General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: The sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The Market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. VIEWING - The Sale Sheep will be available for viewing at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Friday 17th November. Prior viewing of the sheep is most welcome, please contact vendors direct - see page 1. HOTELS - There are many hotels within the area, ranging from four star to excellent Bed and Breakfast accommodation, a list of which may be found in the catalogue. CONDITIONS OF SALE - The Pedigree and Description of each lots and all information as to service sire dates and health are believed to be correct. Sold under the conditions of sale as displayed in the market, recommended by the Livestock Auctioneer’s Committee for England and Wales. METHOD OF SALE - All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. COMMISSIONS - The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions. SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK - Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of Sale. CATALOGUE The 3 Nations Team welcome you to our fourth annual sale. As breeders we strive to offer you some of the best females from our flocks coupled with cutting edge genetics to produce some special entries. We take this opportunity to thank you all for attending and supporting the sale and making it the enjoyable event it is. Another tremendously successful year for us all, both at shows and sales. This was capped when Solwaybank sold the highest priced lamb of the year at Stirling for 26,000gns, the fifth year in a row for members of our sale. Amongst the service sires today are some of the most exciting rams available to buy this year, with senior rams already proving their worth, siring pens to achieve top averages at the national sales this season. We would like to welcome two new guests this year, namely the Burnview and Bridgeview flocks who will certainly be an asset to the sale with top prices this year of 10,000gns and 8,000gns. Due to unforeseen circumstances the Rhaeadr flock will not be joining us this year but normal service will be resumed in 2018 and Myfyr will be back stronger than ever . All sheep sold at 400gns and above will be Insured for 3 months as Luck Penny.
All ewes and gimmers scanned In-lamb. All sheep are either ARR/ARR or fully Scrapie Monitored. Every effort will be made to assist with transport of sheep to Ireland and throughout the UK. The sale will be available to view on webcam and online bidding facility will be available on the night but any interested parties must be registered with Harrison & Hetherington before hand. Over the years females have been added from some of the leading flocks in the UK but the emphasis has always been on using homebred females. Over the years many rams have been purchased including 2800gns Limestone Habana, he was one of the first sons off H18 the most influential ewe at Limestone to date. He left the backbone of the breeding flock. This was followed by Sitlow Samurai, a son of Cairness Carbon. Again he provided some outstanding females. He stood champion stock ram in the Tayside flock competition in 2013 and reserve in both 2012 and 2015. Birness Bollinger (15,000gns) also proved to be another good breeder. Roundacre Real Deal (1800gns) was purchased more recently proving a real success siring Pyeston Rossco, selling for 1200gns at Kelso 2015. He also sired the flock’s top gimmer at the sale last year that sold for 1800gns to the Sunnyhills flock. The gimmer crop this year is predominantly by Solwaybank Titan, a much admired lamb at Stirling 2015. One of the best skinned suffolks the breed has seen. He bred Pyestons best lamb to date, Pyeston Phantom who was sold privately to the Sunnyhills flock for an undisclosed four figure sum. Phantom was the sire of the champion ewe lambs in the national flock competition securing the Sainsbury Cup this year. Another Titan son, Pyeston Punch, went on to breed sons to 3800gns at this year’s National sale for the Dol-llys flock. The year we had great success securing 1600gns at Kelso with a Cavanagrove Catalyst son who sold The Pyeston flock regularly competes in the Tayside flock competition, winning Overall Champion in 2013, 2015 and 2016, Reserve in 2011 and 2012. Pay market value of an animal for death or slaughter on humane grounds during the period of insurance following an accident or illness, including the pregnancy and parturition risk for females.
Sum insured (This is the price paid for the animal)
Cover applies for 3 months from 'fall of hammer' on the date of the sale, shown in the policy schedule, at which the animal was purchased. Death or slaughter on humane grounds must occur within this period.
What are the key exclusions or limitations of the policy? Key exclusions or limitations
The maximum amount payable for any one animal insured under a Luckpenny policy is ÂŁ150,000. Claims involving any injury sustained or illness or disease first appearing before the start of cover will be excluded.

Slaughter for economic reasons or because the animal is incapable of performing the function for which it is kept is excluded. Slaughter under statute or the rules of an eradication scheme is excluded. Theft, straying and mysterious disappearance are not covered. Claim payments will be reduced by the value of semen or ova in store for AI or ET. The relevant Breed Society will be notified if a claim payment is made. Geographical Limits United Kingdom, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland. No cover can be offered for purchase(s) outside of the geographical limits.

Claims Handling Process If anything happens that may give rise to a claim, 1. if you are the policyholder, you must tell us as soon as possible, giving your name and policy number. If a claim is being made against you: • do not respond to any writ, letter, claim or other documentation • send any writ, letter, claim or other documentation to us without delay • do not admit, repudiate or negotiate any claim. 2. if you are the purchaser of an animal insured you must immediately: i) obtain veterinary assistance ii) inform NFU Mutual, by contacting your local NFU Mutual office (or the office that issued the policy, if you know it), quoting a) the date and place of purchase b) the vendors name (and policy number, if you know it) c) the lot number. We will not pay a claim unless either the policyholder or purchaser, 1. Tells NFUM or the police immediately (or in any event within seven days) if the loss is caused by a criminal act, riot, or malicious persons. 2. Supplies, at the policyholder’s own expense, details of the claim in writing. This includes any supporting information or evidence that we require. 3. Does not admit, deny, negotiate, or settle any claim without our prior consent. 4. Informs NFUM at least 24 hours before disposing of any carcase (other than disposal following death by anthrax or slaughter under any official scheme rules relating to the eradication of a specific disease).
