Intramural Sports Program

The intramural Sports Program is committed to satisfying the needs of the New Jersey City University Community through providing a structured format for competition, where playing the game or entering the contest is more important than winning. This ensures individuals the opportunity to maintain fitness, relax, make friends and find a healthy release from the stress of studying and classes. Many undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty, staff and alumni have seized the opportunity to enjoy various intramural and recreational activities. Our facilities in the John Moore Athletic Center include three full length basketball/volleyball courts, an indoor track, a swimming pool/sauna, and a fully equipped fitness center. Intramural and recreational activities are also held in our outdoor athletic facility (Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex) on Route 440 just past Danforth Avenue, where we offer Softball and Flag Football among other activities.
