NJ Camp Fairs is hosting a Virtual Camp Fair on February 21, 2021. It’ll be a perfect day to research and learn about various camp options...and you will be able to do this from the comfort of home. Meet over 50 camp directors, watch camp in action videos, ask questions and make that connection! Ask them how they will navigate and adjust for safety concerns, and ask those who did open in 2020, how it went?

Welcoming all families who are looking for a safe and rewarding summer experience for their child.
Realizing how difficult the past year has been for our kids, it is NJ Camp Fair’s goal, in collaboration with The American Camp Association, and the entire camp community, to bring hope and smiles to 2021 with the thoughts of a normal summer. Summer Camps are expected to re-open this summer whether it is an in-person, hybrid or virtual camp.
This day will be a FREE educational resource, guaranteed to give you
LIVE face to face meetings. Our fair will get you in front of over 50 camps, all in one day, and at the convenience of your home. You’ll find day camps, sleepaway camps, sports, adventure, academic, art, robotics, precollege, performing arts...
Navigate our friendly platform (no special skills required. Expect to:
● meet LIVE with camp directors

● download information and even apply for camp
● learn about Open Houses, camp promotions, early bird discounts

The American Camp Association provides a great checklist!
• View website, social media & videos: Camps have a wealth of information on their websites and social media platforms including leadership information, camp philosophy, program, activities, photos, camp video, session length, dates & rates, blogs and much more.
• Get to Know the Camp Director: The director makes the ultimate decisions at camp so when you ask questions, make sure you like the answers you are receiving. Keep in mind you are starting a partnership with the camp director so you want to make sure there is a feeling of trust and comfort. • Tour the Camp: Scheduling a camp tour over the summer gives the future camper and family a chance to see the camp in action. Ask the camp director questions while you are in the camp environment. This also gives children the feeling that they are part of the selection process. The more involved
a child feels, the more successful the camp experience will be.
• Attend a Camp Fair: These are free events that bring dozens of camps straight to parents, allowing parents to have one-on-one conversations with many camp directors to find out about their camp program. • Camp Open Houses: Many camps host spring and fall festivals/open houses giving families another way to see the camp and get to know the camp staff. This is another great way to involve your child in the process of choosing a camp.
• Rookie Days: Many overnight camps offer Rookie Days or Rookie Weekends which are designed to give future campers a chance to experience the camp in session. Also, check references. Good luck in your search!
