Maedi-Visna Accredited sections will be provided where applicable. All M.V Accredited Rams will be eligible to be sold in the Accredited section. This MUST be intimated to the Auctioneers at time of entry otherwise they will be sold in the Non Accredited Maedi Visna section.

Please refer to individual sales for the respective Viewing days and times Face coverings are mandatory for all persons entering the mart. These must be worn without exception while in the market including the sales rings and pens To facilitate the Test and Trace system, all customers/visitors will be required to sign into the market. This process will include a declaration that they have not been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19, nor are displaying symptoms personally Hand sanitiser stations will be available throughout the mart; however, it is strongly recommended that both consignors and buyers have an adequate personal supply and to use it regularly Please follow instructions from market staff and security staff. A private security firm will be in attendance to assist H&H in ensuring social distancing is observed wherever possible Strictly no private videoing/broadcasting on Social media, or phones etc in the pens or ring If you are unable or do not wish to attend the mart but would like to bid on animal(s), then the auctioneers will faithfully execute commission bids for buyers. Please contact them and put your instructions in writing 48 hours in advance of the sale. Alternatively, you can arrange to make a telephone bid during the sale

GENERAL INFORMATION BIOSECURITY – Intending purchasers are requested to have livestock vehicles cleansed and disinfected.

Vendors will be required to wash out their livestock vehicles after unloading.

NOTICE TO PURCHASERS Business Trading Terms and Settlement of Purchases Payment due on Day of Purchase Interest chargeable from date of purchase at 7.25% over Clydesdale Bank base rate at the time, for accounts in default Purchases shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law in England and Scotland.

Accepted forms of payments – direct bank transfer; debit card; cheque – known customers only; bankers draft 2% surcharge will apply to Business Credit Card payments If payment is made by credit card, it must be linked to a business bank account Completion of a Buyers Slip is essential for parties who have not dealt with the Company before.

No lots can leave the market without a ‘Pass Slip’ being issued by the office.

New customers and or agents wishing to purchase on behalf of another party must contact the company’s main office at Carlisle at least 48 hours prior to sale, to provide full details and references for authorization. Please note that all lots/items must be settled on the day of purchase and prior to clearance of any stock . For the avoidance of doubt H&H reserve the right to contra or keep sale proceeds to offset against outstanding account Heifers are guaranteed free of calf unless otherwise stated at time of sale. In the event of the animal not conforming warranty, the seller shall refund 33⅓ of the purchase price in full settlement, at the sole option of the purchaser, the animal in question may be returned to the Vendor, who will refund purchase price, keep and expenses. Claims for Bullock calves not properly castrated must be intimated within 28 days from day of sale. All claims must be accompanied by a veterinary surgeon’s certificate stating ear number of animal NOTICE Any lot missing their turn will not be offered for sale until the end of their class. The average weight shown on the indicator board is given as a guide and is not guaranteed. Consignors are responsible for the correct number in each lot put forward on the weighbridge, in the case of animals not conforming to warranty; the defaulting party shall be liable for any expenses incurred. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that any animals destined for the food chain are out with any withdrawal period. This includes antibiotics, anthelmintics or sheep dip that the seller may have given prior to the sale. Consignors are advised that it is their sole responsibility to ensure that correct passports for each selling lot are lodged in the office prior to sale.

Please ensure all passports are signed and dated No animal can be sold if the passport is incorrect in any way

BIO SECURITY RULES NOTICE TO ALL VISITORS AND TRADERS Excessively dirty vehicles will not be allowed entry, therefore ensure your vehicle is clean before arrival All visitors and traders must ensure they wear clean clothing and footwear before entering market site Haulier and Farmers delivering livestock must disinfect their boots before loading and unloading No livestock will be allowed to remain on the premises after a sale unless by prior arrangement
