CATALOGUE SHEARLING GIMMERS Lots 201-242
Paul Tippets & Christine Williams – Hackney Flock We welcome you to our second production sale from the Hackney Blue Texel flock. The Blue Texels offered for sale, from our small but select flock, include some of the best and most proven family lines from within the Hackney flock. We have been highly delighted with the success, at both shows and sales, of our homebred Blue Texels; especially as the flock was only established in 2013. During 2016 it has given us both a real buzz to see the success of Hackney Blue Texels which were purchased at the 2015 Sapphire Sale on the show circuit for fellow breeders. This success has included the securing of major Championships and Interbreed titles. 2016 Society Sales Hackney highlights include Hackney Your Joking 3,200gns, Hackney Yuppie 1,900gns, Hackney Yankee 1,700gns and Hackney Yorkie 1,100gns. It was also very rewarding to see the Watkins family secure the second top sale price of 3,300gns for Hackney X-Rated, as an aged ram, at Worcester. Many of our sale entries are related to the above. An added bonus is the opportunity to purchase ewes, not only in lamb to Hackney X-Factor, but our junior stock ram Joes Alvin, purchased Carlisle September 2016 for the breed record of 18,000gns. The Hackney Blue Texel sale entries are all available for direct export to Northern Ireland. We hope our Blue Texels go on and breed well for the successful purchasers. Many thanks to all who have helped us prepare for this sale and to the staff at H&H for their help and advice. 10 Reference to Sires: Whatmore Siren - a prolific breeder of quality and shape and with numerous top show accolades. Siren has excelled within the Hackney flock and been the driving force behind the flocks show and sale success. Whatmore Wasp - was used within the Hackney flock, based on his performance and the proven combination of Whatmore Wasp and Whatmore Siren within the Whatmore flock. Sunnybank Wildthing (imp) 4212-0939 - an imported ram with exceptional length and carcase plus coat colour and defined markings. Hackney (Import) 3182 - 0043 – Imported with both full sisters. Extensively used within the Hackney Flock in 2014, as a ram lamb, prior to being sold at Worcester Blue Texel Sale 2015 for 700gns. A full sister was sold at the 2015 Sapphire sale and purchased by Stasa Moyse (Saltire Blue Flock). She is the dam of Saltire A Beauty, Any Other Breed Champion, Echt Show 2016 (Sire: Hackney X Factor). Reference to Service Sires: Hackney X-Factor – a greatly admired full brother to Hackney Xtrovert and Hackney X-Rated; both sold as ram lambs and both have gone on to make 2,400gns and 3,300gns respectively since. A notable full sister is Hackney Yvonne, Any Other Breed Champion and Interbreed Champion Stafford County Show and Blue Texel Breed Champion Great Yorkshire Show during 2016. Joes Alvin – 1st prize ram lamb and Reserve Overall Champion Carlisle Blue Texel Society Show and Sale September 2016 where he was purchased for the breed record price of 18,000gns.

Dan & Janine Jones – Jonsland Flock We would like to extend a warm welcome to our second joint production sale of Blue Texel In Lamb gimmers and ewe lambs in conjunction with the Whatmore, Hackney and Sams Flocks. We would like to extend our thanks to all who have helped us prepare for this sale, especially Steve and Sara Gibbons. The Jonsland Flock was established in 2006 with the emphasis on good conformation and tight skins with the correct markings. We bought our first ewes at the Marteg Flock Dispersal Sale and from Huw Jones, Dulas Flock. We have increased our flock by only purchasing the best sheep we can find and by selecting our best ewes for embryo transfers. Although we only go to very few shows and sales, we have had great success over the years, with the highlights being winning the Supreme Championship twice at the Royal Welsh Show, which is one of the biggest shows of Blue Texels in the country. We use home bred Blue Texel rams in the commercial flock at Tynybryn. We sell to commercial breeders, many who buy from us regularly, producing prime lambs with premium weights and grades; we have also sold to some of the top pedigree Blue Texel flocks. We intend to retain our flock small and to be very selective with our breeding, always concentrating on quality. Health Status: All sheep are MV Accredited and all Gimmers and Ewe Lambs have been vaccinated against Enzootic Abortion and Toxoplasmosis; they are also on the Heptavac-P system. The Jonsland Blue Texel sale entries are all available for direct export to Northern Ireland. We would like to thank purchasers and wish them every success with their sheep in the future. Best wishes, Dan and Janine Jones www.jonsland.com Facebook – Jonsland Blue Texel Sheep Reference to Sires: Jonsland Xbox - 3rd prize lamb ram Royal Welsh Show 2014.
