OUR WALK AT THE RESERVOIR

We saw geese. There were lots of geese. They were eating.

We were eating too. We had a picnic. That’s me and Mama.

We found a beautiful flower. It is called a yellow trout lily.

The trees were beautiful but did not have leaves yet.

We found some other spring plants. This one is called Cleaver.
This one is called Mugwort. Both have been used as medicine.

I like this tree root. It looks like a turtle.

This plant is called Skunk Cabbage because it smells bad. It grows in the swamp. We listened for frogs, but they were not out yet.

This is lichen. It’s not a plant or an animal. It a combination of algae and moss.

This is my walking stick. My GrandBob made it for me. He put my name on it with a laser cutter he has in his basement.

I made magic with these white leaves. They are very beautiful.
My grandma says these are beech trees. They don’t lose their leaves in the fall. They fall in the spring. When the wind blows the old leaves make a beautiful sound.

We saw many beautiful rocks. This is a pink quartz. Pink quartz is very beautiful. You should find some.
This rock has mica in it. Mica shimmers in the sunshine.

This is a giant pinecone. There are also tiny ones. Pinecones have seeds that grow new trees which is good for the environment.
THE END!
