I’m not the only one out there who has a guilty pleasure. Which category does yours fit into? Pop Music: Do you sing along to boy bands (or girl bands)? Even, the “inferior” ones? Of course, I recommend the Greatest Hits of New Kids on the Block (CD DANCE NEW). Listen to see if you’re Jordan’s “Favorite Girl” or Donnie’s “Cover Girl.” If NKOTB isn’t modern enough for you, give a listen to NSync (CD DANCE NSY). Before Justin Timberlake broke out on his own, he was crooning to choreographed hits such as “It’s Gonna Be Me” and “Bye Bye Bye” with his NKOTB look‐a‐like band. Britney Spears (CD DANCE SPE) will surely spice up your day. I know you know the lyrics to at least one song from one of these albums. Don’t even try to deny it! And, if you hate reality TV as much as I do, I hope you were as disgusted as I was when you heard about KISS taking the stage at American Idol’s finale. I have personally demoted KISS from rock gods to pop stars after that stunt. Listening to hits from Alive! (CD ROCK KIS) sounds like pop compared to today’s rocks hits anyhow!
Teeney Bopper Fun: Do you get sucked into teenage drama? Try the Gilmore Girls (YA DVD GIL). This mother and daughter team have a sweet relationship, and speak to each other in speedy, witty dialogue. See if you can keep up with their sometimes obscure pop culture references. My husband tried to resist the Gilmores, but he got sucked right in! He watched along with me as Rory graduated high school and went off to college.
Reality Craze: If you enjoy watching other people, try some of these. They’re way better than The Bachelorette and Dancing with the Stars! The Truman Show (DVD DRAMA TRU) is from the pre‐ reality TV boom era, and it documents the life of Truman, played by Jim Carrey. He doesn’t know that his every move is being televised for the whole world to see. Everything around him is manipulated by writers and editors: his boss’ requests, his relationships, even the weather! If only we could blame writers when something goes wrong in our life. My personal favorite is People magazine. My life seems like I won the lottery when I look to the stars! If you’re feeling a bit more cerebral, try Nancy Day’s Sensational TV: Trash or Journalism? (YA 791.456 DAY). Day discusses the now fine line between news and entertainment. She even includes ten steps to becoming a critical viewer, in case you’ve been spending too much time watching the E! Network! The Dark Side: Is your form of a guilty pleasure more embarrassing to admit to? Maybe you think Eminem’s (CD DANCE/RAP EMI) lyrics are actually witty. Or maybe you check out Danielle Steele’s (LP FIC STE) books “for your grandma.”
Jon’s end of tour thoughts How does one sum up all that they have been through for the past fifteen months in one little blog? I have been racking my brain this past week writing and re‐writing, trying to best express my feelings. I tend to want to tell so much and end up with pages and pages of rambling thoughts in an order that only I would be able to decipher. I would love to sit down with a writer to help enable me to focus all my thoughts and stories to share. This will have to suffice for now! Enjoy! It has been a monumental past year. We went into this not knowing what the outcome would be, and learned it exceeded all expectations! I personally went into this with trepidations, anxieties, and self doubt. The decision to return to something I left so many years ago was one that was not to be taken lightly. I had so many questions going through my mind. I obsessed to death all the things that would happen to me, and how I would handle this reunion. The day I drove to the studio to meet up with the guys had to be one of the longest drives in history for me, I was beyond nervous. After meeting up with everyone and spending some quality time together I realized not much had changed between us. It was at that moment I knew I had made the right choice. The journey ahead was official. There was no stopping the momentum. There was so much work ahead for all, and would require lots of time and energy. I flew out to Los Angeles with Jordan and stayed at Donnie’s house. I figured it would be a quick trip but ended up not really coming home until now. Our time there was the perfect opportunity for us all to begin reconnecting. I hadn’t really kept in touch with anyone over the years, Donnie being the one I had lost all contact with. It was a whole new world for me, all over again. Long days rehearsing, and being coop’ed up in doors. These things had become very foreign to me. There were plenty of times I would ask myself “What am I doing”? If I hadn’t had the reassurance and support of the guys to keep me going, I don’t know what the outcome would have been today. We had all been through this before and knew amongst each other the feelings we were all feeling! The pressures, and the want to be the absolute best we could be! For me the pressure was ten fold. I hadn’t been on a stage or in front of an audience since the early nineties! “Could I really pull this off”? I would ask myself over and over?” As time passed very quickly, I slowly gave into it all and found I was enjoying myself.
After we had pretty much everything in order we headed overseas. We had such a great time in Europe doing promotion for the album and the tour. The days were extremely long. We did so many visits to radio and television stations in so many countries. It was an amazing way to be able to see the sights long the way and to meet so many interesting people. Filming the cameo for the movie was even more amazing. I had never been on a movie set, and to be on one in an old castle was truly incredible! This was where we came up with the name for the album, sitting around a table in that very castl . Returning from Europe It had been almost one year since talks began about putting this reunion together. We were ready to take the show on the road, and were now on our way to Toronto to begin the last week of full rehearsal. My head was still spinning, knowing we were about to perform our first show, and in realization of how far this had progressed! I had been to so many concerts after my NK’s days, and always left with them with an empty feeling in my heart! Something deep inside me really missed it all, and now it was reality. I had many sleepless nights that week in Toronto, as I’m sure we all did. Walking into the venue and seeing our stage for the first time was so surreal! It was a sight to behold. A trophy for all the work, the sore muscles, the absence of home, the longing for family, and the dedication of all that had worked so hard to put it all together! Opening night had finally arrived. I was thankful to have my family and loved ones come to give me comfort and support. It was the most amazing yet fearful day I have had in a while. This was now going to be my life. A life the total opposite of where I had been the last many years. “Go for house lights, go for house lights, go for house lights”………. this is the first thing we hear at the start of every show. House lights dim and we scurried into position to be hoisted up on the stage, all together again. The lift slowly rose as we gazed upon a sea of flashbulbs, and the excitement of thousands of dedicated fans from around the world. There are no words to describe that moment. It was a feeling that found its way deep into my soul and brought the most euphoric feeling into my heart! I thank you all for that truly magical moment. It will be with me forever! As the end of the year is fast approaching I look back at many things. I have a new found respect for my partners in crime and a realization that if you put your mind to something, fear will not get the best of you. Fear can stifle you, but it doesn’t have to hold you down completely. I am blessed to have lived so many moments and experiences. I am blessed to have been able to see the world again. Most importantly, I am blessed to have all of you back in my life!
The journey has only just begun. I wish us all an incredible trip………….. Love and respect, Jon

of the acts performing at the Virgin Festival in Montreal this summer was, JabbaWockeeZ, an all male, California based dance troupe who became the inaugural winners of the MTV hip‐hop dance competition known as America’s Best Dance Crew, back in March of 2008. Remembered for their intricate synchronization and precise dances, performed while masked and gloved, these ten guys have made quite a career for themselves out of their craft.
JABBAWOCKEEZ: On America’s Best Dance Crew they were really able to capture what we really do. It was also the challenges that we rose to. Cause we would never have danced to Blondie before that‐ who locks to Blondie. It was pretty dope for us to rise to the occasions
because it taught us that we can do anything. We can take any concept and make it us. Dancers have an ear for much and they can physically articulate the music. And now we can do [any type of music]. We can do the New Kids and we can take that and do something pleasing to the crowd. That’s what’s great about that show. They were able to see the talent that was there before and they were able to spark in us the realization of what we are capable of doing and going beyond. Also, we did America’s Got Talent a while ago. So before we did America’s Best Dance Crew we were able to sharpen our skills even more so. CONFRONT: You mentioned that you are now on tour with the New Kids on the Block. Can you tell me a little about how that relationship came about and how you ended up on this tour with New Kids and Jesse McCartney? JABBAWOCKEEZ: We attended an Interscope party and there we met Jordan [Knight] and we’d seen their first performance at the Rockerfeller Center that we had also performed at. We texted him saying that it was good that they were on stage again and we just kind of kept in touch here and there for about a year and then they reached out and asked us to go on tour with them. They are great guys so it’s nice to be on tour with them. Nobody is trying to have any egos and crack jokes all the time. (...)

Girl Gone Celebrity? Good Afternoon Friends! So for those of you who follow Girl Gone Healthy on Twitter and ) already know the AMAZINGLY Facebook (which you all should be awesome news I’m about to share! Drum roll puh‐lease…… dodododododododododdudududududududududud (like my drum roll?)….Girl Gone Healthy is officially being followed by an world wide Pop PHENOMENON! Girls all over the world have been screaming his name since the early 90’s, sleeping with pillow cases adorned with his face, checking the time on hot pink flip watches with his picture on it (and yes I DID have that hot pink watch LOL)….ladies any idea who I am talking about?! None other than the ORIGINAL boy band front man….JORDAN KNIGHT!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH that’s what I did last night when I found out! For those of you who are like me and want to know EVERYTHING the next paragraph will be full details! For those of you who are good with just knowing that hottie JKnight is following GGH on Twitter, scroll down to where you see breakfast LOL. DETAILS!!!!! EEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!!! So yesterday was another super long emotional day. I have received some really upsetting news in regards to a few partner projects with
GGH and I was really second guessing as to whether anyone really gave a crap about what Tera from Cranston, RI was doing and eating all day. I absolutely LOVE doing this and speaking to people about it, but sometimes you get to a point where you’re doing so much and it seems like you’re just not getting back what you give. In a very melancholy fashion I opened up my GGH email and saw that I had 57 new messages, whoa! The second message in was the following: Subject: Jordan Knight is now following you on Twitter! From: “Twitter” Date: Wed, August 19, 2009 9:19 am To: firstname.lastname@example.org I started gasping for air and my eyes filled with tears and Hangin’ Tough started playing in my head and I was just like pointing at the screen going “Oh My God Oh My God”! Ryan was like what the hell is going on….so I showed him and he smiled. He knew what a big deal this was to me especially now. I usually share everything with Ryan but I have been keeping my GGH stress to myself due to everything that’s going on with my Father In Law. But despite everything Ryan knew that I had my fire back! Sometimes the Good Lord just gives you something right when you need it to let you know that what you’re doing is good and that helping others is what it’s about, bottom line. So, back to hottie Mcknight Pants……after I cried and jumped up and down on the bed, literally yes true story, I calmed down and tried to piece together how in the H‐E‐ double hockey sticks Jordan Knight found lil ol’ me. I emailed my wonderful crew at Fit World and turns out the management team is really close to him and they shared my site with him he liked it and BAM following me on Twitter! A big Thank you to Fit World for this! If you want to follow Jordan on Twitter follow this link: twitter.com/jordanknight (and now for a little Jordan Knight picture montage…enjoy)

Donnie Wahlberg to celebrate twice In other Wahlberg news, Mark’s brother Donnie has given us the early word that he’ll probably host a second birthday party for himself later this week to appease fans who couldn’t get tickets to tomorrow’s sold‐out shindig in his honor at Mohegan Sun’s Ultra 88 Nightclub. Tickets to Donnie’s 40th birthday party sold out in 20 minutes. Donnie said fans should check his Twitter page for details about the second soiree. “It’s going to be a great night,’’ he said of tomorrow’s birthday extravaganza. “I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate.’’ Wahlberg admitted that it’s easier to deal with New Kids fans now that they’ve matured. “They’re not going to sit in front of my house ‐ and they don’t need to.’’ USA Mohegan

Hangin' (Tough) With Donnie Wahlberg Bob Connors/NBC Connecticut Long lines of ladies greeted me as I arrived at the Ultra 88 nightclub on the Casino Mall's upper level. Each had bought a ticket to be able to share Donnie's birthday with him. The NKOTB bad boy made good with some fans who didn't have tickets, making a stop in Lucky's Lounge next door before slipping out a back door for a little dinner before the celebration. The doors to Ultra 88 opened a little after 9 p.m., the music pumped and the ladies danced (with the few men who were lucky enough to be a part of the crowd). Ladies Still Love Donnie Wahlberg at 40 But it wasn't until 11 p.m. that the booming sounds being pumped out by the DJ were quickly drowned out by the screams that could only mean one thing: Donnie was "in da club." After a Hollywood‐esque red carpet walk and a brief photo‐op, Donnie made his way to the dance floor, where there was a huge cake topped with a large 40 waiting for him. He cut pieces from the cake and hand‐fed admirers while they serenaded him with "Happy Birthday." From there the night really took off. Donnie took to the club's small stage and led the crowd in some club favorites (though none of his New Kids hits). The party went on until 1 a.m., but Donnie's night wasn't over. As he walked off the stage, he promised his fans he wouldn't leave until he took a picture with every single fan who wanted one. Let me set the scene. Hundreds of screaming females, loud music and Donnie Wahlberg on stage entertaining the swooning crowd. Think I'm describing a New Kids on the Block concert circa 1989? Try again. That was the scene at a birthday party celebrating Wahlberg's 40th birthday at Mohegan Sun Tuesday night. And what a night it was.
Now, say what you will about Donnie Wahlberg, but as I left, he was at the club's entrance with a line of at least 250 women, and he posed, one at a time, with each and every one of them. Maybe that's why his fans have stuck around long enough to help him celebrate the big 4‐0.

Donnie Wahlberg turns 40, heads on birthday tour: second stop, Boston And the ladies? Went wild. Arguably the hottest bachelor (meaning unmarried) from Boston, Mr. Donnie Wahlberg had a birthday, and all of his fans? Knew about it. For the big 4‐0, Wahlberg decided to take his sexy self on a city tour, hitting up Mohegan Sun last Tuesday, Rumor nightclub in Boston last night (Thursday) and onward to TX, Vegas, and Cali (and maybe more). So women of all ages, from all over the place, buy tickets (that cost $25 each) and show up to the given party pad (this time: Rumor in Boston) at 10PM. They wait in a very long line and don't set foot into the club until after 11PM. The club is way over capacity, and one can't help but think that if there was an emergency, half of its patrons wouldn't make it out alive. Getting drunk is a great option, other than the drinks cost $12 a pop ... so what's in it for the hundreds of New Kids on the Block fans? For some? It's a glimpse of Donnie Wahlberg. For others, it's the chance to elbow through the crowd to get a hug from him. For even less, it's a chance for "face time" ‐ and yes, Wahlberg will talk and get to know people. He offeres autographs, picture‐ops, hugs, and kisses ‐ but it's a select few and always seems to be the same few that are guaranteed the time "alone" with him. He got on the mic and told the sardine packed club that he wanted to make babies with everyone there. Women screamed while I laughed at the prospect of diseases and over population. By 1:30AM, the average working person (in many cases wife, mom) is just ready to get her face time and get to bed. Well if you want to have a chance to talk with him, you have to be willing to withstand the wee hours of the morning ... we're talking 4, 5, 6AM. The reality is that any one of those girls in that club would punch you square in the nose at any given time if you bumped them on their mission. That ONE mission, held by hundreds (of thousands) is to get near Wahlberg. Last night, Wahlberg went outside to take photos with fans and a fight broke out. A major fight. Wahlberg had to leave for security reasons. Sound like fun? Many girls will tell you that it comes with the territory and that drama is inevitable. Many of these same women think that they actually have a shot at "being" with Wahlberg. They follow him all around the country and many claim to have intimate conversations with him. Others just like the guy, and honestly who wouldn't? The man's heart is gold. The smiles he puts on people's faces is like nothing I've ever witnessed. So since I will probably never get my chance to tell him, I'll say it here. Donnie, people are crazy, but you rise above. No matter what happens, you remain loyal to your fans. They love you more than love can withstand. The smiles that you induce are electrically charged. Thank you for making so many people share so many smiles. Smiling makes the world go 'round, and it's people like you who keep it spinning.
