The start of Sports Astrology Network (SAN as we call it) cannot begin without Sarah’s spark of excitement around the cosmos When Sarah reached out to our publishing house it was a lovely “hey, love what you are doing and would love to be part of it” message. While she did not mean to, Sarah started an idea of a network run by women astrologers that love sports and the skies above equally
After working with Sarah and learning even more about her story we are lucky to have her enthusiasm, her spirit and her voice with Sports Astrology Network Get to know this brainiac Seattle sports buff in our talk, you’ll see what I mean about knowing her stuff! -Gracey
Sarah’s dedication of Radio Room Astrology is for her Dad, seen here! Read more about Sarah’s story here

When did you first discover astrology?
Outside of the general Sun sign knowledge, it was mid-2019. A coworker asked me if I was a Scorpio and when I said no, she asked about my Moon sign.
I had no idea about my Moon, Mercury, or anything else so I looked it up and sonof-a-bitch look at that; Scorpio Moon! A passing interaction planted the seed and I became fully immersed, spending every spare minute studying.
Who are some of the voices in the astrology community you credit with getting you further involved with this ancient artform?
Chris Brennen, Demetra George, Adam Elenbaas, Chani Nicholas, Austin Coppock, Judith Hill, MindBodyBronx, Milkstrology, Indigo Witt, Solelunastro, Kira Ryberg, Shawtyastrology I could keep going, but these are a few I have been following since the beginning.
What are some of your titles outside of “Astrologer” and “Student of the Cosmos?”
The title of “friend” is very important to me. I love my friends so much. Sister, Daughter, Mom to a Mastiff and a potato-shaped Bulldog. Lover of Learning and Traveling. Music Obsessed. Sports Enthusiast, Champion Yapper, Amateur Hiker, Coffee Consumer, and Avid Reader.

When did you first realize you were interested in sports?
Not exactly sure. But as far back as I can remember, I was extremely active outside with my older brother and kids on the street. Granted, a lot of that was getting pushed into pools or locked in a treehouse, but swimming and climbing down a 20ft tree takes some athleticism I started playing organized sports in elementary school, I think around 3rd grade.

How about favorite sports moments you witnessed (on TV or in person) and how that impacted your love of sports?
Luke Ridnour was playing with the Sonics, I think it was his rookie year. At the end of the game, the cameras were still rolling for post-game chats and whatnot but I saw him in the background give (what I assume was) the game winning ball to an elderly person in a wheel chair. I remember pointing at the TV and saying “ aww that was sweet, he’s my new favorite.” Still my favorite to this day!
Another excellent moment was when Damian Lillard waved goodbye to OKC after Portland won. You could hear me up the street, I went fucking HAM after that win And I could not tell you how many times I rewatched Malice at the Palace clips with my dad so that one is a classic to me Sports are universal and so integral to many people's lives and where they find joy. The trivial details add up to team lore, inside jokes, and what makes each city's sports culture a little different.

Let’s talk about more of what makes you amazing as a sports astrologer, your own astrology! What part of your astrology chart screams “sports” the most in your mind?
Mars in the 5th house, baby! I love “the craic” as the Irish say. I love the fun stuff, the loud and wild stuff Having a place to be rowdy and crass and just yell, where it’s not only allowed but even encouraged, is damn cathartic to my Mars placement. Being able to express that aggression or pure instinctual passion in an environment like concerts or sporting events is essentially my way of giving an offering to the 5th house. The World Cup is currently underway and what an excellent example of sports creating community and bringing people together. As someone with a 5th house Mars aspecting a Jupiter-ruled Venus in Sagittarius, I can’t get enough of the wholesome, funny, and inspiring cross-cultural videos all over the internet.
What is the most important placement, celestial body or aspect in a chart for you when looking through a lens of sports astrology?
MOON! The Moon is key; it’s the first thing I look at. It can tell us about the energy and mood, the body, communication, the fans, even the score of a game Since the Moon changes signs every couple of days, it gives us some variety in game chart analysis. Some planets are in the same sign for many years so the energy may not be changing much Plus, certain sporting events are recurring like the Super Bowl. At the same time of year every year, which means the Sun will always be in Aquarius for those games Or during an event like the NBA Finals where there are many games only days apart, the charts may look similar. In the article Kayla and I wrote for game two of the finals this year, I mentioned that the Knicks would win but due to the Moon and its aspects for game three, the Spurs would walk away the winners and they did! Mercury and Mars get second and third place for me.
Who are your favorite teams?
Seattle Supersonics! Storm, Blazers, Seahawks, Mariners, Torrent, and Kraken. The PNW teams, but I also really loved the early 2000 ’ s Detroit Pistons, the Spurs’ Tim Duncan/Tony Parker era, along with the Phoenix Suns.

Who are some of your favorite athletes and why?
I am loyal to the PNW, and all my favorites played in the area at some point. Gary Payton, Sue Bird, Ray Allen, Luke Ridnour, Breanna Stewart, Lauren Jackson, Damian Lillard, Rashard Lewis, Edgar Martinez, Ichiro Suzuki, Detlef Schrempf, Nick Collison, and Danny Fortson to name a few Do coaches count? Sometimes, my favorite part of the Mariners’ game was watching Lou Piniella lose his shit and start throwing bases or kick dirt at the umpires.
As for the why, it can vary. Some athletes are just incredibly gifted at what they do Watching Ray Allen or Damian Lillard sink a game winning three pointer is an artform, it’s poetry in motion Other times it’s for a reason that has nothing to do with sports, and I just like something funny they did on the sideline, or I respected their competitive, trash-talking spirit. One time my mom made a comment about how even with three players on one, nobody was moving a solid brick wall under the basket. That’s how Danny Fortson made the list.

Danny Fortson, the brick wall
Why are women the future of sports astrology in your opinion?
Because women are just better. ;) Hah! Because the 5th house is said to be the “fun” house and the topic of sports falls here. You know what they say… girls just want to have fun!

What is your favorite sports astrology research moment that you can recall vividly? (example: did you guess a player’s sign before looking it up?)
When I made a bingo card for this year ’ s Super Bowl Part of it was a mess but there were several things I nailed like a surprise female guest at halftime, a streaker making it past security onto the field, or my personal favorite “Seahawks player throws a punch.” That one had me reacting like we got a touchdown It was one of those “holy shit I did it, this really works” moments
The Moon was in the 5th house of games and was making an aspect to Mars, which was making an aspect to Uranus. I was digging into that portion of the Super Bowl game chart when I came up with that prediction.

Who are some of your favorite astrologers or astrology books of all time?
My favorite sports astrology books are Picking Winners by Donald Bradbury and Sports Astrology: The Inclusive Methodology of Game Analysis by Dr Ravi Rao, and Sports Astrology by John Frawley Narrowing down my favorite books is tough, but some other good ones are Aspects in Astrology by Sue Tompkins, The Rulership Book by Rex E Bills, 36 Faces by Austin Coppock, and By Jove! The Meaning of Astrological Jupiter by Liz Greene
There are so many incredible astrologers out there I could fill a page but here are some I would recommend: Chris Brennan for an overall juggernaut of knowledge Chani Nicholas for progressive and inclusive practices Empress Atlantis for the sense of humor alone but also, she’s an asteroid savant Adam Elenbaas for astrology blended with peace and spirituality Kayla with WNBA Astro is an absolute must follow for those on Twitter My Instagram favorites are Khloe Taylor and MindBodyBronx for the perfect mixture of astrology and tarot And of course, Northern Astrology for all things NFL!
What are your goals and big dreams with sports astrology?
My goals and dreams? Are you kidding? Where is that gif of David Rose shaking his head saying, “absolutely not?” The fact that I revealed I’m a Scorpio Moon was more than enough sharing for one day.
If you could have any athlete’s exact birth time, who would it be and why?
It changes depending on which sport is in season but right now it is Flau’jae Johnson. My attempt at getting her attention from the stands with a piece of paper saying “#4 the astrology girlies want your birth time” has not been successful thus far, but the year isn’t over yet. I think she might have a grand water trine, and I’d love to see which houses it falls into How many Moon-Mars players are out there? Flau’jae has Moon and Mars conjunct in Pisces whereas Angel Reese has Moon in Pisces square Mars in Gemini Having a lot of mutable placements seems to work in favor of athletes. Plus, watching her play, there is something extra there I can’t put my finger on. It’s more than her skill as a player, she has an energy about her that gives off a depth
Any bold predictions for 2026-2027?
The Supersonics return will be official The Seattle Mariners will go to the World Series for the first time. Astrology will continue to expand and show up in new places. In 2027, there will be sports astrologers/sports astrology reporters on the staff and in the front offices of professional teams. Aliens make contact in a way that no government power can hide, spin, or cover up.
