Secretary Report

Members of the Njwrc;

I hope this article finds you all doing well. This year has certainly flown by, and convention is just around the corner. My hope is that all our members have some nice juniors growing up for that as well as some seniors in a coat. Here in the Midwest, we were hit with some crazy weather patterns this early spring and summer. From a very cold, late spring. To a very hot and dry summer thus far.

Our membership has been staying stable with a few new faces coming along. But as always, we could use more support to get some youth interested in our breed. The youth are the foundation of this club and the breed. Many districts seem to have some but there are a few that have very few youths. That is hard to see because without a younger generation to keep this going, we are bound to fall the wayside.

I have heard of many ideas of how to get more youth involved, I for one, have been known to give youth a nice trio to get started with. That got a few going in our district, but due the viruses around these days we have lost some here as well. With the uncertainties of our time, we need to do what we can to stick together and help each other out and to try and get some more involvement. I encourage anyone that is interested to talk to your district reps and see what possibly could be done to help get some more involved.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and again I hope this article finds you all well and coping with these current uncertainties to the best of everyone’s abilities.

Thank you Doug Brown

Convention Tips!

Discard your carpets and use puppy pads; easily discarded and replaced to avoid cross contamination. Other people often help themselves to someone else's tables without asking; and you don't want your rabbits exposed to parasites or viruses.
