Preseident's Report

I want to open this article with a heartfelt thanks

to those who will be concluding their terms on our board of directors. Elections are taking place as I write for even-numbered District Reps, Secretary and Vice President. Their terms expire, and new candidates take their places, at the end of Convention. Amber Henderson, District 2 rep has finished her second term this round in her board tenure. She has previously served on the board as a rep and as Secretary. I thank Amber for the many projects she has taken on for the club, particularly as Golden Fleece Auction solicitor for several years. Thank you to Kendra Williams, District 4 rep, for serving 3 terms with the board! I recall in the past many board conversations that Kendra contributed to with unique ideas and input. I thank Tracey Freeman, District 6 rep, who will be concluding her 3rd term as well. Tracey has contributed her knowledge as a Jersey Wooly judge, and her passion as a club member. All of these directors have striven to represent their districts, and the breed, and have served with integrity. I thank each of them for sharing their time with the club, in support of its members. Finally, I say thank you to Angel LeSage, who has served the club for many, many years as a District rep, 3 terms as president, and is now finishing her 2nd term as Vice President. Angel, as president, came onto the board following Rob Usakowki. She credits Rob with “bringing the club back to abiding by the Constitution and by-laws.” This was a monumental step, which Angel followed with several years hard work to bring meaningful updates to the CBL. She guided the club through some rocky times with steadfast commitment to keeping the integrity of the CBL. Many people have no idea what the job of the President looks like. First and foremost, it takes someone who can be a steward to the club even in adversity. It takes someone who can set aside personal complications and deal with the issues, perhaps with passion, but as impartially as possible. It also means that there are many large events and planning going on at all times, so being a juggler is a plus! Angel handled many difficult situations for the club during her term, and she stayed steady in upholding the CBL, in finding solutions that met the needs of the club and its membership. She has been a great steward to this club.

Speaking of Convention, the club is gearing up for this year! Convention runs October 29-November 2nd. The club has many events planned. We will have our club booth, where you can buy Trio tickets, sign up for, or renew memberships, grab a quick snack, and gather to talk to your wooly friends from around the country. Our breakfast banquet/award ceremony will take place on Tuesday, at 9:30 am at the Black Bear Diner. Attendees will order off the menu, and each table will settle their bill individually.
