Camping at Hopeville Pond

It was late in the day, but we took some time to explore the pond when we arrived. My mermaid and I found a tree that had been chewed by beavers.
We saw the full moon.
By the time we had dinner and got settled, it was very very dark.
It was cold in the morning, so GrandBob made a campfire.
Later in the day, we met the woodpecker.
On our morning hike, we saw a tree that had holes in it. A woodpecker made the holes.
This is poison ivy. It makes you very itchy if you touch it.
So stay away. Walk in the middle of the path.
And watch out for the logipedes! Sophie says they roll to walk.
We saw a big mushroom and some Princess Pine. Princess Pine is actually a kind of moss. I squished the mushroom. It was fun. More will grow.
Remember the beech leaves we saw on our walk at the reservoir? Now the old leaves have fallen off and the new leaves are here.
Then I explored the beach with GrandBob.
It rained a little bit. We watched the patterns the rain drops made in the pond.
I played in the sand with GrandBob. We built a castle for a monster.
We found blue-green algae and a clam.
On Friday, we had lunch at a diner. Everything in the restaurant was Coco Cola. There was a Coco Cola cap on the wall. There was a Coco Cola train. There was even Coco Cola inside the train, with a polar bear protecting it.
This is the Coca Cola train we saw when we had lunch.
Later, I did art in the camper with Mama.
We found more lichen. This lichen is called “old man’s beard.”
Saturday morning, we went fishing. We had two nibbles, but we didn’t catch anything.
The best thing about camping is meeting new friends.
The End.
